I requested estimate online. Derrick responded within a day and set an estimate appointment within a couple days. He was on time for his appointed, was very knowledgeable and professional. I met with Derrick a second time to confirm my estimate, which we made slight changes and placed my order. Within 1 week and was contacted to schedule post set. The post set crew was set to arrive between 10:30 & 11:30. They were a little late but called to let me know they were running late. The crew foreman confirmed my order and quickly proceeded to set the posts. The left the extra dirt were I instructed them. Within a week I was contacted for the fence installation. They showed up on time and were friendly. They did a great job, making some small adjustments and got the job done quickly.

This project went perfectly. I found the sales staff and both the post team and the fence team to be professional and knowledgeable. They worked hard and paid great attention to detail. The estimate was the middle one we received. They called to let us know when they were coming and called after the job was completed to check in. I would definitely use this company for my fencing needs.

The fence looks great, but they damaged the side of our house and now won't return phone calls. I called them right when it happened and they said they would send someone out to look at it, but that never happened and now they won't return my calls.

I wasn't really satisfied with the salesman. He just gave the bid, didn't work with me to see if it was in my budget, it was in fact a lot higher than what I expected based on what my neighbors have paid for fences. He didn't take a lot of time with me and did not follow up. ($3,200.00)

Excellent. The workers were professional and timely, and the site was left immaculate! We have since referred them to neighbors and friends. They all have had the same excellent experience.

Overall, Midwest Fence did an outstanding job. I called for an appointment, where the salesman and I set the day and time that we would meet. When the time came, he was there, right on time. We began by walking my yard, giving me time to explain what it was that I wanted. He then sat down with me and went through the options that he felt would fit my needs. Once I decided on the fence I wanted, he cranked out the paperwork and explained how the the installation process happens. I wasn't ready to buy, so he left his card and the estimate with me to mull over. I had 2 other companies come out and check out the job I wanted to have done. I chose Midwest simply because the salesman didn't seem pushy, and I felt more comfortable with the explanations I got to my questions. I called and agreed to the sale. All I had to do was mail in the estimate I already had, and a small down payment. About a week later, I received a call from Midwest verifying the order and letting me know what to expect next. It wasn't long after that (a few days) and I got a call letting me know that I was scheduled to have my post put in the ground, and that a locating service would be out to mark my utility lines (it was free!). The crew arrived on time and I was amazed at how fast the holes could be dug and the posts cemented into place. I was only a couple hours and the crew was packed, cleaned up their mess and on their way to their next job. I checked the posts was shocked at how freakishly straight and level they were after watching the crew work at such a break-neck pace! From talking with the salesman, I knew that it would be a few days before the fence could be finished (the cement had to be hard before finishing). The crew arrived (again, on time) and in under 2 hours, My fence was finished. The crew worked at the same break-neck pace as the crew before. Once they were done, the forman walked with me alone the fence and asked if there was anything I could see that I didn't like. ( of course there was NOTHING I could see that could have been done better). All I had to do was had over my final payment, and the job was done. Long story short. I couldn't have been happier with the entire process or the product supplied by Midwest Fence!

Everything was excellent. It was a no pressure sale. They gave us a discount for being on a high traffic road. They cleaned it up and you could not tell that we had anything done, because they cleaned up so well. They gave us addresses of other homes that they had installed their actual product.

We were concerned with safety for the stallion as well as having some special demands we needed met. We had to be comfortable that the finished product would stand up to some "testing" by the stallion. Midwest Fence was great! They listened to our needs and suggested some things we hadn't thought of. The final price matched the original estimate. They came out on schedule, cleaned up after the installation and did a great job.

Sales people and construction people were of the most reliable and prompt of any workers we have had in the past. The job was started and completed on time and with no hidden costs. This company can be proud of its employees. I would recommend them to anyone at anytime. Thank You! Deland Bloch

The entire experience, from initial contact to the final installation (not to mention a followup inspection by one of their field supervisors) was entirely pleasant and our expectations were more than met. The installation crews were polite, worked efficiently and did not disrupt our business activity in any way. The workmanship was superb and the worksite area was cleaned up very nicely. The job was completed efficiently and well within the stated timeframe. Our understanding is that many fence contractors use independent contractors (subcontractors) to do all of their installation work, while Midwest uses their own employees. I can't help but believe this makes a difference in the quality of the work and completion as promised. In summary, we couldn't ask for a better experience working with a contractor. We had to deal with more than 20 different contractors during the construction phase of our building and the experience with Midwest Fence was among the most pleasant. They delivered as promised and we would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

Great, I have no complaints whatsoever. I would hire them again and recommend them to friends and family. From the knowledgeable and friendly sales guy (Jarrod) to the installation crews, even the service personal were wonderful. They were always on time on their install dates (set posts one day, build fence a week later), cleaned up after themselves, and did quality work. I have the straightest and best looking fence in town! I had one issue with my walk through gate as it heaved from the frost exiting the ground in the spring, but after one call they were out 2 days later and fixed it to my satisfaction, now that is great customer service. It's all about taking care of the customer after the sale, and Midwest went above an beyond all my expectations. The funny thing is some of their competition didn't even seem interested in my business because it is such a steep back yard to install on, so they gave me very high bids, but not Midwest, they did a wonderful job at a very fair price!

Great! Our experience with Midwest Fence was very professional from start to finish. We called in for an estimate and our sales person called us back to schedule an appointment with us right away. He showed up on time and was very thorough and extremely helpful. We weren't sure what type of fence we wanted and he had some great examples and pictures. We chose to do the Trex fence on only part of the property with the brown chain link on the other half. When the guys came out to put the fence in they were very nice and respectful. They even put up with my unending questions! They cleaned up after themselves, and left before I even had a chance to thank them. All in all they were great to work with from start to finish and I will and have recommended them to my friends and neighbors.

The salesman was good along with the installation crews. Their office, however, seems to be filled with second class people that lie to you, fail to return phone messages and treat you as if they are doing you the biggest favor in the world by allowing you to use their service. I am still waiting for my gates to be installed after fourteen (14) weeks and three appointments to install them. Now besides the cost of the fence I've taken three days off and still do not have gates.

I'm not happy. We paid a lot of money for the original installation (entire backyard with a brown vinyl chain link and three gates). I would expect that as a customer who is *advertising* for Midwest with their little metal plates all over my fence that it would NOT be too inconvenient to come and give me a specific estimate. Since their minimum charge is $350 in labor, and then I have a range of $619-818 to re-do this gate, I want clear instruction on what needs\can to be done. I don't install fences and I don't expect to pay $350 minimum in labor so that I can stand out there with my tape measure, scratching my head and trying to figure out what kind of gate options I have and where the new posts go, or *if* new posts are even needed or if I have the space for it. I'm looking elsewhere. I was really offended that he told me it would be a "waste of his time" to come do an estimate for this small job if I didn't say I could toss $600-800 his way without having a clear idea of the job.

Many companies I called were not interested in my job because it is winter, but Midwest had no problems with installing a fence in December. The fence posts went in as planned. The installer was professional and on time. The chain link was ordered and was going to be put up when it arrived. It seemed to be taking longer to get the chain link than I thought it would, and my dogs were breaking out of the temporary fence I had put up, so I gave them a call asking when I could expect the install to be completed. They had me on their work list for the next day. I was to be called the night before they came but didn't get a call. I was at work that day, but they went ahead and completed the install anyway, even though I know they wanted me to be home. I would definitely use them again!

They were able to come out with in a good time range. Dale Harteneck came prepared and immediately write a proposal with a small diagram showing the fence width, etc. He was very professional and not pushy at all, which I liked, but upon talking it over with my husband we decided that it was out of our price range and my husband built our fence. My husband, however, bought all the materials from Midwest Fence.

The installation crew quite unprofessional. They appeared to be high school help with very little regard to customer service. The quality was good and the salesman was as well.

Bad. Took months to get job started after contracting. Work done in stages by different crews who did not communicate with each other. Posts dug & mounds of dirt left. Next crew cut slats unevenly using the mounds of fresh dirt as ground level. Result was yards of uneven slats. Sales rep couldn't even believe poor work. He had no explanation. The head of slat team argued with me & made disparaging remarks about sales rep. Again month+ went by. Team returned & refused to fix problem due to a few annual plants next to fence. Rep told me owner was informed of problem- "this has never happened," etc. 5 calls later work redone. Owner of company never got involved as promised. I registered complaint with Better Business Bureau. Overall can't stress enough the stress involved in dealing with this company's shoddy work & once in a lifetime, outright rudeness & condescending attitude of team leader of project. Sales rep has no authority, after collecting your money, in shepherding the work.

These guys were great from start to finish. Salesman was prompt, followed up often, scheduling was a bit flaky, but showed on time. They hand built the entire fence due to access and grade requirements, and plugged some holes on the previous fence to keep the dogs in. Fast, courteous, clean, built the entire thing in four hours total, with one day for setting the posts.

I followed up with Tom, the owner, & had since got quotes from 3 other companies. They were all in the $10,000 ballpark. It took several tries (& days) to get a hold of the owner. Tom called me several times, telling me that he is sure he can make it work. Finally he called me back asking me to split the difference. In looking at their BBB score, I was not impressed either. The difference still puts them over the top of the other companies, so I declined.

Our only ''issue,'' if you can call it that, was that Dale tried to tell us we could only have a 36'' high fence in the area we were fencing. In fact, it can be up to 7 feet. We didn't have any issues, just went with a lower bid ($830 for the same work).

The fence looks great, and the workers were professional and cleaned up well. I called in November when the security fence fell down in order to get a basic quote. The sales person said it was too late in the season to do the project. He called me back in February and came out to bid. He was very professional and understood exactly what we wanted. We didn't have any other bids. They did a nice job communicating about when the project would start but then I had to call after they took down the old fence and set the new posts to find out when they would be back.

Wish I had subscribed to Angie's List before I chose this contractor! The person who did our estimate was friendly and gave us the estimate before he left our property. Not the cheapest bid we had received, but we chose them because of him and the story he gave to us about the company he worked for. Construction started on schedule, and was completed in the time frame we were told. Greatly dissatisfied with the quality of the wood used. We were told the pickets would have no knots, but there were many that had noticeable knots, numerous bad crossbeams and split boards. We were given the run around when we called to ask for them to be replaced. Those pickets were finally replaced (along with the entire sections, which we had already stained). Additional boards needed to be replaced a 2nd time. It took 4 months overall and was not completed before the weather got cold enough that we needed to stain them in our basement before installation! We've told neighbors not to use them.
