Good communication. They showed up on time and were done very quickly. They pointed out some additional needs but did not overly push and left the options open to revisit later. Never enjoy paying for plumbing but the cost was palatable. Will be more than happy to use them again.

We weren't aware that the previous owners were doing this yearly so after 3 years at the house it was very bad and backed up into the basement. They came out the next day and the guy spent a lot of time and explained each step of the way. Very honest and did good work.

OMG it was great! Jim was super nice and explained everything he was doing. I really thought we had a HUGE plumbing problem, but Jim came in, unhooked the water softener (that we thought was not hooked up) and we had water pressure again! Jim made sure we had what we needed (new toilet parts) but didn't try to sell us anything we didn't. I will definitely use Norblom again and recommend to others! FYI - I joined Angie's List just to find a plumber, since we didn't know any and no one we know seemed to have good recommendations. GREAT first impression!

It all went extremely smoothly. He was here for 3 hrs & 15 mins. I was working on another project at the time, but my in-laws were working with Paul (from Norblom) and declared him extremely competent, "a national treasure," and told me to ask for him every time we need plumbing work done.
Description of Work: Cut out & capped-off supply to the side-front silcock, cut out basement shower & capped waters & drain, pulled & reset basement toilet, replaced fill valve & flapper on basement toilet, & converted portable dishwasher to have water & drain lines connect under sink cabinets (instead of connecting it to the sink faucet).

All around, a wonderful experience with Norblom! Initially called and spoke with Steve about the kitchen remodel I was doing and acting as GC. Steve was very helpful offering me some advice about scheduling the trades and how the plumbing fit into the overall plan. I was able to get someone to come out early the following week which was perfect. Jim arrived on time, got right to work, was super friendly and professional. He too was so helpful providing me with tips and suggestions about my kitchen project which I really appreciated. As soon as my countertops are in, I'll be calling them back to finish the job. Definitely would recommend these guys to anyone, my experience was nothing but positive.

Mike showed up on time and replaced our water heater without incident. Made some adjustments/recomendations to ensure that we didn't incur additional, unnecessary, costs. Pricing was better (by a lot!) than other quotes I received. Will be going back to Norblom for any additional plumbing services we need. Have already recommended Norblom to our neighbor who requires plumbing work.

I purposely chose this provider due to their record & ratings on Angie's list and they did not dissapoint. Jim showed up promptly at the early end of the 2 hour window they gave me and was very professional and polite. He immediately got to work and was able to fix my problem quickly. Pricing was as expected via what I was quoted over the phone when I made the appointment and he even allowed me to show him my Angie's list coupon on my computer since I had forgotten to print it. Overall a great experience & I will definitely use this company again in the future.

We needed a new water heater, and sooner rather than later. I noticed Norblom was the first on Angie's List when you type in "water heater" with a ton of reviews, so I purposely called others to give them business. I called Norblom at the end, and they were able to come out the soonest (same day!) and replace it for the cheapest of anyone. I called at 8:45 and they were there by 12:00. I guess there's a reason they get the good reviews! The guy's name was Paul, he was on time, friendly, he worked quickly, explained everything, and said to call them with any questions at all. I would use them again without a doubt.

This company was great! We talked about estimates. They hooked me up with their wholesaler. I was able to visit their showroom, picked out my fixtures and scheduled the install. The plumber came on time, removed and installed in 2 1/2 hours. He was great, professional, capable and finished in no time at all. (His name was Kris.) Will use them for any future jobs. Very, very good experience!

I purchased the parts to repair one of our upstairs bathroom toilets that had its guts breakdown. We had just fixed up the basement bathroom below this and had spent lots of money on a complete remodel. My wife decided it might not be in our best interest for me to practice trying to repair a toilet that might lead to a leak that would ruin the new bathroom below so she strongly encouraged me to call a professional. She also decided that I should purchase a new toilet instead of having the old one repaired. I decided to try Angie's list and so I signed up and then called the first plumber I saw that was reasonably close and serviced our area plus had a high rating. I spent a long time reading glowing remarks about this company and so I gave them a call. I was quite surprised when the person who called me back the next day flatly and abruptly refused to come out and do the job because I had already purchased a toilet. I thought the person was very terse and just left me hanging, offering us no alternatives, I certainly understand why he didn't want a dunderhead like me to purchase a toilet. I can imagine how frustrating it must be to work with customers who might get the wrong toilet like I did or who might purchase a cheap brand that makes their ability to do a quality job very difficult. I might have caught this person at a bad time so I don't want to say the name of the company but I would say he was gruff and seemed to lack people skills. I then spent more time on Angie's list and came upon Norblom Plumbing which also had many glowing reports. The person on the phone was very pleasant and helpful. She set up a time with a small window of arrival and made it much sooner than I expected (the next day which was great for a non-emergency job). The Plumber came on time and was also very friendly and helpful. Paul listened to what we wanted to have done. He inspected the toilet we purchased and soon it was discovered I had purchased the wrong size toilet (elongated when I needed a round bowl). Instead of getting upset or making me feel like an idiot (which I pretty much am), he got right down to problem solving so we could salvage his trip out. He offered to go pick-up a toilet or to have me go get one while he disassembled the old toilet. I called the place I had purchased the toilet from and they didn't make that one in a round so he suggested it would save time (& money) if I went to get a new toilet while he continued to disassemble the old one. While I had originally picked up a fancy, expensive dual flush Kohler toilet from Ferguson's, he suggested I go get a basic but quality toilet from Menards or Home Depot. While I was gone, he had discovered that our toilet had a slow leak and was not sitting level so he rebuilt the area, leveled it, and then applied his own wax ring and hardware that were superior to what was going to come in the toilet I purchased. When I got back, he installed the new, correct toilet and sealed around the toilet with caulk. The cost was a bit greater than what was quoted only because I didn't have the correct toilet on hand and delayed his installation because I had to go purchase one while he was on the clock. He didn't mind that I watched him and asked him questions along the way (like I was his apprentice readying myself for my next toilet install - yes I am delusional). We had a few good chuckles while he efficiently kept working despite my inane banter. Soon, he was caulking around the toilet base, cleaning up, and ready to leave. I asked him to look at two upcoming jobs we had on the horizon and he gave me his opinion on what we might do and then he was off, thankfully taking the old toilet with him. Later, I called the company and left a message because I thought there might be a small leak. About 6 hours after the install, a quarter-sized pool of water formed near the caulk on the side he had repaired. We hadn't used the toilet but had flushed it a few times. It turned out NOT to be a leak but just in case it was, they sent Paul back out at the end of the next workday to inspect it and he ended up pulling the toilet off and observed there was no leak and then re-caulked. Even though it was at the end of a very hot day and he had to undo his previous work only to find no problem, he was extremely pleasant and understood our concern. In fact, I couldn't be home and so my son was there with a diagram I had drawn to show him what I had observed. He took the time to call me on my cell phone (I was at my father's estate sale) and let me know what he had discovered. I couldn't believe how thoughtful he was for doing that. This gave both my wife and I great piece of mind that no leaking onto the bathroom below was taking place. My experience with Paul and all of the people at Norblom Plumbing was extremely pleasant. It can be very stressful knowing that you lack the skills/confidence to DIY and therefore must pay premium plumber costs. Norblom Plumbing was upfront with the costs and they were all very friendly (and understanding of us dunderheads) and extremely professional in their workmanship. I would use these guys in a heart beat. What great service!!!

Representative seemed well qualified.Had some difficulty identifying source of leak and unfortunately resorted to putting some holes in the wall.As it turnred out this was unnecessary .I understand ,sometimes this is the way it goes,I guess. The leak was fixed for $404.48 of which labor was 85% of the cost due to the time it took to diagnose. My experience was exacerbatted by the fact that the person recommended to repair wall damage has not returned my call and now has a full voicemail box.I called the company to ask for some help and ,basically was told ,it was my problem.and offered zero assistance

Response from Norblom Plumbing
Sometimes we must open walls/ceiling to see what is taking place with the plumbing that is hidden behind those walls. This is always a last resort. In this case, as we do for any or our customers, we give the option to the member/customer, as a last resort, if they want us to continue on and open some areas to determine where the issue is located. Before we open walls/ceilings for a customer, we make sure each customer is aware that we are only Plumbers, and while we can easily open the walls/ceilings, we cannot repair those same holes we just created. We do recommend a contractors that we use on a regular basis for our full remodel work we perform. Beyond that recommendation, we refer customers to look for other contractors on Angie's List. While this member was satisfied with the work Norblom Plumbing performed, the member was not happy that we could only recommend one contractor for the repair. Unfortunately, we have only one contractor that we will refer that will do the quality of work that we would stand behind. That contractor may be very busy at the moment, and while we highly recommend him, we do not force any of our customers to use them. Who the customer uses for these repairs is entirely a customer choice and we make sure our customers understand this before we make any holes. In this case, we failed on making sure this customer understood this process. We apologize for this misunderstanding. Norblom Plumbing 612.827.4033

Norblom plumbing had a plumber to my house on the same day I called. He provided great service and the job was done well with no leaks afterwards. I'd definitely use them again.
Description of Work: I bought a new garbage disposal but discovered it was too large to fit the original pipes when I tried to install it. The plumbing under the kitchen sink was in a really weird configuration when I bought the house and it caused smelly, standing water all the time, so the plumber replaced all the drain pipes and installed them according to code. He then finished installing the disposal for me. He also discovered that my original disposal wasn't the problem causing water not to drain, but that the drain pipe leading into the basement was clogged.

I called Friday morning and was lucky, they had Jim just finishing a job in Saint Paul. He arrived at 12:30 PM and got right to work. The spigot couldn't be repaired so he replaced it and added a shut off valve inside in the basement. Jim was very fast and efficient and knew exactly what to do. His work was professional and he cleaned up after himself. I was lucky they could get over right away otherwise I may have been without water for the weekend or pay overtime rates. Thank you Norblom and thank you Jim for a job well done.

The plumber installed the two valves. He showed us what he had done. The next day we found water dripping from the adjoining bathroom ceiling and the wall was wet. Upon investigation we saw that water was spraying from the connection of one of the valves and caused damage to walls and ceiling of the bathroom. We contacted Norblom and they came out within two hours to replace the leaking valve. We filed a claim for damages against Norblom and received payment from the insurance carrier. The poor soldering job on the valve connection by Norblom plumbing was the problem.

My husband removed 1 of our outside faucets last Fall to install a new frost-free faucet, and it didn't go as planned. The plumbing in the basement was through a crawl space and behind the chimney footings (very dark and cramp space). After my husband made several attempts to install the new pipe, and I asked several times to just bring in a plumber; I decided to just contact a good plumber using my Angie's List search. I scheduled a plumber to come out during the day when he was at work. Sneaky I know, but it got the job done and took a huge project off of my husband's "To-Do" list. I received a call in the morning stating they had a cancellation and asked if someone could come out earlier than originally scheduled. I was happy that they could get the job going sooner as I had not been able to use this faucet for over 10 months. Jim arrived soon afterwards and I showed him the crawl space in the basement and explained that it was behind the chimney footings. He returned to his truck to get his knee pads because it is a long crawl to get to the back where the pipe had been cut. After 2 hours, removing the duct work that was in the way, notching an inch out of the floor joists (which doesn't affect the integrity of the joist I know from watching a lot of HGTV), and 9 trips back and forth to the exterior and his truck he got the job done. He said this was in the top 5 hardest plumbing jobs he has had to face, but he loved a good challenge and commended my husband for even attempting to try to do it in the 1st place. Jim was always polite and considerate and was a pleasure work with. I will definitely call Norblom Plumbing in the future. They are my new plumbers without a doubt.
