We worked with Joe at All Seasons Fireplace on 394 in St. Louis Park. Our project took about a month to complete. Because of the delivery time of the stove we knew it would be that long so that is why we started in the spring. Once the stove came in they came right out and installed it. The HVAC guys did a nice clean job of making the gas line the least noticeable as possible. The building inspector approved it and we were ready to go. Our whole experience with everyone was good.
Description of Work: Install free standing gas appliance in our basement. It looks like a wood stove.

Overall it was ok, mainly because the people were nice from the sales process, in-home estimate and installation. Almost every step of the process was tinged by something, though, making it less than great: The sales process seemed great at first, we were given a costs & timing estimate, which would be understandably revised after the in-home estimate. The sales guy even mentioned it was good we were doing this in early September to beat the rush and get on their schedule before it gets too cold. The in-home estimate came in 15-20% higher than the sales room estimate, which was for valid reasons, but felt a little bit like a bait-and-switch because of its significance. So far, so okay. We decided within a day to move forward with the project, paid upfront for the fireplace itself, and they'd get in touch with us to schedule the installation once the product was in their warehouse in "a week or so" or something vague. I called the store two weeks later asking for an update, since we were excited about having a fireplace before it got cold. The sales guy I spoke to thought the installer should have called me already, so he'd follow up making sure the installer called "all the customers he hasn't called yet" tomorrow. I do get a call the next day but the next available installation day that worked for our schedule was a whole month away, since they were already busy with the seasonal rush we were supposed to have been ahead of. So, it's starting to get cold. We are bummed out not able to use our wood fireplace (because it had been cleaned for the gas insert) and waiting until the end of October. Installation day seemed a-okay. The installers were on time, friendly, and kept everything very clean. We discussed a couple things and it all went well, the owner and another installer were there. They did leave some parts of the old fireplace frame sitting on the side of my house though, which I found a couple days later. Inspection day was a couple days later, and the city inspector looked at the gas lines and noticed they had mixed up two lines, and the installer would have to come back to fix it. Sigh. I also realize this is why we had trouble with our gas dryer the night before. So, I immediately call the installer and the owner comes over right away. He confirms there was a mix up and apologizes, fixes it and finishes setting up and testing everything out, including my dryer. At this point, everything's fine, we run the fireplace for a few hours to burn off the initial smell, and we're very happy with how it works and looks. It's just a month later than we hoped. Now, a month and a half later, I get a call from the sales guy again. They hadn't billed us for the remaining installation costs. So, I give him my credit card and we're done.
Description of Work: We converted our wood burning fireplace to a gas fireplace with a gas fireplace insert.

The appointment was made for 8:00 AM and the serviceman came from the opposite side of the metro, he was here at 8:00 promptly. I explained that the flame on the fireplace was mostly blue and we could barely see it. He said that is how that 20 year old model is and he couldn't do much about it. He then asked if I wanted him to try and help it to which I said yes. He took everything apart and cleaned the glass, replenished the embers and adjusted the flame. All of that and he knocked $50 off of the fee. The flame actually looks quite a bit better and I'm very happy. I would highly recommend All Seasons to anyone needing their service and I will definitely call them when I decide to replace our old fireplace.

Worked with me over a few weeks because their finish guy was out of town, overall I was quite impressed they could take care of most of the job, with the exception of me having my painter do some repair work to the wallboard, I was glad I got a complete quote because I was hoping I would be able to replace the fireplace for around 5,000 but it would be closer to 7,000 by the time we were done with everything, I have put this project on hold for now but will go with them when I decide to undertake this project.

We went a couple of different times looking at our options. My husband has done a lot of research looking. The gentleman's name was Joey. He was well-informed, knowledgeable and responsive as far as whether I should get this or not, how does this work; looking at different options. The store had a lot of displays and you could see the different options. He was very upfront about cost. There were three different individuals that we worked with. All three teams worked very well.
Description of Work: It included three steps. One where someone came out to measure the fireplace. Then we had to order and then someone had to come in and install them.

A tech came out and cleaned the glass on our gas insert fireplace and cleaned out some dust and a few dead bugs underneath it. He then cleaned the glass doors on the gas log fireplace. The invoice said they adjusted the pilot light on the gas log and replenished the embers. I cannot confirm that the embers were actually replenished. They said that the gas log was giving us problems because of a switch and that we would need to add a remote control unit to get it to work right. The fireplace worked when they left, however it never worked after that. I later discovered that two wires in the fireplace needed to be replaced. Also, after they left, I noticed that the pilot light that they had and quot;adjustedand quot; was now a 5 inch yellow flame. My wife was furious, and so was I. It clearly was not right. The next day, I spoke to them on the phone. They actually called me because they said that the tech wrote down my credit card incorrectly. I told them that I wasn't going to give them the card number until they made it right. The person on the phone agreed and said that the tech would call me and straighten things out. I didn't hear anything back and finally called them after several days. They said that the tech would call me. Now it has been almost 2 weeks and I still haven't heard from them. I finally gave up on them. I found the manual for the fireplace (which wasn't easy) and got some replacement wires for the switch. I also cleaned the pilot assembly gently with some and quot;canned airand quot; and adjusted the pilot light (which I learned to do from the manual.) Just to be sure, I replaced the $20 thermopile as well. The pilot light is now a small blue flame (as pilot lights should be), I ran the voltmeter checks that were listed in the manual and everything now checks out. Now the fireplace is running great with no issues. It wasn't that hard... but I spent a lot of time figuring it out. There absolutely was NO EXPENSIVE REMOTE CONTROL INSTALL REQUIRED to get the fireplace working correctly again. In fact, the manual doesn't even mention one. Either the tech as in a complete hurry, or didn't know what he was doing. Many of the things that they said they did, they didn't do right (adjust pilot light, check wires), and their final diagnosis of my problem was totally incorrect. The only thing that they did do well was get here on time, vacuum up some bugs and clean the glass. I hardly think that is worth $300. At least they wrote down my credit card number wrong and I haven't paid them anything.
Description of Work: I called and scheduled to have my 2 fireplaces tuned up. One in particular, a gas log, was giving us problems (wouldn't start or would go out after running for a bit.)

They had someone come out and give us a quote and tell us all the work that would need to be done to convert our wood burning fireplace to a gas one. They were very knowledgeable. They were very clean and tidy when working. They were efficient. They put the whole thing in in a total of two days, and then put the vent on top of the house. They were great to work with; they were just kind of expensive.

All Seasons was patient and thorough. The owner Joe came to our house and made careful measurements before the installation crew arrived. When the crew ended up with the incorrect sized face for the fireplace, the problem was quickly resolved. Joe explained all our options to make sure that we got exactly what we wanted. Our new fireplace looks great, and better yet, works great! We are looking forward to winter now!

After visiting many other fireplace stores, we decided to go back here because it was close and locally owned and the product was slightly better. Joe, the owner, was okay to deal with. We've called numerous times and other employees have been rude and condescending. We are home owners and doing much of the sub-contracting ourselves. We were told a week ago that they were scheduling two weeks out so when we called to schedule installation we were told that we couldn't get in for 1 1/2 months (we bought the fireplace over a month ago so that's almost 3 months from when we purchased). Our entire project is stopped waiting for them to respond. They have been unclear about installation timing and permits but the worst is how they talk to people. Update - installation of the gas line was done by a contracted company. They were professional and fast. Installation of the positioning and venting of the fireplace was also fine. The initial turning on the fireplace went well, Nick was very attentive and professional. All Seasons has been attentive to our initial interaction and responsive to making things right with us. We are overall happy with the product.

We are working to coordinate our installers to install [member name removed] fireplace now and we are confident that she will be very pleased with the final result. Our focus is always on safety and fireplaces demand very specific installation requirements with trained and licensed professionals. We are sorry that [member name removed] expectations on timing were met and we are working hard to resolve this. Thank you for your comments [member name removed].

They were prompt getting here. They looked at my fireplace and were supposed to email me a quote. I never heard back from them. I called and verified they had the right email on file, they did. I still never received a quote. I'm not waiting for a quote from them anymore, I would use another company based on my experience.

Excellent service and work! Would not hesitate to recommend All Seasons Fireplace. Joe, the owner/manager fully explained all options/features of gas insert, was prompt to give me an estimate and follow-up. In spite of some structural challenges to running the gas line (which another fireplace store had told us were an obstacle), the installation went smoothly and we were able to use and enjoy the fireplace on quite a few days due to the unusually cool weather. We only wish we had gone to All Seasons sooner!

First, our meeting at their showroom with Tony Criswell, sales rep, was excellent. He did a great job of exploring options that fit our preferences, and explaining differences, instead of and quot;sellingand quot; us something. Very thorough. Installation was by subcontractors, who were generally punctual and professional. Only problem was the electric subcontractor (Suburban Electric) was very casual about inspection/permitting, so I had to step in to handle that process. Unit has been great. There was a little problem with a part, but they stopped back and repaired that quickly, no argument. All in all, I liked dealing with these people and would certainly recommend them to others.

The company contacted me to recommend that the gas fireplace insert they had installed previously (approx. 5 years ago) should probably be inspected for function and safety. They did not do a and quot;hard selland quot;--it was simply a suggestion. They arranged a convenient time with the tenant and showed up promptly when scheduled. I appreciated the gentle reminder, they did not and quot;tack onand quot; any additional charges, and my tenant indicated they were very efficient and courteous. The relatively inexpensive service gave us both peace of mind.

The remote on our fireplace has not worked for a couple of years. I got tired of flipping down the tray at the bottom to turn it on. I called All Seasons to see what they might think it is. They offered a total fireplace tune up for $149 or $96 for the first 30 minutes of service. I chose the tune up. I asked about the cost of a new remote. I was told $119-139. It actually came out at $149. Great service, professional, and punctual. It is so nice when a person removes their shoes when entering your home. He put a tarp down to protect the carpet and kept the area extremely clean. I couldn't believe the difference in our fireplace. It looked fabulous! I would recommend to a friend or family member. Just double check the price before starting.

Great phone response, punctual, made sure it was working properly. I, wife, made the phone call and explained the situation. Husband was home when the serviceman came out. He started cleaning from the inside, then moved to the outside vent. Previously we have had our wood-fire place cleaned out . That person stripped one of the screws when trying to get the outside cover off. All Season's Fireplace was able to get the outside cover off, clean out the hornet's nest, and re-screw the cover on. The serviceman made a comment about the wife should spray the area when she see's hornets by the cover and not let the nest get so big. My husband did not appreciate that comment. The nest was much larger then we had known. Overall, the serviceman was punctual, cost less then I thought (these things are always expensive), did a very nice job and I would hire them again.
Description of Work: Cleaned out an old hornets nest. Started from the inside of the house, cleaned out the vent; however blockage remained, had to open up the outside vent and cleaned it out. It was larger then we had known.

They put in a wood fireplace insert in my upstairs and a gas fireplace insert in my downstairs. They did an absolutely fabulous job. They are so knowledgeable about their products and carry all top rate products. They always called ahead about what time they were arriving and always arrived on time. I got an Avalon wood insert and and a Fireplace Extrodinair for the gas insert. They are remarkable products and All Seasons just did a fabulous job. Nick and Joe were great to work with. Nick explained everything on how to use it, etc.. and was never rushed to get out of my house. In fact, I had forgotten a few things and he came back and explained it again. Great guys and great business to work with. I'd recommend them over and over and over. They are by far the best around and carry the highest quality products. Every single person that comes in my house asks "who did the work, where did I buy the inserts". Everyone is impressed.

Description of Work: Our bedroom gas log fireplace pilot light had failed and we called the original installers of the fireplace to fix the problem. I called them to get a price on replacing the glass and getting my fireplace cleaned. Tony informed me of the price to clean it but that he would get me a price on the glass in a couple of days. He called back a couple of days later with a price for the glass. It was way more than I thought it would be since it was ceramic. I thought about it and decided that it wasn't an amount I could spend at the moment but did need the fireplace cleaned. They came out on the 22nd and did a fantastic job. Visited the showroom after having been to several others and done much research online. I learned a lot from Joe W., the owner and he steered me toward the right decision very quickly. It was overall a much more pleasant sales experience than I had with the competitors who either were unresponsive, uninformative, or who turned us off with gimmicks and sales pressure tactics. Joe was professional, trustworthy and very responsive - came to the house personally within a few days of my first visit to measure and confirm the appropriateness of our choice. Installation was problematic and I was not impressed with the sub they used. They made it right eventually and overall I think we did well to go with All Seasons.
