Paul Grabow helped us from beginning to the end. He helped us pick the right color, with the right price that fits our budget. Our granite tops were installed yesterday, it is so beautiful, the color goes well with our cherry cabinets and cherry floor. The entire house has brightened a lot. Paul is very friendly, considerate, responsible, and competent. I walked in a very early morning in June, Paul gave me a warm welcome and detailed introduction of the shop: he asked and listened carefully about our needs/requirement; when he learned we were preferring a quick turnaround, he offered us one week from measuring to installing, which is almost the fastest I know. He showed me the show room with all beautiful granite slabs, gave me the pro and cons of each pricing group and color group; showed me the fabrication workshop by the show room, and ensured me the best quality even with a quick turnaround: they have their own slabs in stock and their own workshop, which has the quick turnaround feasible without compromising quality. Also Paul showed me the stock of remnant pieces, with a big discount and a flat price per square foot, we can pick a beautiful piece for our web bar. Paul took a copy of the cabinet layout, gave me an estimate within a couple of hours. He listed out the options with different price groups, and gave me quite a few pieces to take home, so I can see the color effect with my cabinets side by side. Paul is very considerate and flexible. We installed our cabinet ourselves, when he learned that, he made a trip to our place to give a lot of valuable advises to make sure we’ve done right with our cabinets installation in order to support a heavy and valuable granite top. When we expressing our interests of ordering granite tiles for area close to the countertop, he gave the advice of not doing so, cause the tiles will not be much visible when the attention was concentrated on the countertop, we won’t get the focus on the money we are spending. He is right! we used regular tiles for that area instead, I didn’t pay much attention there when the countertop was installed. He is so helpful, we had a few changes with our design and selection, he always gave quick responses and tried to help us out in all aspect. He tried very hard to find the remnant piece we liked for our wet bar. We are 100% satisfied with the product and the service we got.

I saw this company listed in a print publication and looked at their website. I looked at all of their available remnant pieces pictured on their website, as well as their other offerings and spoke with Dimitry, who gave me a quote over the phone. I then drove to Universal's showroom and selected the remnant piece of granite that I wanted for our vanity. Universal then sent someone to my house to measure the exact size of granite needed for the vanity top. A week later, the granite was installed. I also purchased an undermount sink from Universal at a discounted rate, which they installed after removing my old cultured marble vanity to. I am very pleased with the quality of the product, the professionalism of staff, and the quick turnaround from start to finish. I plan on using them again for our other bathrooms and possibly our kitchen.

Universal Stone replaced our new granite counter tops. Now they are so beautiful! We no longer have a jagged seam in a bad place, chips, under mount sink that was not flush, and distance from cabinet that is not consistent. We can't say enough about how professional and nice these people are. We worked with Paul Grabow. He has been such a joy - making sure everything is perfect. The people who installed them were also very knowledgeable and courteous and left no mess at all. Paul coordinated the plumber - also perfect - everything done in one day. Can't say enough good about them - we give them an A++++++++++.

They came to give estimate, then to measure and finally to install. They were neat, clean, professional and kind. They cleaned up perfectly. The plumber came later in the afternoon to install the faucet. All just great!

Universal Stone has been a great resource for counter top solutions for our family home. We have used this company twice and each time they came in on-time and within budget. This company gave us great options in materials selection. They met each job schedule completion date and all installations were completed with a great attention to detail and the installation crews were professional in everything they did.

Corey was the main guy we talked to and we liked him. We would definitely use Universal Stone again. In fact we probably will within a year or two when we finish off the bar area downstairs.

I was pleased with them overall. Their clean-up was good. There were no signs that they had been there. I would recommend them.

Their quote was lower than the one competing company. I chose them because of the recommendation. They did good work and showed up on time. They did what they said they would do.

We had a estimate from a big box related contractor and thought that it was the best proposal for price and quality. Our painting contractor suggested we get a proposal from Universal Stone as he had worked on projects with them. Our contact turned out to be Corey Pierce who arrived when promised and responded within 24 hours with a proposal. We were happy to see that it was about 20% cheaper than the source we had expected to use and placed our order. Our estimate included a choice of sinks but I found a larger sink and Corey said they would provide it at no cost change. They gave us a choice of four granite distributors and we selected our granite from one who claimed to be the Twin Cities largest stone selection center. Even though they indicated that it might be an upgrade from a base proposal, Corey said there would be no upgrade charge. Installation was scheduled for about 10 days after granite selection. About three days before the installation date, he called to see if they could move it up one day. The installation crew arrived on time. Corey showed up twice during installation to make certain that everything was being done to our, and his, satisfaction. The crew was a friendly bunch that answered our questions and made us feel that everything was going to plan. Corey came the next day and we were happy to pay him the quoted price for granite counter tops that looked as good as we had hoped. Next year I expect to have them install bathroom counter top.
