I spent approximately a month traveling to and from a number of fabricators and stone lots. Both my wife and I were getting very frustrated with the lack of service, delays and product availability. Then we met we met with Universal based on a suggestion from a family friend and in less than 30 minutes, we identified the stone, established a timeframe for measurements and scheduled delivery of the product. Amazing! Universal went beyond what I was expecting from an installer, the measurer provided suggestions on how best to support the weight of the bar top without creating an additional seam, suggested how to handle corners and logistics on delivery. The installers were punctuational and took additional measures to make sure no damage would result in our existing structures. I couldn?t be happier, I am now planning my next granite purchase and Universal is the clear choice for our family.
Description of Work: Universal installed five (5) counter surfaces; four were installed on a custom bar and the final on a theater concession cabinet.

A+ all the way from planning through installation and cleanup. Planning was effortless due to their large selection, creative ideas and customer service. Price was our initial attraction, but that was replaced by these more important attributes. Unlike all other bidders, Universal managed to fabricate a large center island out of a single piece of granite. It was no small feat given the weight and installation challenges. But they did it matter of factly, and it's gorgeous. Installation was also a breeze. They we're prompt, professional yet cheerful and a pleasure to work with. They carefully removed existing countertops and hauled them away for a pittance. We'd heartily recommend Universal for any granite project no matter how complex.

They have a good selection of stone, with a few choices that others did not have, the price was good so we went ahead and set it all up and paid the deposit. After that - we had a very difficult time getting call backs from the sales people about question on picking out the stone and apointments. The guy came out to measure, nice guy very professional, measurements were perfect. He worked with us to ad some nice details that we had not thought of. installation was scheduled for first appointment of the morning, so we had taken time off work to be home. We got a call the day before and they said they had changed the time till the later in the afternoon. This wouldn't work with our schedule so I called them to see if they could honor the original time. The manager of the store that I talked to was a MAJOR JERK! He told me that he didn't know why we though we were so special that we could just call and make them change the schedule. I told him that it was them who had changed the schedule and we just wanted them to honor it since we had taken time off work. He went on and on about how he thought we were being difficult and was yelling at me, yes yelling that it was just impossible to change the time. After much yelling and ranting- he did honor the original time, but made us feel bad for making his life difficult. The installation went fine and the guys were on time and professional. It looks great. SO if you can put up with a jack*ss of a manager and less than great response time from the sales people - this was a good value and well done.

Counter tops look great. Unfortunately we had new windows installed prior to installation and the wood work was dinged up during the installation process. Our dishwasher door now also rubs on the side of the cupboards when the door closes. We also are not plumbing experts, and were told any sink would work but due to where it drains, the new sink sits lower than our old one and we now have drainage issues..

After getting prices from five different installers, they came in almost $1,200 dollars lower than the rest. Ordinarily I would have been skeptical of such a low quote, but after reading the reviews on Angie's List, I decided to go with them. Jenna and I played a bit of telephone tag, but then got the questions and particulars down through emails. She was difficult to get hold of on the phone, but with my working hours, so was I. I'm very happy with the end result and have already referred others to them. I wish I could post before and after pictures, it's gorgeous!
Description of Work: Removed existing countertop, disconnected faucet and garbage disposal, they then installed a granite countertop and backsplash of approximately 55 sq. ft. Their recommended plumber, later that day, put in the new faucet (purchased separately by us) and reinstalled the garbage disposal. The price included removal, disposal of the countertop, removal of the existing faucet and disconnecting the garbage disposal, a new stainless steel sink, choice of one of six different edgings, estimate, drilling of up to 5 holes for the faucet or dispensers. It did not include the plumber's installation of the new faucet and reconnection of the garbage disposal, but the $170.00 charge for that seemed to be about what I would have expected.

We are so happy we worked with Universal stone for our granite. The entire project was flawless from start to finish. We worked with Corey. He was extremely patient with my indecision and changing my mind several times. The granite is sold by the square foot - not by the slab so one does not have to purchase more than is needed. The selection at Universal stone is fantastic. I appreciate that slabs in stock could be viewed online. The total square footage was approximately 57 square feet which included a garden window. The measurements were perfect. The install went without a glitch. They even had a plumber come out to reinstall the sink, faucet and garbage disposal (for an extra $150.00). Our garbage disposal went out (it was 12 years old) and the plumber actually drove to Menard's on his own to purchase a new one (we paid for it). The granite looks FABULOUS - we couldn't be happier. I would recommend Universal Stone to everyone.

I emailed 4 granite fabricators with details of our kitchen project, measured drawing of the countertop pieces, and photos of the kitchen, and a couple of granite selections for rough quoting purposes. All others had their quotes to us within two days. Universal called us roughly a week later. In particular, they require you to select your granite at one of the warehouses (a normal process) and select them as the fabricator on the warehouse records (a normal process once one has chosen a fabricator) before they will issue a rough quote. Universal seems to have quite positive reviews, but the other fabricators made it easier to scope out the ballpark cost of the project.

Although we were certain we wanted to use Universal Stone as our fabricator, we were not certain if we wanted to use you for your stone. My husband was dead set on getting stone from another wholesaler when we went last Friday, but I told him we needed to wait until we checked out Universal Stone. I am glad we waited! For one, if we bought it from a wholesaler we would have had to buy the full slab. Second, you were right - universal stone has a fabulous selection of traditional and accent pieces for our island! PLUS COREY was the only person out of 3 wholesalers we went to that gave us samples so we could take home to match cabinets and wall tile! What is also great is that we know the price right then and there! No guessing and wondering what the price points actually meant in dollar signs! Jenna - I have not forgot about you! You were awesome to work with and quick to respond! Thank you. Universal Stones offers the whole package! You guys ROCK

I wanted a early appointment but they called on Wednesday (16) and said 2 PM or 3 PM so I said it would be OK . He should up at 815 AM I was,ent ready. He had a vacum so I thought he would catch most of the dust and dirt it was loud so I left the room and when I returned there was dirt all over and a dust cloud , he did clean the counter and some of the floor but there was dust and all over the house. I think he should have put up plastic.

Jenna was very easy to work with and patient with my questions. Pricing was competitive for a higher quality granite (I compared 5 granite companies). The installers did a great job and were very professional. This is my 3rd house in 8 years and first time countertops were measured using a laser -- very precise. I love how my kitchen and bathrooms turned out.

Corey and his team were fantastic. My husband and I had a difficult time deciding on which granite we wanted and Corey was incredibly patient with us. I went to 4 other places, all on Angie's List, and Universal Stone in my opinion was the best. We got wonderful service and skilled professionals as well as a great price. No addtional costs that you have to ask about - everything is covered. They took accurate measurements, and installed 60 sq. ft. of granite with lots of angles and a long overhang in our kitchen. In addition we were able to get a different granite remnant for a bathroom vanity. We are very happy with both granite tops.

The bathroom vanity is gorgeous. Universal Stone is completely professional, they are here when they say they are going to be, they delivered, fabricated, delivered, and installed the vanity on time or earlier. I am anticipating this type of work to continue as we use them. Cory is our contact and he is on top of everything. They have a very professional operation and their prices are highly competitive. We were going to go with a different company until we found them.

Excellent! Corey was outstanding to work with. The entire process from estimate, measuring, selecting stone and install was perfect. Always on time, always highly informative, always professional, and without any sales pressure. Price was great too - yes, granite is expensive, but their rates are good with no hidden or extra costs. They are a direct supplier. The entire process was wrapped up in 4 weeks. It looks outstanding. Thanks Corey and the team at Universal Stone.

If you are in the market for granite countertops, this is the place to go. I worked with Corey and he was great. I looked at several different places. Universal's pricing is very competitive and the service I received was wonderful. Corey followed up with me on everything, including providing a picture of the lay out of the granite countertops before they were completed. The installers were very efficient and the new counters fit perfectly. Everything was cleaned up well before they left. They also referred me to someone who put in a new faucet and reconnected the plumbing and rewired the cooktop for a very reasonable price. I'm very pleased with the look of the counters and how well the whole process went.

They quoted me around $4000. We communicated through emails, and everything seemed to be fine. The next step would be is when I talk to him. I got my last bid last week, so I think they made it to a short list, as far as they and the other bidder are trying for comparative bid. I didn't have a lot of interchange, other than a couple of emails.
