The plumber noticed the problem was in the pipe and not the disposal itself. So no need to replace the disposal. Saved me the cost in the disposal and labor. After unclogging the pipe and replacing it ... all is well.
Description of Work: Unclogged pipe leading away from the garbage disposal.

The original request was to fix the gas supply line to install a new range. Plumber determined that gas supply pipe needed to be shorter and the valve needed to be added on the same floor of house as the range. The dishwasher needed the water supply shortened to fit under new dishwasher. The plumber completed the piping change including the addition of a new valve. He then completed the installation of the dishwasher including leveling and attaching to cabinets.
Description of Work: Installed a new dishwasher after modifying the water supply piping. Modified the gas supply line for a new range including adding a new shut off valve to bring to code.

1st time I've used them and couldn't be more pleased with the service and price. I was able to email Mike pictures of the old unit so he could see what he was dealing with. A different Mike did the install, and I think it took him a little under 2 hours, which is pretty good considering I had him do some additional piping repair. Mike arrived on time and was busy working the whole time. He also identified an existing exhaust pipe that was never sealed, which is something I really appreciate. Piping and Water Heater look good. The new Water Heater just passed my cities local inspection with no problems. FYI, prior to having Norblom due the work, I made the mistake of having Bonfe's come out, and paid the $89 service fee just to have them tell me what I already knew. Bonfe's wanted to charge me two half times as much for the new water heater, and said I needed an additional vent, which turned out to not be needed. It was tough to let the $89 go but I'm glad I went with Norblom.
Description of Work: Mike replaced my leaking 40 gal., 23 yr. old, A.O. Smith gas Water Heater with a new Bradford White 40 gal power vent. He had to replace a bad shut off valve, add a 45 degree piece to the exhaust pipe, and made some modifications to the copper water lines and gas line. He identified a part of the original exhaust pipe that the installer of the old Water Heater forgot to seal.

I called Norblum based on great reviews I'd read--I had my fingers crossed they'd have someone available right away and thankfully they did. I asked for a rough estimate over the phone and the very nice woman I spoke to said that they charge by the time spent, rather than the job--plumbing ain't cheap, but I appreciate having an idea of what you're going to pay before the plumber even sets foot in the door. She was able to send Jim out the following day--I was given a two hour window of time (9-11) that he'd arrive. Jim called around 9:50 and said he was just finishing up a job in Burnsville and that GPS said about 25 mins away. He showed up about 20 minutes later and got right to work. Super nice guy and very professional--gave me good advice about what kind of garbage disposal to look for in the future when it comes time to replace it. He was done in about an hour and a half. He also loved my dog (who also loved him!) and we chatted about dogs for a couple minutes after he was done and I had paid. We are brand new homeowners so have never had to call a plumber for anything before--Norblum is our new go to!

I bought the new toilet deal for $350 -- included installation and hauling away old toilet. I upgraded to comfort height toilet and there was one part (toilet supply line) that had to be replaced beyond the deal. Altogether it was an extra $92.50. Still a great deal. JW was very professional and very helpful.

I called Norblom Plumbing due to some mold having appeared on my downstairs bathroom ceiling. Directly above the apparrant leak was my upstairs bathroom and toilet. Before Norblom arrived I purchased a new toilet at the local Home Depot (an American Standard rated highly by Consumer Reports). The new toilet had the comfort level seat. Paul arrived, took a look at the downstairs leak and proceeded to remove the upstairs toilet. The toilet had been loose. Paul inspected the area and felt that the leak was small and had probably come from the loose connection. Paul tightened the flange, put down a new wax ring and installed the new toilet. He proceeded to recommend replacing the downstairs ceiling, both to get a better look at the area of the leak, insuring that it was fixed and to remove the mold. Paul was very professional and did a great job.
Description of Work: Replaced toilet.

They found time for me in their busy schedule because they knew I had a rental inspection deadline coming up. I chose Norblom because their project inspector, Steve Morse, came out promptly after I called the company and was very helpful in explaining what might need to be done. I had several contacts with him while the project was going on and he always got back to me promptly and ways friendly, patient and always helpful. I really felt supported. Darrin, the main plumber who did the work obviously took pleasure in doing an excellent job. He was always prompt and if needing to be a bit late, he would always contact me. He was friendly and always willing to answer my questions. This job turned out to be more complex then we all originally thought, but the bath and utility sink are now up to code and in the process a cracked pipe was discovered which is now fixed. Had to have another plumber come out today to bring the water heaters up to code. Andrew was friendly, efficient and in and out in about an hour. I appreciate that the company bills in 15 min increments and no travel time. It is still a costly process, but more economical if only partial hours are needed. I highly recommend Norblom and would call them again if in need of plumbing services.
Description of Work: Brought plumbing up to code in a full bathroom. Lots of work was needed. This is a very old duplex and the bathroom was in the attic and work needed to be done from the basement, up three floors to the attic. A utility sink also needed to be brought up to code. Also brought water heaters up to code -- needed some minor work.

Paul seemed very impatient and rough and made myself and husband worried he stated we should have kept instructions and said we would need to go through wall and then cut it off I then asked for a quote on fixing outdoor faucet and putting in shut off valve which was also scheduled for quote when I called. Again he was very impatient about this and we said to forget it and just asked how much to install new outdoor faucet in a different place and he was finally pleasant about this. I had tried finding a video to help with our type of faucett but did not find one while he was there. I tried getting faucet off after he left and I got it in about five minutes Dont know if I want to use them to fix problem as it is not just a valve I went through them because of positive evals but don't know how we got such a bad result from them
Description of Work: could not take off faucet on tub said would have to cut off and go through wall said the linking faucet on sink would be too much to fix so did not do that either

Response from Norblom Plumbing
Sorry to hear about the poor experience. Hopefully we can rectify for you. We have reviewed the Plumber’s notes for the visit. It looks as if he attempted to take the tub faucet apart to repair. It was fairly old and corroded and the Plumber warned that if he put any more pressure to remove, the faucet may break. His notes state that you didn't want him to go any further as nobody wanted it to break. The Plumber recommended replacing the fixture rather than trying to repair and to do so, he would have to go through the wall to replace. He gave you a price for this. For the outside faucet that needed the new inside valve, there was no access to install this valve unless he opened upstairs and understandably you chose not to have this done. From our perspective, it looks as if we wanted to help but there were circumstances that would require making holes in walls for what was requested. If you think this was poorly evaluated by the Plumber (Paul), we will gladly send a different Plumber for a 2nd opinion without any cost to you? Our goal is to deliver quality service, at a fair price. We care about our customers, we want to do what is right, and we want to do our best. Let us know and we will get it on the schedule immediately. Thank you! Norblom Plumbing 612.827.4033 ================

Very pleased with the service from Norblom Plumbing. Second time I've used them and I'll definitely use them again. They arrived on time, completed the work quickly and it was installed as expected. Everything works great and we have hot showers again. We discussed pricing over the phone when I scheduled the appointment and there were no surprises when it came time to pay.

Called on Monday and they scheduled for the same morning. Zach came out and did a through and great job. Cleared the line and gave us tips so it wouldn't happen again. He also went through the house to make sure that clearing that line didn't cause a problem elsewhere in the house. The process could not have gone any smoother or better. We are completely satisfied. Thank you.

All three items were things that had needed attention for a long time and I finally got around to calling for the work to be done. I have had a number of jobs done by Norblom and the work has all been done by Jim, who always does an excellent job. He arrived promptly and got to work right away. He put down a tarp in the bathroom to keep things clean and carefully wrapped the old toilet to take out to his truck. He also took out the boxes from the new toilet. He is always very professional, but at the same time is very personable. He patiently listens to my questions and answers them in a way that I can understand. It was an expensive morning, but I was prepared for that and I know I received quality work and quality products. I found Norblom on Angie's List a number of years ago and it is so comforting knowing I have a plumber I can count on.

It was not completed because the provided didn’t have a part. For not completing the job, were still charged $186 and I was told that it would cost another $500 - $1000 to replace the part in the shower and we bought the part ourselves from Home Depot. Another plumber came out and charged us $125 and it was fixed. Norblom was not even able to diagnose the problem, what was wrong with the shower.

I don't have an issue with Curt, the plumber who came out to the house -- he was on time and courteous, and quickly diagnosed the problem with my toilet. I had just replaced a broken flush lever on the toilet, and for some reason the tank stopped filling with water. I recently sold the house and wanted to deal with this quickly, so I called Norblom based on the glowing reviews it got here (after Mpls-St Paul Heating and Plumbing never got back to me -- they lost my phone number or something). Curt arrived and within 10 minutes he had fixed things by bending the interior arm of the flush lever, the thing that trips the flushing mechanism. That's all that was needed. I was fully aware that a house visit cost $100, which would be reduced with the 5% coupon. But I really thought that perhaps this kind of fix -- so incredibly simple and quick -- warranted some break in the cost. I didn't argue with him -- he was in the right, and I paid up. But a business providing truly outstanding customer service, I think, would have voluntarily and cheerfully taken less money. If they had, they certainly would have a better chance of getting my business next time.

They were running early, so he called to see if he could move the appointment up, which was perfect. He checked out our gas appliances before he turned the gas off to note which pilot lights to relight when he was finished. Made quick work for it, was professional and friendly. Re-light the pilot light on our water heater (which previous plumbers have not done), and put everything back exactly how it was when he was done. Couldn't be happier! Will definitely call them again.

This was unbelievable. The plumber was extremely nice and helpful. First, he really listened to my plumbing dilemma. Then, he fixed my water pressure in my sink and in my upstairs bathroom. He was quick. AND he saved me major money by telling me the faucet was still under warranty and could be easily fixed by calling Grohe directly and asking for the parts. (I thought I needed a whole new faucet, but I just called Grohe and they are sending the parts. FREE! Just as he said.) As background, a few years ago I had someone come out to fix the same water pressure issue and was told it was not fixable. Ha! The Norblom guy was very so kind, was not annoyed by all my questions, and fixed my problem. What more can you ask for? I would recommend them in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: I had terrible water pressure in my upstairs bath tub and in my kitchen hot water. It was so depressing. So I hired them to fix it. In addition my fancy kitchen faucet was broken so I had bought a new one and was going to have that installed.

The woman who took my phone call was very friendly and helpful. The plumber actually showed up a day early due to a mix-up on the scheduling. He showed up on time. He diagnosed the problem. He solved the problem. He left. He was nice while here and explained everything. The experience could not be improved upon. Not much else could be said.
Description of Work: I had a floor drain in the basement that was flooding when our washing machine emptied its water into the basement sink. The plumber was a super nice, solved the problem, and did not try to upsell us on anything. This individual plumber that came out, the only thing he does is clear pipes that are flooding so he is pretty much an expert on that, which is what we wanted. All in all, a good deal.

Overall a good experience. I own a duplex that needed new hot water heaters on both sides which Norblom quoted for the best price and were the most friendly. I needed to install a new water softener as well, however the options they had were too expensive and too high quality for what I needed. They said they could install a softener from a big box store for the cost of labor and parts, so I bought one at Lowes. They were able to come out to complete the work within couple days. The technician was prompt, very friendly, and knowledgeable. The work on the water heaters went quickly and they were up and running in no time. I did have some trouble with the water softener from Lowes. During installation, a plastic fitting on the softener developed a crack that required the technician to drive to Lowes and get a replacement (all while on the clock). Lowes provided a replacement part quickly and the technician was back to work. That evening we checked on the softener and noticed the same (new) part was leaking slightly. It was at a point were the plastic part was connecting to the copper fitting. I called Norblom the next day and they came right out to fix it. Everything has been working well since.
