They actually came out and saw the property and then they gave us a detailed quote. They were competent and had some samples to show. They had a process and did some measuring and that sort of thing. I thought they were good and capable.

Steve was very quick in responding to my inquiry about quote for shelf with hooks in my mudroom. It was more than I wanted to spend at this time but I would definitely use in future.

Ours is a small job, and it's not that easy to find a reputable company/carpenter who is willing to take on such a small job. Steve came to my house in early June, assessing the scope of the job, estimating the cost and time needed. I was not present at the time, but my husband said that Steve was patient and professional. Back then, we just moved into the house and had a lot going on, so we did not have the time or money to buy a new fridge (hence the need to modify the cabinet) until October. When I called Steve in October, he still remembers providing us with a quote in June, and we negotiated the days and time that he would come to my house to take off the cabinet, bring it back to his shop to modify it, and then come back to my house to put back the modified cabinet. On the days of the job, they were efficient and professional. The quality of the job is very good, and we are happy with it.

Throughout the entire project Steve was always available to answer questions and give advice or referrals if needed. Phone calls were returned promptly and he worked well coordinating schedules with our other craftsmen. Our project was a small job, but Steve gave us the attention and quality of work that you would expect from a total kitchen renovation. We are thrilled with our expanded, open space that Steve had the vision to suggest. We highly recommend Imperial Custom Woodworking, and will definitely use them again in the future.

In the summer of 2012 we fully gutted both the kitchen and bathroom in our 1939 year old home. We found ourselves in the market not only for custom kitchen cabinets, but also a vanity and wall cabinet for our bathroom to fit our home and maximize space. We looked to Angie?s List as we knew we were going to be in need of many contractors during this remodel. We sought out a number of cabinet estimates to make sure we were comfortable not only with the design and layout of the cabinets, but also the quality of the company, materials and people who would be coming into our home. We were very happy working with Steve on the design. He was helpful in making changes to the layouts and offered up suggestions as we were unfamiliar with the whole process. For example, we had a large plumbing stack that ran from the bathroom above the kitchen down the wall to the basement and Steve was able to take that into account and cover it up nicely. Steve provided a detailed estimate that ultimately met our needs along with an appropriate timeline for production and installation. Installation was a simple process and the guys that came to install were very professional and made sure everything was done to our standards. Even going out of their way to install on numerous days as we had a flooring issue that needed correction. A year has gone by and we have been extremely happy with our cabinets overall. Having custom cabinets is definitely worth the extra time and money spent as it was imperative to utilize the most space in our home. When it came time to remodel another bathroom in our home, I knew I wanted to have Imperial provide a design and estimate and we?ve decided to move forward with them again.

Overall, he did a good job, but I am still having issues settling the final bill. Also, he charged me every time he made an extra trip to my house which is understandable, but this should have been communicated to me. I didn't realize he charged for each trip.

The job went well. It was a little later than we expected, but that was due to computer problems. That wasn't a big problem. The cabinets look good. The came out and installed the cabinets and installed some extra hardware for us. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Steve at Imperial Custom Woodworking did an absolutely fantastic job! When we were initially looking for someone to do our cabinets, Steve was the only person who really put time and effort into the design. In his design, he moved around the cooktop location in a way we really hadn't considered, and it worked out great. Another cabinetry company forgot to include a refrigerator. Steve was very flexible working with us on the design as we made some slight adjustments and considered other options. He also went ahead with our custom stain color. The cabinets turned out wonderful. Installation was fast and painless. Steve was happy to have a few minor issues corrected after we spotted them. I highly recommend Steve and Imperial Custom Woodworking!

Steve is the best. I went through over a dozen cabinet makers before I found him. Not only did he have the most reasonable prices, the quality of his materials was well above what others were offering. We were originally planning to hold-off on some built-ins until later due budget constraints. However, Steve's prices, combined with his thoughtful reccommendations enabled us to complete all of our cabinets within our budget. I can not reccommend Steve highly enough.

Great experience! Steve responded quickly to our request on Angie's List. He came out to do a pre-survey. We discussed some options and his ideas. A couple of days later we had a proposal via email that included a complete architectural drawing and measurements as well as pricing. Later they picked up a current cabinet door to use for a stain color match. The cabinetry was all built offsite and delivered the morning of the installation. Both the drop-off team and the installation team were on time, courteous, and kept the job site clean. The entire installation process on that day took about 4 1/2 hours to remove the old shelves/bookcases and install the new cabinetry including mounting the swivel TV arm that we had purchased separately. All of the cabinet shelves and drawers were adjustable so that reinstalling the electronics equipment and associated wiring was easily done. We were thrilled with the outcome and the workmanship done by Steve and his team. We'd hire them again!

Absolutely fabulous outcome! I couldn't be more pleased. The attention to detail by Steve and his crew was amazing. They built and installed all new cabinets in our kitchen, and they are gorgeous. The reason for the "B" on price is only because they were very expensive, but I have no idea if this price is comparable to other companies or not. However, to me the cost was worth it, because they did such a good job. Regarding the "B" for punctuality--they were a few hours late on the 1st day of installation, which meant we wouldn't be ready for countertop templating at 8:00 the following morning. Luckily, we were able to move the templating time to later in the day, so no harm done. Steve and his crew were very professional and neat. During the design process, Steve told us about all of our options and made suggestions that were so helpful. We were able to nearly double our cabinet space. Steve was so patient and helpful during the whole process and would always get back to me right away whenever I contacted him with a question. I would highly recommend Imperial Custom Woodworking to anyone.

Steve's work is impeccable. He created all new cabinets for my kitchen. He measured the area, came up with a design and made adjustments to meet my requirements. The quality of the end product was well beyond my expectations. From start to finish Steve and his team was easy to work with and pleasant to be around. The attention to detail is fantastic. The appliances fit perfectly. Cabinets all matched and centered. I highly recommend working with Steve for any cabinet/wood work project.

I had one thing I wanted more than anything else...lazy susan recycling center with attached doors. The company that made the hardware for it no longer made the attached door style. Steve hunted down the manufacturer and they were able to find the last attached door style recycling center. Steve's guys did such an amazing job. The cabinets are gorgeous and work beautifully! Even though I didn't want self closing drawers at first, now that I have them, I'm totally in love with them. I do recommend Imperial every chance I get. They do perfection at a fair price.

Steve did a great job of quoting accurately, delivering on-time and was always conscious of the budget. He worked well with another supplier we were using for the countertops to insure accurate measurements and brought forth several options, all good. From our first meeting Steve was determined to get the business and I am glad that we went with him.

We have a built in TV cabinet that was designed for TVs of the early 90s. It had bookshelves on the sides and the cavity with a platform pull out was only about big enough for an old 32" tube TV. Steve took out the bookshelves on the side and made it big enough for a new 46" LED TV. It looks like it was always that size. I mean it really looks great! I also have a gimp hand from a botched hand surgery so he helped me mount the TV which was just d*** nice of him!!! Awesome work. We're going to do a built in buffet with him next!

We were very impressed with Imperial Custom Woodworking Inc. Steve responded quickly to our requests and questions and designed exactly what we were looking for. The cabinetry was installed on the day Steve projected and looks beautiful. His team was efficient and left the installation area cleaner than it was when they arrived. We have already asked Steve to bid on several other projects.

We completely remodeled our kitchen, dining room and living room spaces in our split entry house. We had a general contractor in charge of the project, involving switching the kitchen and dining room areas around, tearing out wall between living room and old kitchen - creating the "great room". The contractor had his preferred list of sub-contractors, but we wanted to go with Imperial Cabinets because we had used them for our last three projects (2 bath room vanities, rec room cabinets). Steve came over and gave us several ideas on what would work (and wouldn't work) for our new kitchen and best ways to do some of the cabinets. We very much appreciated his suggestions. Steve drew up detailed diagrams with the specs for all items. During the course of the remodeling project, we had several minor revisions to our original plans and Steve was very accommodating in making these mods to the plans. Steve worked with our general contractor in their schedule and installed on agreed date. We ordered Cambria countertops thru Steve's contact, which were measured the same day as installation was completed. Unfortunately, Cambria's schedule was delayed 2 weeks from their original delivery/installation date.. This was the only delay in the overall project. No delays due to general contractor or Imperial Cabinets. We are very pleased with Imperial Cabinets quality and workmanship. We love the maple wood and finish. The installation was very professional; Steve did all our installations and he is very good at all the detail work including the crown moldings. We have given a number of referrals to people looking for a good custom cabinet maker at a fair price.

We asked Imperial to give us an estimate to replace our 27 year old kitchen cabinets. Steve was very helpful in offering suggestions, options and accessories to new cabinets. He took measurements and a few days later, he provided the quote via an email with a follow up call to discuss. Steve took time to explain the quote, the process and timing. Steve also provided a schematic so we could see the layout both from a front view and top view. Steve offered a number of suggestions that made a huge difference in the usability of the kitchen. Seemingly small things like moving the range 16" to one side giving us more usable cabinet space and moving the island 6 inches from previous placement giving us a larger walking space. Steve is a perfectionist and because of his attention to detail, it has made all the difference in the look and usability of our new updated kitchen showcasing superb craftsmanship. The service turned out excellent. They were knowledgeable, very responsive and the quality of the work was great.

Steve came over and gave me an estimate. I changed my mind on what I wanted a few times and he was always very supportive. Once I decided on the design, I went to his finishers store to pick out a stain. After that, I just waited for the cabinets to be built. They installed the cabinets yesterday. The installers took their time to make sure everything was just right. The cabinets are just beautiful. The workmanship is outstanding. I would definitely use this company again.

As usual, I checked with other vendors who were kind of quick to give me a price without spending too long analyzing what should be done and how. Steve Draeger, instead, spent some time studying the furniture, making some sketches and after his first visit he said he wanted to go back to his drawing board to figure out the job, the internal structure, and assess the challenges and costs involved. He came back later with his proposal and explained all the uncertainities and risks that surrounded this project. His pricing was fair and I got impressed by his professionalism. He was not immediately available to perform the job, as he had a backlog and some previous commitments. I tried to push him to get it faster but he was very professional in keeping his original timeline. This was a good signal, as it indicated he would most likely perform his job in the time promised. He came with an assistant and it was impressive to watch them at work. They were pretty fast, clean, neat, very thorough. They were done in less than 4 hours! The island was modified promptly and it looks great. We definitely gained the space we wanted. A job done in a very professional way. I would hire Steve with my eyes shut next time I have to have custom made cabinetry.

Steve responded to my voicemail within an hour or so to our call to come to our home to give an estimate for a custom mudroom cabinet to be built and installed. He came to our home within a couple of days and arrived right at the scheduled time. We had a design in mind, he gave us feedback and helped to tweak the design to fit our space and decor. He provided us with a completed design, details and estimate within a week and was able to complete the project in a timeframe that suited the contractor doing some of our other work. We were out of town when the cabinet was installed and there were some issues fitting the cabinet where it was supposed to go, there was some existing trim in the way that has just been installed, Steve was able to remove the trim and work with our contractor to resolve the problem and we couldn't even tell he had to remove the trim! Overall, it was a great experience and we will absolutely call Steve when we decide it's time to remodel our kitchen in the future.

Upon contacting Steve he was very flexible around our schedule and came out promptly to confer and measure what we needed. Initially we were on a quick schedule which Steve was willing and able to accommodate. As the project progressed, due to other folks doing tiling and other tasks, Steve adjusted his production schedule and always had pieces ready when we needed them. The vendor he arranged for the granite was a little inconvenient - we had to go to Hastings to pick out slabs - but it was worth it. They were very professional and the product and install was perfect. One of the linen faces didn't originally fit as we thought it should and Steve immediately agreed. He remade it and replaced it for no extra charge. We didn't have to pressure him, he readily offered and took care of it. His vendor he uses to finish the woodwork was excellent and the results were fabulous. We have since used them to paint other items such as stair balusters and they've suggested paint for other purposes. The experience with Steve at Imperial was in all respects very satisfying! We would highly recommend his company for any woodworking or related projects. We will be using him again in the near future for the next floor of our house remodel.

Although we were not able to work together on this project, Steve as extremely knowledgeable and helpful in a consultation role. We were stuck on pricing and other design elements and he helped walk us through some of the issues which made our lives much easier.

My husband and I had a great experience working with Steve. Our kitchen was remodeled as part of a TV show and we were working with a very strict timeline. I called Steve and even though he indicated he was extremely busy he made the time to work on our project. He was able to build a custom cabinet with a pull-out pantry feature to surround our fridge. We used many of our existing cabinets during the remodel and also bought a few stock cabinets for the new island area. Steve was able to make cabinet fronts that matched the existing one's to keep in character with our 1940s home. Even when we ran into a snag installing the cabinet fronts (no fault of Steve's) he took time out of his busy to day to make a few slight adjustments so they would work with the stock cabinets. He also created panels to match our cabinetry for the fridge and dishwasher. Everything turned out beautifully! Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely contact him for any future cabinet needs. I was able to visit the shop when he made the adjustment to the cabinet fronts and his colleagues were also very friendly. The shop was clean, organized and I could see the quality of his work when I had the opportunity to look at some of the other projects he was working on. I was very happy with the price and realized custom cabinetry isn't a complete fortune as I have always been told and thought. His prices seemed very fair.
