Can't say enough good things. Price and quality were both excellent. Steve was responsive and punctual for the initial phone call, estimate, and questions via email. The seat was ready for install sooner than I expected, and scheduling was flexible. The two guys who did the install were punctual, friendly and efficient. I worked from home during the install and they were working the entire time, didn't even take a break, though the work took longer than they expected. Before leaving, they showed me some "tricks" to adjusting the hinges which may be helpful in the future. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to friends and family, and would use them again in the future.

It went great. Steve and his crew were here promptly every day, measured exactly, and cleanup was a breeze, because I didn't have anything to clean up. Just a joy to work with this company and my kitchen is ready to show off. It's a pleasure to work in my beautiful kitchen.

The design process took awhile, but the end result was more beautiful than I could imagine. And it is very high quality work. I am so happy with the end result.

Design, fabrication and installation were done smoothly and nicely coordinated around the Thanksgiving holiday so that we could entertain guests. The onsite carpenters were fabulous, removing the old pieces with minimal damage to them and the surrounding drywall. Professional, through and through.

I was very impressed with the whole crew at Imperial Custom Woodworking. Everyone I talked/emailed with listened carefully and made sure they were doing exactly what I wanted. Steve gave me updates on the project progress before I even asked for them. The project was done quickly--the turnaround was as promised. His installers were extremely professional and made sure I was completely happy with placement of the piece before they attached it to the wall. They even asked for a vacuum to make sure they left no sawdust behind (I asked for an unfinished piece). I would definitely use this shop again if another project comes up.

This is the 5th cabinet project that we had done by Steve's Imperial Custom Woodworking. Needless to say, we were very well satisfied with his previous work (rec room cabinets, 2 bathroom cabinets, and kitchen cabinets) and this last project was no exception. We had completed a remodel of our living room area and it needed that something extra. We called Steve and gave him some ideas on what we were looking for to fill the space, display some curio items, house our audio equipment and have some storage space. Steve took these ideas and came up with an initial design drawing for us to review. Overall, it looked pretty good and we were able to make some adjustments, which he incorporated into a final design. Like our other projects, we went with maple wood. Steve gave us his bid and estimated completion date and it was a go. The cabinet was completed and professionally installed on time, at the agreed price. We are very satisfied with this project and have received many compliments on how it fits out space and how beautiful it looks.

We love our new kitchen. Imperial Custom Woodworking updated and improved our kitchen plan views and elevations, field-measured existing floor, walls and ceilings, made cabinet design revisions to accommodate our existing range exhaust outlet location, made drawer design revisions to accommodate adjacent seating area, made recommendations on best range hood liner, fabricated great quality upper and lower cabinets and doors, including glass doors with mullions, and provided great cabinet door hardware and great self-closing drawer glides. Installation crew did quality work and installed upper and lower cabinets in one day. Door and drawer installation was finished in a half-day about two weeks later. Cabinet, crown molding and cabinet trim installation was perfect. Cabinet doors and drawers were all adjusted and fit perfectly. Refrigerator, range and microwave appliances fit perfectly into new cabinets.

Everyone that I have worked with at Imperial Custom Woodworking is top-notch. The installation and materials used for all my projects were excellent, and the attention to detail is impressive. I appreciate Steve's honesty and knowledge in his trade, and with his ideas and recommendations my projects turned out even better than I expected. I have been a member of Angie's List for several years and came across Imperial Custom Woodworking in one of the monthly magazines. I could tell by the photos and review descriptions that Imperial was a good outfit. Steve came out to my home and provided a quote for my projects, the job was completed quickly and communication was excellent. I plan on remodeling my kitchen and adding cabinetry to a basement bar, and I can say without hesitation that I will be going through Imperial Custom Woodworking for my future projects.

I selected this company based on the Angie's list reviews. Initially I was attracted because some reviews said they were good at matching existing cabinets and initially I only wanted to get an estimate for adding cabinets to my oak kitchen so I could get rid of my free standing garbage bins. I then fell in love with the picture of a kitchen on the website. I am from Europe and love a sleek contemporary look and the photo of the maple kitchen on the website was spectacular. My husband let me make all decisions (how smart of him!) - initially he was a bit shocked that we were getting a kitchen that looks like it's from "IKEA" but for a much higher price, but has been super impressed with the quality and the amount of space we gained. Our kitchen is not big (no room for an island) so I wanted to take advantage of every inch, and wanted to move small appliances from a hallway cabinet into the kitchen. Steve, the owner, worked with me from start to finish, he listened very well and gave good design suggestions, he gave me estimates for three options, he was very patient when I could not make up my mind, and overall the process with him was easy. He was very responsive and I appreciated that I interacted with only one person, so nothing got lost in translation. The cabinets are beautiful and fit perfectly. The installation went smoothly. The team was very professional and very friendly. I am shocked at how much more cabinet space I gained, even though the kitchen looks less crowded than before. I love my slide out garbage and recycling bins! Two words of caution: This is not cheap by any means so if you are trying to redo your kitchen on a budget this is not a good fit for you. Also, this is a cabinet company. That is all they do. They will subcontract the countertops for you. All other work you have to take care of. I did not realize everything that I would need to do. In our case, I had to find people to remove the door and trim from an existing pantry closet and widen the opening and install a power outlet inside for the garbage slide out, to remove a partial room divider, to move up a power outlet to above counter height (in a place where we had no cabinets before), to remove a previous countertop and lower the wall below it because it turned out that it was too tall, disconnect sink, reconnect sink to use while waiting for 2 weeks for countertops, etc. You get the picture. This was a lot of work to coordinate and much more than expected especially considering that we kept all appliances in the same places. Probably my fault since this was my first big remodeling project! I will be getting the new countertops tomorrow and then all that is left to do is connect the dishwasher, the new sinks, select and install backsplash tiles, matching baseboards and apply some paint to the walls. If you are willing to invest the money and a significant amount of time and effort you will have a wonderful result and will feel that you made a good investment. I could not be happier with my new kitchen cabinets. Thank you Steve and team for the excellent work!

Working with Steve was exceptional. He was easy to work with, dependable and resolved problems we had with putting in a new center island. His cabinetry is outstanding. His cabinets are nicer than the existing cabinets we have in our model home. He was prompt and did everything we asked - and more. I would recommend Imperial Custom Woodworking to anyone wanting new cabinetry work. How can it get any better than working with someone who respects schedules, has outstanding, professional work, is within a good price range and cares about his customers.

I gave him the information about my project, and he asked me to send him a picture, which I did through text. He didn’t get back to me for several days. I called him, and asked if he got my text. He confirmed that he did, and claimed it would be between $500-$1000. I expressed this was a big window as far as pricing, and that $500-$700 was more within my range. I asked what the exact quote would be, and he asked for specific measurements to give me a more precise figure. After I sent him the measurements, he did not respond. When I got in contact with him again, he said he thought the message was for another contractor, as he had the idea I wasn’t interested, which I never said! He still has not responded whether he wants to take the project or not, despite me asking him repeatedly. I don’t appreciate him giving me the runaround and putting words in my mouth. I expect the courtesy of a reply when I am trying to do business with somebody.

From start to finish our experience with Steve was fantastic. Steve had excellent ideas of how our finished product would look. We took all of his recommendations and are very happy we listened to him. Steve promised our cabinets would be finished and installed by February 28. Our cabinets were finished and installed by Feb 20. He and his crew pride themselves on their ability to deliver more than promised. They are very professional, courteous, and very attentive to cleaning up behind themselves. We had new hard wood floors installed and his crew was very careful not to scuff our brand new floors. Craftsmanship Excellent - We used the home app Houzz to pick out different styles of pantries we wanted. Steve is able to recreate anything you can find on this app. He can duplicate whatever you have a picture of and I must say once again a beautiful job. Our appliances came in Mar 08 and I was very nervous that things might not fit properly. Let me tell you Warner Stellian guys were very impressed of our cabinets fit like a glove. They even commented on how perfect the cuts were made. I wish I knew how to send pictures along with this review. Working with Steve was very easy he understands home owners change their minds often. There were many changes along the way but always done with a smile. Steve all the way through our project always communicated well with us. He kept us informed along the way without us having to track him down. Steve always answered his phone or returned our calls promptly. I had searched Angies list early on for cabinet makers and read the reviews on Imperial Custom Woodworking. My wife and I are so glad we selected Imperial they are great. Here's one last thing you should know about Steve and his company. Steve quoted my price without realizing I was a Angies list customer. He called me about a week ago to apologize that he did not give me the Angies list discount. Steve is sending me a check for $500 that we should have received in the beginning. I knew nothing about this until he called me that is a testament to what you can expect from Imperial Custom woodworking.

Working with Steve is amazing. It always goes perfectly. Steve made cabinets for my kitchen last year that turned out beautiful. At that time I stressed I did not want an island although Steve thought it would be a good idea considering I have a very large kitchen. After living with it for many months we agreed that he was right. Steve came out, measured and gave me several options I had not thought of. The island was done in a few weeks and installed last week, at a great price. We are pretty fussy about things and my husband commented on the great quality of construction of our island. We could not be happier with the results. It is perfect in size. And because of Steve's design I have so much extra storage now I could not fill it up...yet. It is very functional and gorgeous to look at. We are so happy that we decided to add the island. I have a couple of more project for Steve and look forward to working with him again. Steve is always on task and on time. He is always available for questions or thoughts about the project at hand. We love, love, love all the cabinetry that Steve and his guys have done for us and would highly recommend Imperial Custom Woodworking. Great job!

Steve met with us, made some very good suggestions for changing the design we were thinking of. Crafted and installed fireplace surround with mantel. Also, created trim for a problem window seat application. We are very happy with their work and would recommend them anytime!

The experience with Steve was great. I was very indecisive about what we wanted to do for our bar area (if we wanted a fridge and what size). He put a couple quotes together for us with the different scenarios. The day of the installation was super smooth. They were in and out and all cleaned up in a half a day! We get so many complements on how they turned out and am so please with the quality!

Entertainment center cabinet perfectly matches and fits into our existing cabinet. Outstanding craftsmanship. Drawers glide shut.

Steve did a great job in setting up the lay out of our kitchen. I was a bit nervous at first going this route instead of pre-made cabinets from the big box store. When our cabinets were installed I was amazed at how nice they were. Each cabinet had a purpose. The quality was second to none. The crew that installed were nice and paid special attention to the floors so as not to scratch them. When the job was complete there were a few small issues (caulk around the celling and interior wood in cabinet). Steve came over and resolved the issue's. My experience with Steve was great, I would recommend Imperial and use Imperial again.

In our 40+ homeownership years (and three homes), we?ve built, replaced, repaired and redone many things?appliances, fences, decks, sheds, etc.?but our 1970?s-vintage kitchen was our first major remodeling project. And it was daunting. Kitchens are complex beasts, and the options, while limited by space and money, were mind-boggling to us neophytes. We were doing a gut-out remodel (converting a closed-in peninsula layout to an open island design), and wanted to get it as right as possible the first time. That?s where Steve Draeger of Imperial Custom Woodworking came in. His was the lowest of several bids, which would have concerned us but for his largely glowing Angie?s List reviews. They were accurate; he knew what he was doing and guided us through efficient and cost-effective cabinet design and placement (including some tricky designing around immovable obstacles). He helped us with innumerable decisions, from traffic patterns to wood choices to hardware, and kept his cool when we changed our minds and plans several times, providing prompt and thorough responses to our endless emailed questions. As confirmed DIYers, we further taxed Steve?s patience by wanting to do virtually all of the work except cabinet and countertop construction and installation ourselves. This dragged out the project for months from the time we found him on Angie?s List to the point where he was finally able to finish his part of the job. In spite of all this delay, he was unfailingly courteous and helpful, and he and his crew accomplished the cabinet installation over two wintry days, tidying up completely afterward. It?s taken well over another year to file this review?a combination of procrastination and the desire to include photos of the completed kitchen (which still needs some DIY details such as stained-glass inserts for upper pantry cabinets, window trim, and backsplash selection/installation; we kinda ran out of energy after we got the kitchen functional). However, none of this was Steve?s responsibility, so here?s our long-past-due review; the attached before/during/after photos show how nicely the cabinetry turned out, even if the kitchen isn?t completely done. One benefit of this delay is that we?ve had time to live with the new kitchen for that span, and a testament to Steve?s work is that everything works just as we?d hoped; with his help we indeed got it right. Bottom line, we?re happy to add to Steve?s collection of complimentary reviews, however belatedly. If he?s willing to put up with us again, we?ll soon be calling him to help us remodel our family room.

It was a fabulous experience start to finish. If I could give Steve a hundred A's it wouldn't be enough. I couldn't have had a better experience than with Steve. He is efficient, prompt and gets the job done. He knows what he is doing from the measure to the design. The craftsmanship is beyond belief. The stain match is perfect. We did have a few glitches along the way (totally my fault and a couple of changes by me) but Steve handled them promptly and without any fuss. He was always concerned that I get everything exactly the way I want it and I did. My kitchen cabinets are truly the most beautiful job I have ever had done. And the estimate was spot on and very reasonable. I will be calling Steve again soon for my next remodeling job!

I found this company on Angies List and called to get an estimate. Steve came out that afternoon because he was in the area (during a big snowstorm). Drew up some specs within a couple of days, I approved them and completed the job within a few weeks. In the meantime I asked for a couple of changes which they were very pleased to accomodate. The installers were very professional and did great finish work. I'll certainly be calling Imperial again!

I'm not very happy with him. He's not very good at returning calls and the appliances are waiting at the store for three weeks. We also picked countertops out there and gave them some money down and are waiting for Steve. He's very good in coming out and giving us an estimate and then he said he's gonna assign a schedule then we brought a piece over there to match almost two weeks ago. We also went to him to drop off a downpayment. If the job turned out good, I think we would use him again.

I initially started working with another cabinet manufacturer out of St Cloud on the design and build of a bar for my basement renovation project. I had gotten fed up with the promptness and customer service and ended up finding ICW on Angie's List. I met with Steve and felt that he took his time to listen to what I wanted and studied the room for potential issues. We discussed several options and i received a design a couple of days later as promised. As we worked through the lead time of the build I was kept up to date as to my action items for counter-tops and hardware so that everything would be ready on the install date. Steve was able to also be flexible with the install date as to not conflict with my travel schedule. Install was efficient and the cabinets were built with quality. My bar is beautiful and the envy of anyone that comes over to enjoy a frosty adult beverage. I would definitely contract ICW again and would recommend them to my friends for any cabinet work needed.
