Morgan's Tree Service

Went well, super fast actual tree removal and trimming. Was done before the scheduled time and did a very good job of cleaning up (even removed some other non-related piles of stuff). Good pricing, prompt visit for a quote (actually used a quote from a previous year). Got us in during a busy time with not too long a wait. Trimmed 2 tall trees and dropped 1 tree and ground the stump.

Tim Morgan inspected a large stub left by a major branch which broke off from one of our maple trees (I called him on the evening of July 4th and he came by at 7:30 AM the next morning). He told me that I should have it cut off to prevent the spread of fungus. However, instead of trying to book the job, he volunteered that I could wait several years to have the work done until I had the tree trimmed again. He also spoke with me at length about some questions I had. All without charge. I was not surprised by the integrity he demonstrated. I originally found him through Angie several years ago. His crews have done periodic trimming of my maple trees and the removal of a large mulberry tree. I have been very happy with their prompt scheduling and the quality of their work. I know from various discussions with Tim that he is very knowledgeable and keeps up with developments in his field. It is obvious that he loves trees and what he does. His crews showed they care about what they did. His prices for the work his crews did have been reasonable. My first call for tree work will always be to him.

Exceptionally well. Very please with work overall. They explained what they could do, and why they did what they did and made sense. Plan to hire again for some other work in future. Had to push trimming the oak tree into spring, but gave notice. Excellent communication.

I have had this company do previous tree work and was very pleased. For this job they needed to remove a large boxelder tree in my backyard. The crew arrived on time and again they did a good job. They had to work in my garden so even though it was show covered I asked them to try to avoid walking in certain portions of the garden. They did the best they could given how the sections of the tree had to be dropped down. The owner Tim Morgan is a very nice person to deal with. I will certainly use them again. The cost was lower than other tree services that I received bids from.

The owner promptly responded and was helpful with questions I had about the conditions of some of my trees. My trees were trimmed well and for a fair price. My Linden tree was treated for Japanese beetles this year, but the treatment wasn't effective. The owner, on his own initiative, cancelled the invoice! A very ethical company that I will use again.

They came out and looked at work that needed to be done and said I didn't need to be at home. I wasn't there but everything looked good. No changes needed. I was satisfied with them.

I've used Morgan's Tree service many times and they always do a fabulous job.

We haven't decided yet if we will use them. I have to get another estimate from somebody. I got an estimate from one other company and I'm gonna get a third estimate before I proceed.

After finishing one tree I noticed they had gone back to work on it. When I asked why, they told me my neighbor had asked them to remove a limb. They didn't check with me before moving forward. When they were "done" I went around and noticed that a couple things in the quote hadn't been done. Some areas that were cut, looked more like they had been broken off. The result looks pretty sloppy. There were limbs left in both my and my neighbor's yard. In the back, instead of dropping limbs onto the lawn they were layered onto my garden bed. I'm still waiting to see if the perennials will bounce back. I sent an email to the owner with these concerns. He said he would check with his crew and get back to me. After a week, I haven't heard. All of the above having been said, the crew, itself, was very courteous, and patient. I wanted to amend my prior review with updated information. Tim did get back to me and took my concerns seriously and his response was very good. He came out to take a look at elements of the job that I wasn't satisfied with. He made another trip to correct this concerns without further charge. He also was willing to take off an amount from the invoice for my extra time

They said yes, did it within days and did a very professional job.

The company was very responsive and friendly. I just chose another company based on price, but I believe this company came out twice to give me estimates. I would have used them had the other bid not come in less expensive.

From the initial consult with estimate, to scheduling, and then executing the job, all went smoothly. Tim listened to my concerns and gave his professional advice. The health of the tree was always a priority. He came up with a plan and, with the help of his polite and professional team, executed the job. Watching them work was like watching Navy Seals. It was a strenuous job to tackle. They cleaned up the yard nice and even dug up some plants that were in their way, replanting them before they left. I am very happy with the result and will not hesitate to hire Morgan's in the future.

Great! Estimate was timely and reasonable. Work schedule was backed up, but work was done earlier than originally scheduled. Clean up was very well done. I got a lot of good information about my trees.

The guys did a fantastic job and were very knowledgeable. Tim informed me that what I wanted them to do would not be in the best interest of the tree but they did suggest an alternative option that still achieved my goal to protect the house and bring more light through and was much better for the health of the tree. They did a great job on clean up and did not damage our brand new lawn. I plan to hire them again in the future.

I was very pleased. The estimator determined the branch would be difficult to get down with their equipment, so he referred me to another company. But their customer service was excellent! I would be happy to use them in the future. To me, customer service is very important.

Tim was very quick on sending one of his crew out to do the estimating, we reviewed all items, and the estimate was received the next day. Scheduling was agreed to happen a few days later. We discussed concerns over limited access due to a gate, and was assured that one way or another they would work out how to remove the remains. This was noted to be a bigger job, taking a full day. The crew of two (one of whom was the estimator) arrived on time and went to work. They were very respectful of avoiding anything that might cause issues with the property, including not parking in the driveway just in case there were oil drips from their chipper. The two worked diligently all day. Tim came on site halfway through to review the progress, and lent a hand for a couple of hours. In the end, the job proved bigger than first assumed, and they were unable to finish. The remaining work was scheduled for 5 days later on a Saturday. Tim called about the branches on the house - he apologized in that it was an elm, and to avoid disease issues, he would have to postpone that part of the work until late fall. We were not billed for that part of the job. They started mid-morning on Saturday, and finished removal by mid-afternoon. We received the invoice shortly after, via e-mail, with assurances we didn't have to pay until the stump grinding was complete. Stump grinding is sub-contracted and was vaguely promised "next week", later via e-mail as "by the end of the week". While the first few weekdays after were nice, mid-week and later saw several thunderstorms. On the Thursday of the week, I contacted Tim, wondering about the schedule. Tim was unaware the sub had not yet done the job. A return call informed us that the sub had stopped by, and decided the ground was too wet, so he elected to skip rather than potentially damage the lawn. Odd that he neither talked to us, nor informed his contractor about the delay! The holiday weekend was also very rainy. On Tuesday of the next week, I let Tim know that we would be leaving the following Friday, and would be unable to remit payment until our return, if the weather allowed the work to be done before then. Late that afternoon, the stump guy stopped by, and did one tree in the front. He said he could not get his machine through the gate, so we would have to take down a section of our cedar fencing. We were then to call, and he would be right over. I did so early the next morning, but he did not arrive until late afternoon. Was promised that the cleanup would happen about 40 min. later by another person. He arrived two hours later. Cleanup was done using a large tractor, and consisted of scooping up most of the piles of chips. Filling consisted of raking leftovers back into the holes. While not enough bother for us to recall them, this left us with needing to re-rake, and remove additional, plus supplement with some additional dirt. This was a vague part of the discussion about services, with not being specific about terms and Tim's estimator not detailing what might be left to do when they were done. Conversation with the stump guy at the end revealed that he also had a slightly small machine that probably would have fit, eliminating the need for us to disassemble the fence, but that "he wan't using it currently". He noted a concrete step that would have been an issue - but if we had known, I would have loaned him the ramps I use just for getting around this issue! Overall - Tim gets an "A" for his company's direct work, but the stump sub-contractor gets a "C" grade!

Tim did a thorough evaluation of our trees & gave an estimate based on our immediate needs. We couldn't be more happy with the work & professionalism provided by his crew - they were on time, respectful, wore appropriate safety gear & cleaned the area when they left. We will definitely seek their service in the future.

Morgan's Tree Service was very professional. They knew their business and provided excellent advice. They did work that was exactly as we had discussed and for the estimated price. They were professional and prompt and thoroughly cleaned up all the tree trimmings. They were easy to work with and provided electronic communication of the estimate, invoice, and payment, which is very convenient. We will use them in future for any tree care needs.

I obtained price/service quotes from 2 different companies. The first company (not Morgan's Tree Service) said that every tree and bush on our property needed some sort of pruning or fertilizing or pest control. That's a total of 18 trees and bushes, several of which were professionally pruned a few years ago. This left me wondering about their motives. Tim Morgan, on the other hand, said that most of my trees and bushes look great and don't need anything. I felt that he was being more honest with me about the health of my trees and bushes. Due to most of the service being performed in the winter, the crew was at our place 3 times to be sure the job was completed to our satisfaction (some of the work had to wait until the snow was melted so the bushes could be accessed). When we felt we wanted a bit more pruned off our birch trees, they came back quickly and did exactly as we asked. It's clear that they know their business well (based on suggestions for the trees' health as it relates to pruning) and also want the customer to be completely satisfied. This is the second time we've used their service, and I will contact them again for future work.
