Mr. How Do You Do It

Ben Lindow installed two exterior doors recently in my 1927 home. It was a difficult and complicated job, as the house had non-standard sizes for things and has shifted and moved as all old homes do, but Ben patiently worked it all out, and now we have two beautiful, well-fitted, secure and weatherproof doors on our home. I could not be more grateful. Definitely would recommend his work, and he's a nice guy, too.

Ben really went the extra mile to make sure that the new back door and storm door fit tightly and locked securely. This was quite a challenge, since our 1887 house has settled unevenly over the decades, and the door size was far from standard! Very pleased with his work.

Ben was really helpful in preparing my new office to move in. From painting and assembling furniture to building a kitchenette, his work was excellent. He was easy to work with and responsive. He communicated and was available. I appreciated his work and will continue to use him as necessary.

Best repair experience I've had with my old house in years! II had a basement window that would not close because it had grown too big to fit into the frame due to moisture problems. I thought I would need to replace it and was worried whether they even sold these type windows anymore. Ben very cleverly decided he could take the window out and shave wood off the bottom and replace it - that idea worked perfectly! Problem solved by a person who obviously knows what he's doing. I'm going to use him for other projects I've been concerned about getting done. I'm so glad I found him on Angi.

Ben has done several projects for us over the last couple of years. He is always punctual, polite, and does very high quality work. He's replaced doors, windows and exterior trim work at our house in St. Paul. It's an old house so the projects can be more challenging than in a newer place. Ben has a lot of attention to detail and makes sure the job is done right. He has stayed late several times to ensure the project is done correctly. I would highly recommend Mr. How Do You Do It and will be hiring them again for future projects.

We were very happy with the work done by Ben and his crew. They were extremely hard-working and skilled, taking their time to do high quality work. We had a lot of rotten wood siding and trim that needed to be replaced before a complete exterior paint job, and they did an excellent job. They were professional and easy to work with. We have a few more projects around the house we need done soon, and we won't hesitate to call Ben to complete them.

Benjamin has an abundance of knowledge for fixing anything & just about everything. He took a project that was stressful & made it easy for us. We hired Benjamin to build an interior wall and a door, with a total length of about 6 feet. We needed this to create a bedroom in our basement. We are very happy with the finished product. We finally have our basement bedroom. We appreciate that he left the painting and staining to us to help us save money on the costs. While he was in, he was also able to replace a broken garbage disposal in our sink.

Ben did a great job and cleaned up everything. We've gotten lots of compliments!

He ran late on a job and missed the first appointment, then we had some confusion about the reschedule. The day he did come he was on time, tidy, and professional. Overall I was satisfied and would use his services again

Ben was fabulous. He was on-time, professional, he did great work and his pricing was fair. He hung a television on the wall (where there were no studs). He replaced a garbage disposal, replaced windows, fixed a broken door, cleaned dryer vents and did some wiring repairs for the house. Everything was done perfectly. We are very, very pleased and thankful for Ben! I had called and contacted many contractors and handymen and no one had time or wanted to go up that high to repair the fascia board. Ben came right over to give an estimate and was able to get it fixed within a week. He was very professional and did excellent work for a very reasonable price. I will definitely call him again!

Ben is wrapping up the tail end of my basement finish. He's been fantastic the entire time, from coming and getting me a quote to the quality of the work performed (framing, insulation, drywall, mud & tape). He's turned my concrete and block basement into a great looking, usable space that I can continue to enjoy. I would definitely hire again in the future for other jobs.

Ben was very professional in his assessment of the situation. He removed the broken piece, recommended where to find a replacement part and showed me how to install it. Using Ben's advice, I successfully repaired the dresser drawer in a few short minutes! I highly recommend Ben for your home repair needs.

He was easy to communicate with (despite the fact that my phone broke a couple of days before service and I needed to change the date because my movers were late). He helped make at least one aspect of a stressful time (moving) peaceful and simple.

Ben is easy to work with because he listens to what you want, tries to accommodate without upselling, and presents you with design choices. This project, to some extent, evolved as the work progressed. We made decisions together. Working this way seemed agreeable to Ben and to us.

I actually felt bad for the dude since the old plumbing and my small bathroom were such a pain. But he got it all back up and running.
