Jeff was easy to schedule and came to the job on time. He worked for six hours while I was away from the property and called me with an update on what he had accomplished and what he would come back to finish the next day. Later that day I came to the house and inspected his work. Three of the faucets he installed were installed crooked/not centered. The shower trim had been replaced, but both shower heads still dripped. Worst of all, there was a large wrench indentation on one of the new shower heads and the finish had been scratched off. None of this had been mentioned to me in his status call. When I called him to ask him about it, he did own up to the damage and said he would replace the part and reinstall at no charge. However, he said the leaking shower heads were just "water sitting in the big railhead shower heads and dripping out"! Given the number of issues, I told Jeff we wouldn't need his services the next day and paid him for his time - after he took an ample deduction off his bill for the damage caused. To his credit, he handled his dismissal very professionally. When we later had another plumber out, I learned that the faucets were not only crooked, they had not been sealed properly, and that he had only replaced one part of the valve in the shower heads. Once another part was replaced the dripping was corrected. I think Jeff wasn't familiar with Kohler faucets and was in over his head, overall. I would not do business with him again, and feel as a devoted Angie's List member, I need to provide an honest report of my interaction with him. The biggest issue I had was that he wasn't very up-front about the damage he caused on our new shower head. I can't help but be suspicious that he hoped I somehow wouldn't notice. Even if it was an innocent lapse of communication, it caused a breach of trust to the extent that I didn't want him performing any additional work in our home.
