GREAT. I love the results. The estimator was wonderful, the guy who came to install, great too. All worked out smoothly and for a great price!

It went very well. I had also gotten a quote from Anderson Renewal and they were almost twice the price of the Marvin windows. The job was done at 2 different dates due to the remodel of the kitchen. Each job took about an hour per window. I replace the first 2 windows with new high efficiency double hung windows and the window in the kitchen I changed to a high efficiency awning window, (allowing me to more easily access over the counter, etc.). After the awning window was installed, I had a question about the latch system and the installer came right back to resolve it.
Description of Work: Replace 3 windows. Two were existing double hung windows which drafty and had storm windows that were extremely heavy and difficult to change. The 3rd window was in the kitchen and also a double hung window. This one was difficult to use because of the height on the wall & location of the window.

Purchased new side door for my garage May 2016. The door itself looked fine, but the installer put no casing around inside of door. Shims, caulking, and insulation were left visible. Salesman Mark ignored my phone calls and emails for two months. But Gladstone eventually did send the installer back to finish the job.

We decided to use Gladstones as they were about 5% cheaper than Scherer Bros for Marvin line, what a huge mistake. The entire processes has been horrible. The communication of when installation would occur was horrific and they subcontract out for installation so the installer showed up multiple quality defects from Marvin and also Gladstone's pre-finisher. The trim they ordered and painted was oak well guys guess what oak grained trim painted looks terrible, shouldn't they know that? They ate the cost of that and fixed that and then fixed the pre-finisher issues after 6 months of constant hounding by me. In all that time I never got a single call from them asking how things were going! They then have the audacity to not take responsibility for their relationship with Marvin. They told me a month ago a Marvin rep would call me still waiting! I would stay as far away from this company as possible as their customer service is horrible as stated in other reviews.

When i met the provider Ralph from Gladstone's windows and door. He was very friendly and provided an estimates , which they stuck to. every one i dealt with from Gladstone was nice at first. We set up the job i paid the deposit 4200.00. And waited fro my windows this was November. the windows should have been installed in January. I wated and waited and nothing happen in feb. I called to see what was happening. they said the windows were in and the installer was on vacation. they did not know when he would be back. when he did return he said he would be out in a week . two weekd later i had not heard from him. I calle the company they said they did not have a good number for him so they gave me a shop number. this guy took another two weeks to call. he finally showed p I think this was march. he put the window half way in and disaperred for another 3 weeks. during this time the company Gladstone did not knlw he was working on another job, no one from Gladstone checked on my job. when the job was done it was wrong they did not put a bottom ledeg on the window. when i ask to speak to a manager he nevered called. when i contacted the sales man he said i did not install your windows. we arguere dand they finally installed a cosmetec ledge on the window because the windows did not fit properly. they still do not look properly in stalled from the outside. the molding around the Window is uneven, these people cannot controlled their subcontract workers. I will not do business with them again. More was wrong to much to type about. Beware of this provider. i went to them because i saw good ratings on Angie's list.

We bought a Acclimated fiberglass door through them and an Anderson storm/screen door. Dave came out and gave us an estimate after we stopped into the store to look at a different door. He was very helpful, knew the products and was not pushy. Answered all our questions. Door came earlier than they had said and was scheduled within a week to put it in. Installer was very punctual and efficient, friendly and did a great job. Cleaned up everything, explained what he was doing and answered all questions. We're very happy with the doors and with Gladstone's. We would definitely use them again. Dave especially was a wonderful salesperson. He's the reason we actually had them come out and gave them our business after he helped us in the store.

Service was great. Shopped around with a couple of competitors and felt that Gladstone's service and the Marvin were great for our application. Other companies we worked with tried to convenience us they had a superior product and spent over an hour trying to sell us their windows. Brian Long was great to work with, answered all our questions and the appointment took about 30mins.

I decided to go with them because I had actually used them before. They pretty much kept me informed and explained the work well, they were able to email me with the information that I needed and they pretty much cleaned up after themselves. They had to come and do a little bit more work, but I'm pretty confident that they will once and for all do the wrap on the outside. They are not the cheapest, but they are a good value for the money. They were professional. There were a couple of things that I didn't think they were completely professional, but they weren't a problem. I am going to use them in the future.

After checking out a few places, we decided to go with Gladstone's even though the price was high. They were able to answer all our questions at the initial decision making phase. We signed a contract, gave a deposit. They came out and measured all windows and doors. About a week later we were told the door we ordered would not fit. A new door was picked out. We wanted a stained looking door on the inside and a painted door on the outside to match our house color. It took two weeks to get samples as they do not carry samples and had to special order. I had to call many times to get information as to the delay on getting samples. Which in turn delayed the order of the door. When I did call with questions, I either had to leave a message (which was NEVER returned) or keep calling until I reached my salesman. The response I usually received was, I'll have to check on that and get back to you (which NEVER happened) The customer service was non existent. Keep in mind that this poor service was prior to windows being installed. I wonder what kind of response I will get if I need to have them come back and repair anything. The installation went well and the installers were professional, they were willing to answer my questions and show me what they were doing, but the customer service from the salesman was absent. We ordered the windows in Aug, Installation of windows was the 3rd week in Oct, the door came in just prior to Christmas (the door company had problems getting material needed) and installed then. The cladding on the exterior portion of the windows were finished at the end of Dec as they ran out the material they needed to finish.

Brian Long came to my home, measured my windows, answered my questions, and submitted an estimate to me. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions. The estimate was a little less than the company I chose to install the same line of Marvin windows, but this estimate did not include varnishing the new interior window trim, only staining the wood.

We are replacing two entry doors in our house and decided to find out more about Therma Tru doors and the cost involved to replace our doors. Therma Tru's web site listed Gladstone's Window and Door Store as a recommended contractor. We have heard good things about Gladstone in the past. We set up a time for an estimate. The estimate went really smooth and we were impressed with Gladstone. Their bid was the lowest of the three we received but to be fair they didn't include new stained interior trim or factory cladding the front door which we wanted. They stated it would be better to wrap it in the field in case the door jam had to be cut because we have rock exterior by the front door. After over two months of looking and comparing quotes and products we decided not to use Therma Tru as our door and decided to go with ProVia Doors instead. We contacted Gladstone and inquired if they sold and installed ProVia doors and they said they only sell and install storm doors in the ProVia line. We had a very enjoyable experience with Gladstone and if they sold and installed ProVia entry doors we would probably have used them.

We went to Gladstones' store to ascertain whether they could help with non-standard exterior door sizes. Hours at the sales center are very limited, with weekend hours only on Saturday morning, so we'd planned ahead specifically to visit (and hopefully special order some doors). While there, we first looked around at the sales floor, and were never approached by staff. We then walked up to the counter where several salespeople and staff were milling about, and were ignored for some time, until we asked "Can anyone here sell us some doors?" The salesman "assigned" to us (they all seemed reluctant) heard our request and suggested a brand. We asked if they had any in-store to look at, so we could get an idea of quality and appearance. At this time, another staff member came over to tell the salesman something, and he said he'd be right back. Before he left, I asked him to at least point us in the direction of the doors we could look at - he told us where on the floor they were located, so we wandered over to look. And - couldn't find this company's doors ANY where. We perused for some time, 15 minutes or so, and no one came to help us (it's not a large sales floor, we were pretty obviously looking for help). We decided to leave, and the staff member who'd interrupted us earlier watched us walk across the sales floor to the door and leave, and never said a word. After returning home, we searched online for the line of doors the salesman had suggested, only to learn that the brochure he gave us listed a newly branded name, and they DID have the doors on the sales floor under the OLD name. He directed us to the right part of the sales floor, but didn't mention that all the doors were listed under a totally different name - we'd never have found them! We needed five exterior doors, including french patio doors, and all new windows in the next few years as well, so Gladstone's effectively lost many thousands of our dollars with such disrespectful, poor service. We were frankly very surprised and disappointed.

Response from Gladstone's Window & Door Store
I am responding to a letter that I just received from Angie's List from a member. She visited our store May of 2009. It is hard to respond to a disappointed customer from 7 months ago not being able to interview our employees about what might have happened. If the member was in our store on Saturday, May 16th we did have a hard time waiting on over 300 people here to take part in our Customer Appreciation Day. I apologize for that sales person that waited on her if she didn't get the immediate attention that we give our customers when they enter the showroom. Saturday's are normally very busy but we try very hard to wait on customers in the order that they arrive. We sell over 5 different manufactured entry door systems and they are continually adding, changing, or discontinuing styles and in most cases we do not get new catalogs from them for several weeks, while the manufacture had them online immediately. We have always been concerned that our customers be greeted and waited on as soon as we have finished with an existing consumer. We make no excuses about really trying hard to find the right door or window for a customers house.

The view windows leaked with the first heavy rains. It turns out their installer did not seal the glass properly within the frames, and when it was brought to his attention, he only offered a quick fix to apply the silicone seal around the glass within the frames. Both Gladstone and Marvin state this is not an adequate repair as it could seal in moisture, and that each glass would have to be removed first to seal the space properly prior to re-inserting, a major project. Meanwhile, since Marvin learned of the water intrusion, they voided part of their warranty on the frame, even if we use Marvin, at full cost to us, to do the proper repair. While Bob Long agrees the installation and proposed repair by his installer were both faulty, he will not stand behind the installation of his product by his installer to make us whole.
Description of Work: Marvin referred me to Gladstone to install their windows and doors. Gladstone came to our home and discussed the products, options and prices, but when it came to the actual installation they told us they didn't install in our area and we should use Windows Plus, who they use for their installations in our area. The job was to replace and install four 3-wide sliding patio doors and 3 large view windows.

Response from Gladstone's Window & Door Store
I am responding to a letter sent to Angie's List by this member about some windows and patio doors installed by a company other than ours. The member was given the name of the other company by us for some window products that she wanted installed. The installation company went to her home, measured and wrote up their proposal for the window products that they agreed upon. The installation company then called us for a quote on the windows and patio doors that they would install. They requested that the windows be shipped with "dry glazing". (Glass would be taken out of the frames for ease of installation, and then reinstalled). The member called us some time later to complain that her windows were leaking. We sent one of our men out to check her windows and it was later discovered that when the glass was installed into the units by the installation company that no sealant was used around the glass. I suggested that since she had a contract with them that she call the installation company and have them reseal all the windows. I also called the window company's service department and asked if they would call the member. Galdstone's did not install the windows and doors at the member's home. We sold the window units to the installation company that they ordered from us. We had no control on the installation procedure done by the installation company.
