We were very happy with our experience with YoungCastle Bathrooms and would recommend this company to anyone thinking about a bathroom project. Starting with the bid process, Dimitri showed up on time, was respectful, and spent the time he needed to measure and clearly document the project. After the proposal was ready, he stopped by and went through every item in detail - the work breakdown for demolition, carpentry, plumbing, tile work, and other optional labor work. Everything was clearly spelled out, and Dmitri answered all of our questions. Our project lasted three weeks. He was on time every day - not a minute late. He would always spend a few minutes every morning going through his plan for the day, reviewing any change requests, and answering questions. The path to the work area was covered and taped with tarps; every single item that needed to be preserved was wrapped and taped with plastic. Entrances to the nearby bedrooms were covered (and the plastic was removed at the end of each day). The mirror and the vanity in the bathroom were properly protected. We were very impressed with his attention to detail. The quality of Dimitri's work was superb. As he was laying down the tiles, he took the time to make sure no tiles with repeating patterns were next to each other, and made sure the tiles were from the same lot. He inspected the new bathtub for defects. He was very conscious about how the project work would inconvenience us (we are all working from home) and he made sure we had plenty of advance notice before the water needed to be shut off for plumbing work. As part of the project, he also took hundreds of pictures to document the process. When you’re looking for a contractor, you want someone who has excellent skills, is dependable, responsible, and pays attention to detail. You will be happy with YoungCastle Bathrooms.

Cost to high. Did not hire.

I had four contractors bid the job. Youngcastle was in the upper middle range. I selected Youngcastle because there wasn't anything in either job that they weren't confident they couldn't do. Based on what I wanted, they came back with a computer generated diagram of what both of my bathrooms would look like completed. This and their very detailed step by step description of what each bathroom entailed was the deciding factor in hiring Youngcastle. Demitri did all of the work on my bathrooms. He was very careful with my home by removing all of my wall hangings so they would not fall when doing the main demolition. He always covered my floors with tarps and hung plastic over my furniture and tables to help protect them from the dust Each day he would let me know what he had finished and what he would accomplish the next day. Except for tile, sink, shower doors, light fixtures, paint, mirrors, etc; he would shop for whatever he needed to do the job. He would give me all of the receipts for what he purchased. After I painted the main bathroom, the color I selected was not right, it just did not go with the tile. I told Demitri to go ahead and put in the sink, toilet, medicine cabinet, and light fixture, I would re-paint later. He called said he would wait a couple of days for me to repaint the bathroom so I didn't have to deal with painting around all of the fixtures. That was a life saver. After the jobs were finished, I changed my mind on where one of the towel bars was hung and asked Demitri if he would come and move it to a different wall. He came two days later and move it for me, he also put up a valence bar for me. and quot;Above and beyond the call of duty.and quot; I'm very pleased with both of my bathrooms. Demitri did a beautiful job. My brother, who is critical and short to give a compliment, said my main bathroom was gorgeous, and that the basement bathroom was a vast improvement and now, actually looks like a bathroom. I would definitely hire Youngcastle again.

George and Dimitri are one excellent team; I met with George initially, explaining what I want to do with my old outdated two bathrooms. George explained what I should expect work wise and cost wise. They will go pick up items I ordered in the morning, and they will haul away the removed old stuff. Dimitri is an excellent craftsman, courteous hard working young man, he make sure to explain what was being done, and what will be done next day, and why he needs to wait till the floor gets dried before he installs the vanity, he put extra effort on details, color of cement/groute, and etc,... My bathrooms look so professionally done. Thank you, Dimitri. Thank you, George.

We hired YoungCastle to change our shower. We had black mold growing on the grout and I had tried to clean it with different solutions. I couldn't get it white again so I called YoungCastle. They sent out Dimitri to look at our project and he informed us that it seemed that the mold was below the tile and that the shower would need to be redone. We did call two other companies-one quoted us $2900 and they would choose the tile (give us a few samples to choose from) and faucet. The other company quoted us $1000, but we thought the fellow was drunk who came to see us. We called the referrals that YoungCastle gave us and they all had glowing reports and now I can see why. They came to the job when they said they would and laid down tarps each morning and picked them up each evening. It only took four days! Dimitri explained that you shouldn't grout the tile the same day that you put it up. It is better if it can set for a day. I am very pleased. I don't worry about the mold now because when YoungCastle opened the walls, I got to see where the problem was. They cleaned the wood 2x4s(?) and then put a paint-like finish on them so they won't mold again. Then he explained about the boards that they used on the walls before the tile went on. I was very happy that they were so willing to answer all my questions.

Our bathroom had a quite a few issues: our tub had lost its finish, the wall area underneath our double hung window was bulging and our faucet and tile was very outdated. My husband and I called 4 contractors and after meeting George at Youngcastle we felt confident that he knew exactly what our problems were and how to fix them. Although two of the contactors we called for estimates were around 500 dollars cheaper for labor, we felt George was very responsive to our needs and had a wealth of knowledge. Also, Rosalie in the office either answered our calls right away or called us back within the hour. We purchased our own tub and faucet and ordered a window through Youngcastle. Dimitri, the lead foreman, laid tarps everyday from the backdoor to the bathroom while he tore out the tub, window and walls. I was happy I did not have to sweep after them everyday. They left everyday with the house in a very clean condition. The only thing I had to deal with was dust from the bathroom tear out. Now we have a beautiful glass block window with a vent that we can open in the spring and summer months for air flow. We have a beautiful new tub with gorgeous tile all the way up to the ceiling. All of this work took less than two weeks! We are very pleased!! At the end of the work, George explained how to use the faucet, tub drain and window vent. He also explained their one year, full warranty so if we have any issues they will be glad to return to fix it in a timely manner. I completely trusted Youngcastle with our home while we were both at work during the day. When we came home each evening our house was returned to a normal condition so our lives weren't as interrupted by the remodeling as they have been with a contractors we've used in the past. We have an unfinished area in the basement and next year we will definitely hire youngcastle to create that space for us! I highly recommend their services!!

Horrible experience. Poor quality tile workmanship. Unconcerned about our dissatisfaction. Feedback handled antagonistically. Blamed us for purchasing sanded grout requiring at least 1/8' spacing of wall tiles. Evidently, YC does not usually work with 1/8' spacing and sanded grout on walls. Those materials are common for walls according to other bathroom experts. Blamed us, because they used wrong color grout for surround. We reviewed all materials w/YC owner on workday 1, and no concern was expressed about purchased materials - just wanted more $$$ for installing recessed boxes. We were on-site during installation to answer questions. YC did not correct un-level floor - 1st said they used extra thinset - then that is wasn't possible - then claimed it was not required, because it wasn't expressly listed in contract. YC's response to request for reduced charges for unsatisfactory work was to threaten lien rather than negotiate. No accountability. Job completed by another contractor.
