Days of subzero temperatures froze the pipes in our upstairs bathroom and they burst, causing water to cascade through the downstairs bathroom ceiling and down the walls, quickly flooding the floor. We called Dad's Plumbing right away and by the time we had the water mopped up (less than 1/2 hour) Andy was here--which was especially impressive, since it was an emergency call after regular business hours. He replaced the hose under the upstairs sink that had an obvious burst, but then had to cut a hole in the (already soaked and ruined) downstairs ceiling to access the others. By doing that he ended up locating another 3 places where copper pipe had burst. It was a real relief that what seemed like such a disaster at the outset was resolved so efficiently and professionally by Andy--bonus that he's really a nice guy too. He gave us confidence we were in good hands the minute he walked in the door and didn't let us down. I'd absolutely recommend Dad's Plumbing to anyone.

I called Dad's Plumbing and Heating because I chipped the overflow tube while installing a fill valve and wanted a price to remove the tank and install a flapper kit. He told me I could saw off the top of the tube and lower the water level. This saved me the cost of having a plumber come here. Another plumber on 202nd St. in Forest Lake, tried to sell me a new toilet. What a difference in plumbers!

They came on time. They knew what to do and had the power snake to unplug the drain. The guy worked hard and got it going well. Cleaned up after himself.I was very satisfied with their service.

I had called several plumbers to evaluate a sewer gas smell in a small basement closet where the lift pump lines were located. The first plumber sealed everything to eliminate the odor, but it didn't seem to fix it. Another plumber couldn't smell it. Another plumber never got back to me. Finally I called Larry's at Dad's plumbing. He thought things looked sealed, but he agreed that it still smelled. He replaced some of the piping and resealed everything. The odor remained. We had agreed he would come back out and start tearing out the ceiling to find the cause of the smell. To my great appreciation, he spent time smelling around the closet and found a fruit tree spray chemical that seemed to be emitting a sewer-type odor. He suggested we remove the chemicals in the closet, air it out and see if the problem improved. It did! I'm so glad he spent the extra time investigating our problem and not cutting into the ceiling.

We were very pleased with the service. Andy installed a new toilet and replaced seal/flap that had worn badly in another toilet. Andy took care in making sure our toilet was leveled and didn't rock. He was very personable. We have had Dad's plumbing do all of our plumbing needs.

They made the job look pretty routine but what I was impressed with was that the owner asked if they should perhaps wait a bit before he came back to reconnect the bathroom plumbing so all the sealants/silicone would be set on the new counter tops. I called the counter top people and they said, oh yeah, you should have your plumber wait at least 5 hours. Good thing Dad's knew about this as the counter top people didn't inform me. The owner and his son are good people and know what they are doing.
