Description of Work: Removed old fence and replaced it with a similar California style fence, adding steel gates, and a solid wood fence at the front of the house. The installation began ahead of schedule with the tearing down of the old fence and setting of the posts. The old fence was piled neatly and removed when the supply of new fencing arrived. They arrived exactly on time to erect the new fence. They responded positively to any corrections or adjustments that were needed. The installers worked efficiently and wasted no time.

Description of Work: They replaced a long section of chain link fence with a 5ft gate. |They did a very good job. We are very happy with it.

Description of Work: Midwest Fence removed an existing fence and installed a completely new one. They came promptly and did a fine job. There were some unexpected challenges that emerged when digging the post holes, but the problems and options were explained clearly. I am very pleased with the finished job.

Description of Work: This is a difficult review. We gave them an A, because the guys who actually installed the fence and gates were great guys and took the time and made the effort to do an excellent job in every way. Also the price was the low bid and included more work than other bids. The quality of the vinyl fencing we purchased is excellent. We would use them again, because in the end, we got a quality product, properly installed, at a good price. We love the fence. | |But it was agony dealing with the office regarding scheduling and getting them to show up to start the job. This was a matter of the office, not the crews, who go where they are sent each day. Our project kept getting pushed back, and then when they started, they treated finishing the job as a low priority -- for example, promising to be there on a particular day and not showing up because another job took more time than anticipated. Maybe this is the way all seasonal contractors are -- judge from your own experience -- we assume they were getting calls from all their customers asking for service, so we hate to be harsh. It inconvenienced us and our neighbors because we all have pets and need our yards to be fenced; also it made it very difficult to be home while they were working and we had to be home to make decisions for them and authorize more work (for example, if they ran into a buried tree trunk). Also, we had a terrible experience with the demolition crew charged with taking out the old fence. For example, I asked the crew leader to be careful of my neighbor's garden -- to keep as much damage as possible on our side of the fence -- and the crew leader told me that he couldn't control what his men did because they were only paid $10 an hour (unbelievable, I know, but he actually said that). I called the office, and the manager there was rude and unwilling to step in. He seemed to be annoyed with us that the old fence was more work to remove than they anticipated. This certainly was not our fault -- perhaps their salesperson underestimated it -- we don't know. In the end, the demolition crew left a lot of work for the installers to finish, which slowed them down. We gave them a B for "professionalism" because the demolition crew was so unprofessional. Bottom line: hire this company, but know that you may have to stay on top of the office to get your job completed and you may receive poor customer service from the office, but in the end you will (if your experience is like ours) be very happy with your fence and very happy with the men who installed it. Also, the salesman was excellent and helped us understand our options.

Description of Work: The crew was great! They asked me a few questions before they got started. When I wasn't sure what they were asking, they restated the question without making me feel ignorant. Because of my response they rescheduled the install but on their return they did a beautiful job. There was an issue with the back gate because of my garage roof but the crew leader kept me informed of everything. I was happy with the install & fence!
