just changing a bolt and they charged $300 although used $30 Angie Coupon. But they added $30 for parts...toooo xpensive.

Job went very well. Jim was quick and professional and the faucet works great. We also asked him to review a gas line that we have been told we will need to replace in the future. He indicated that it would not need to be replaced until the dryer is replaced. I am always impressed when someone provides an opinion indicating that something need not be done right away. He could have easily said he needed replacing immediately and taken advantage of our lack of knowledge. We will use Norblum again.

Given a 2 hour window, Dorrin was on time, very thorough yet worked quickly. He was friendly and tidy.

Norblom was extremely responsive to my first inquiry and had someone come out for a free estimate that same week. The project manager, Steve, was professional and kind. As a single, young, female home owner, I always appreciate when things are explained in detail, but with respect - Steve did both. He helped fill me in on what had and had not been done to "partially update" the plumbing on my 100 year old house. Gave me an honest assessment of best and worst case scenarios and gave me quotes for both completing the plumbing updates or just fixing the current problem. He gave me a range in the quote (billing is done by parts and labor) and let me know what he thought might influence it toward one end or another. When I called to schedule the work, the got me in on the day I requested (same week) and Andrew arrived right on time. Repairs were made and I ended up in the lower range of what I was quoted. He even put up with me having to leave for a work emergency, letting himself out and locking up when he finished and taking care of payment over the phone, emailing the receipt. Absolutely will be calling with any and all future plumbing needs.

Jason came out and said it would be no problem. He was very efficient and got right to work. He was not able to get the drain cover off after the living social plumber had been in there. He finally got it open, but had to break it to get it open. He got the drain cleaned out very well. He called his company and said that they needed to fix the trap. Another plumber from Norblom came out that same day to repair the trap. Now, my drain works great, and I have no problems. The drain cleaner charged a flat rate of about $135 and the plumber who fixed the trap charged about $106. They had given me a discount because I am an Angie's List member.

I've used several plumbers in the past, but decided to use Angies List for a tricky problem I have with some water pipes I have in the basement. I spoke with Norblom in the am, very pleasant, and they said they could send someone out same day, either 2-4 or 12-2, but 12-2 would be better. Great, I changed some meetings and left work at 11:30am to be home by noon, sat at my house until 1:50pm, when I called and they let me know the plumber's still on a previous job, but could be here in 40 minutes. I understand things happen, but I have no time for a vendor not respecting my time with at least a pro-active phone call, because I respected their's by being home when I said I would, it's simple courtesy. I guess the rating system on Angies List isn't perfect.

The cold water faucet to our washing machine was corroded and leaking. Norblom came out and replaced both faucets. They also showed us how to tighten the faucet in case it leaked in the future. The plumber was friendly and the new faucets look great.

Andrew came to give an estimate. He gave me 2 options & one was a fix for my immediate problem. The 2nd was for long range problems which I knew about. I opted for the long range. I enjoyed his honesty. He was courteous and friendly.

Darrin came out and gave me an estimate of what it would take to get the work done. He was very polite and explained all the options. So the day came around to have the work done and the people that were supposed to install the flooring were unable to do so. So there I sat with two bathrooms with no toilets. Jim showed up on time and I explained the situation to him. He went ahead and replaced the shutoff valve, prepped the area for the new vanity and installed one of my toilets as I had no ideal how long I would be without the new flooring. When the time came for the flooring to finally be installed I called Norblom to get another appointment for them to come out and finish the job. This time Paul was very punctual and of course there was another issue with the flooring so they were behind. Paul took it all in stride and they had enough of the lower bathroom done so he could start working there which was where most of the work was needed. While he was doing that I had the flooring people do enough o fthe upstairs bathroom so that when Paul finished downstairs he could do the upstairs. Overall I am extrememlly happy and satisfied with the service I received from Norblom's

I called Norblom on 9/18 asking for a quote to replace an old and leaking Water heater. Not only did they give me a reasonable quote, they stated they could do the work the next day. I agreed and they told me that my technician (Chet) would be there between 10 and 12 the next day. Chet showed up as scheduled, went right to work, and completed everything in a very professional manner. When he was done he showed me how to operate the new Water heater and walked through what to do if I have any issues. I would definitely use them again!

Jim was excellent. He seemed very fair and did a great job of explaining what the issues were, how he was fixing it. We found out we need a new water heater. While this wasn't great news, Jim offered a quote for a new one and didn't try to upsell us. Our previous water heater was 19 years old, so I guess we got our money out of it! Jim was also very neat. He put on shoe covers and cleaned up after himself. He was efficient and knowledgeable. I will not hesitate to call Norblom again in the future.

We have recently switched our plumbing work to Norblom Plumbing, and we have had the good fortune to get Jim Peterson as our plumber. Jim is a plumber extraordinaire! He is extremely capable on top of being very cordial. He explains what he is doing and what he has encountered along the way. Jim is more of a "people person" than just about any other plumber I have met. Plus, he is very bright, and that exceptional mental capacity is of value to customers in terms of problem solving. For example, Jim figured out that our replacement faucets had some of the same internal parts as the old faucets, and so we could be spared the extra expanse of totally removing the old faucets and, instead, we could just utililize the old and the new for a significant cost savings. The end result was perfect! We could not be happier.

I had requested estimates from 4 different providers for exactly the same service, which included the replacement of 2 shut-off valves on the water meter and two outside sill c****. The estimates were all similar. I used this provider because I had used them in the past, when I contracted through Sears for a water heater installation. I was quite pleased with that outcome and would have graded the work for the job as an 'A' for everything that was done. That job was prepaid with the water heater purchase. Ultimately, only one sill c*** was replaced, along with the two shut-off valves, but the price was approximately 40% higher than the quote, even though less work was done. I was negligent in not asking specifically how labor was charged with this particular provider. The charges were for 15 minute segments (or portions thereof) at $40 each segment after the initial $97 charge for the first 30 minutes. Since I hadn't asked for this information up front, I did not realize that I was being charged for time that the plumber used to interact with a co-worker who came in another vehicle to transfer product that obviously was for another job. Any unnecessary discussion on my part would definitely have been eliminated had I been prudent enough to have requested the labor charges up front. Since the charges from other providers had all been similar, I probably simply forgot to ask, and learned an expensive lesson in the process. Had all unnecessary chit-chat been eliminated, along with the time taken for interaction with with the co-worker, the labor charges would have been MUCH less and the final cost would have been more in line with the original estimate. The work was adequate but not exceptional.

It went well. I spent about twice as much as I'd hoped, but the gentleman (Jim) who performed the work explained everything that needed to be done, why it was being done, and how the problem I had was different from the one I'd thought. Most importantly, my kitchen no-longer smells when I run water down one of the drains. Jim was also very polite, patient, and kind. I'm considering them for a much larger project in my home.

Just moved into a new house -- well, technically built in 1952 - - and majority of everything was working fine. However we had some minor plumbing DIY things when swapping out washer/dryers. However...we noticed that one of the valves by the city meter was so old, rusty, and crusty that it actually had a small little leak coming out by the wheel valve area. We knew better than to touch it ourselves because there was a bunch of wires wrapping all around that pipe. So that's when we did a search to find a reputable Plumber. No matter where we looked Norblom Plumbing was always top of all the lists. So we called them and set up an appt. And actually, they had time same day to come and take a look. (Sweet!) The technician arrived he was very friendly and courteous. But when he went to shut off the main water valve it busted - - that one too had major, major rust all over the galvanized bend. So he promptly call the city and they were out to help. (Thank goodness he was there... would've been a MAJOR project if we would've tried!) Anyhoo i think it was a total of an hour and 20min to get total job done. We were happy and would definitely use Norblom again.

I purchased the fixtures from Norblom for a f air price. They were delivered by the plumber, Jim and his assistant Zach. Very personable and polite guys. Jim was very informative and helpful with my questions. Two hours later I had 2 new toilets and my house was still clean! (They even wore booties!!).

He came out and inspected for a leak for me, but was unable to find anything. I haven't had any problems since then. He was prompt and did a good job.

When our 14 year old water heater stopped working I called Norblom and they gave me a specific time that they would arrive. They called when they were a half hour out to let us know they were coming. They advised us to replace our direct vent water heater with a power vent saving us more than $1000. They answered all my questions. They were friendly, efficient and professional and were finished quickly with the work. The water heater has been working great!

Scheduled the appointment quickly after my initial call, nicely installed quality products, and charged a fair price. It was very easy for me because I was able to set everything up over the phone, and they brought out the replacement parts and took the old junk away.

Jim was knowledgable, courteous and very helpful. I will definitely make Norblom my first call for plumbing in the future.

Who are you going to call when you discover a, first spraying then dripping, water pipe leak on a Friday afternoon at the beginning of a holiday weekend like I did? Let me give you some sound advice...for sure call Norblom Plumbing! Not more than half an hour after discovering and telling Mike at Norblom of my dilemma, he had Andrew at my door and ready to tackle the problem. While having some difficulty getting the line thoroughly drained, it took Andrew about an hour and a half to replace and solder back together the affected pipe as good as new, maybe better? So, within two hours of realizing I had a plumbing crisis on my hands, Norblom had completely solved what seemed like a holiday spoiler to me...just amazing! This is definitely one company who puts their customers' needs ahead of any desire to start the holiday weekend early... thank you Andrew and Norblom for your solid commitment to customer service.

What a great experience I had with Norblom! Getting a quote was easy - Amy is fantastic and did a great job quickly responding to my questions, provided me with a general quote over the phone and then followed up with a more detailed quote via email. I was able to schedule the service within 3 days of my inquiry and I was called when an earlier time slot opened up. The plumber arrived on time, was efficient and thorough, answered all my questions, and did a great walkthrough of the work when he was done. The whole job took about 2 hours. Since I had such a detailed quote, there were no surprises when I was billed and I didn't have to mention the online coupon I had - he already had notes about it on my bill. Overall excellent experience.

I had them come out to my office to unclog a sink in our main bathroom as well as help with our malfunctioning toilet. Zach arrived promptly and was very personable and nice. He unclogged the sink in less then 5 minutes and had it all cleaned out and ready to use. When he looked at the toilet I was a little disappointed. He informed me that the flushing problem related to the toilet was due to the new flapper gasket inside the tank. He told me he didn't know much about the stuff on the inside of the tank which shocked me considering he is a plumber. Zach did, however, tell me that he would ask someone who did know more about the toilet problem. All in all I considered it mostly a good and successful visit by Norblom.

The plumber phoned me within the two hour time frame, and with travel from Edina arrived at my home @ 20 minutes later. After introducing myself I explained our need by showing him the new vanity sink and top along with the new single lever faucet. Because the sink was oversized the drain would not match up to the pea trap assembly. I had purchased the parts to make this installation, and the plumber agreed to use my parts where he could. The saw was quickly put to work as he cut the existing assembly and proceeded to install the required drain. The plumber was willing to show me each step he took and answered each of my questions. He used some of the parts that I had purchased and sealant. The new faucet was installed and adjusted. The plumber (name Andrew) offered information- all positive about Norbloom Plumbing and their reputation as I was a fist time customer. Two things surprised me about this service call; when entering my home, he did not offer to remove his shoes or put booties on and secondly he did not offer to cleanup the pipe shavings and other small debris left in the cabinet and Perhaps the latter was motivated by his desire to save me money. I was confused with the bill as the scheduling person had quoted me a rate lower than what he charged for the first 45 minutes. Andrew acknowledged that there was "a lot of confusion and misunderstanding" about the rate for the fist 45 minutes of service and reviewed the billing structure with me and applied the Angie's List coupon discount. The total time for the work that was completed was 1 hour, 20 minutes.He indicated that I could request him by name for future plumbing needs and asked me to complete a report.
