It was a couple of different quotes because I was looking at a couple of different scenarios. I chose them because of price, their knowledge and the overall presentation by the representative.

We had a very positive experience with all involved in the process.

We contracted with Sandau last October 2009 and the windows installation project started on a Sunday in early January 2010. It was cold with the windows removed, but Tom the installer took care to work on one window at a time and was professional and efficient. There were supposed to be at least two guys working on the project for the duration but the second guy didn't show up until 2 days into the project. We were also told by the salesman John that the project would only take one day -- it took at least three so my husband had to stay home longer than anticipated (I am guessing that if the project had started in late spring or summer when there are more day light hours it would have been completed quicker). After the third day on the project the workmen pronounced the job done and my husband made final payment. I assumed that my husband inspected the exterior of the house before he signed off and made the last payment -- but no, and that was a big mistake. By the time I got home from work it was dark out and I didn't notice the damage to the siding, broken J-channel, and missing trim on the egress basement window. I called Tom, the installer, immediately that weekend to let him know the situation. He came out that Sunday and we walked the perimeter of the house and he took note of the damages that needed to be fixed. We agreed that it would be best to wait until temperatures were above freezing to avoid any further cracking to the J-channel and siding. Tom was not aware that he was supposed to put a bronze wrap around the egress window (even though it was on the work order). Tom thought that the vinyl siding used on our house was no longer made but was going to look into it. I called in late March after all the snow had melted to inquire when the work would be finished and was told that they didn't have a replacement for the siding yet. I called in April to say that the casement windows (which I now had open since it was spring) wouldn't close properly and was told by the installer that he would be out when everything was ready, that "it probably just needed a minor adjustment "and that "I could always close it by pushing on the window from outside". The middle of May came and still no resolution. So I sent a letter to Wayne Sandau stating the seven different problems/issues that needed to be resolved. Wayne promptly called me back and promised that someone would be out the next week (of May 24) to finish the work. I got a call at the end of the week (May 28th) from the installer to apologize for their tardiness (the work order got lost) and that they would be out on June 2nd. But they stilll didn't have any replacement siding for the damaged area around the egress window. Between Tom and Wayne they figured that they could use a piece of siding from the garage which was hidden behind the bushes and move that piece to the side of the house. Wayne found a very close match to both the color and grain of the house siding. It was a great resolution but it shouldn't have taken over five months to get it resolved. Overall I would have to give Sandau Construction a "C" because they really dropped the ball. Also, I will have to re-sand and stain one of the casement windows as the woodwork was gouged when Tom tried to fix the "not closing properly" issue. Not to mention the light fixture that was broken during installation of the egress window(which they offered to pay for) and the glass all over the carpet that my husband had to use a shop vacuum to clean up. I can't complain about the tidyness of the crew though. They were very conscientious in removing their shoes when they were inside. And overall the interior work was excellent.

They said it would be four to six weeks after ordering. They were out in five and a half weeks. It took two days. There was no mess, they worked hard, and did a very excellent job.

Met with John...very good educator. We learned a lot about windows. He made it real easy for us to compare apples to apples with other companies. We checked Angies list and they had a great rating. He was not pushy and answered all of our questions helping us pick the right windows for us and our price range. They came out as planned. Took a little longer than expected to get the windows in, but that really wasn't John's fault. Installers were very professional and left no mess.

We contacted three companies that sold and installed Therma Tru entry doors. Sandau was one. John K. meet with us to hear what we had in mind and to show us the products they offered. Sandau offered Therma Tru and a door line called ProVia. John K. showed us samples and benefits of each door. We also went to their showroom to look at full size actual doors they had on display. We decided to go with the ProVia door line because we felt it was a better door all around and the prices were almost the same between door lines. John K. came back out because we had some real concerns about the way the doors would be installed, because our presnt doors were installed wrong and we have had nothing but trouble with them. John K. assured us they would be installed correct the first time or they would be back until they were. Sandau Construction has a written Lifetime workmanship warranty. We decided to go with Sandau. The next week Tom, the person who would be the one to install the doors come out to go over the order one more time and to do the final measurements. At that time I again expressed my concerns about in installation of the doors. Tom assured me he would install them properly the first time and he would show me exactly what he was doing before anything was covered up. Tom was a very professional and plesant person. He made sure I was informed and he made sure he cleaned up after he was through. Tom also is a dog person and he was great with our two dogs and that is a plus in our minds. He is a very capable craftsman and a positive representative of Sandau Construction Co. We have some future projects coming up and we will contact Sandau Construction Co.

Went very good, got a referrel from my mother in law, so checked out Angie's list and found the coupon and all the good feedback. Kevin came out to talk with me and we went through what will be done and about how long it would take, Greg I think was the guy doing the work and he went about his business for most of the day for about 5 days. Everything looks amazing, price was a thousand less than the rest of the estimates and my wife and I couldn't be happier with the results.

They were excellent. They were responsive, upfront and their products appear to be very good. Their pricing was reasonable. everyone I worked with, from the owner to the sales person to the installers, was great. I would highly recommend them.

They were extremely good. It was December when it was extremely cold--they didn't even stop for coffee. They covered everything from the front door, all the way through whichever room they were walking through while working. There were never long periods of open space where cold air could get in. They worked very quickly. They were upfront with their pricing. Very knowledgable about the rebates they were offering as they became available.

John, the sales rep for Sandau, was very professional and able to answer all of my questions. The windows came from the manufacturer within the time-frame specified. The installers were friendly and professional. They came on time and cleaned up after themselves. I had asked for help removing two pleated shades and re-installing them, and Tom (one of the installers) did a great job. I got four other estimates, and one was cheaper, but the windows were not of the same quality. I would highly recommend Sandau if you want good windows and no hassles.

Everything was good. The installers were very knowledgeable and thorough. They finished on time and all work was done well. The only hiccups were that our specific instructions to save the existing trim and to install foot locks did not make it on the installers work order. However, I was home and was able to explain before the trim was ruined and everything was fine.

Working with Sandau Construction was a very pleasant experience from start to finish. The salesman I worked with, John, was very knowledgeable about the different products and options and very helpful with color selections. The installers, Tom and Cole, were very prompt, professional and did a very nice job with the installation. The products are superior(Eagle windows and Provia door and with the high quality installation, my high expectations were not only met, but exceeded. The price quoted was what I paid. Very refreshing to not get nickle and dimed by add on charges. I have recommended this contractor to several of my family and friends and will use them myself again in the future.

They were excellent and I would hire them again.

Overall, the entire process, from estimate to installation to clean up was perfect. The salesman showed me different windows and did not pressure me to choose a particular window.

Referred by a friend to this company. Initial sales call impression was very good, product/industry knowledge and customer satisfaction was emphasized, not a hard sell. John, the salesman, was very willing to answer questions subsequently and met a couple additional times as needed with me as well. Once ordered, the time until installation was slightly longer than expected but I was not in a hurry. The installation was scheduled and delayed due to an installer's sickness, then the night before the rescheduled appointment the installer called to say he had quit. I called John who hadn't yet heard about the development and was soon contacted by the owner of the company, Wayne Sandau. My concern was that I wanted a quality installation and not substandard. He assured me the new installers for my job would have enough experience. He even came out to my jobsite the morning of the installation to reassure of his faith in the work to be done. Once the project was completed I received a follow up call to ensure it went well. I appreciated the personal interest the owner took in my project. The installation itself went well and was completed in less time than originally estimated. The site was cleaned up well, inside and out. There were a couple of minor follow up items that needed to be ordered and those took a while to receive, but they were very minor and I was not in a hurry. Overall, very happy with the company's commitment to a quality install and to my satisfaction.

It went okay. The sales pitch was not a hard sell, but I really had to guide him as best I could to keep him on what I wanted to know. Some windows claps easily and some windows clasp hard. They left a lot of cut medal pieces on the outside of the windows. The windows are nice, but I was a little disappointed in the installation and the mess that they left behind.

They helped pick out some windows and a sliding door that fit exactly what we wanted (color, brand, functionality). Installation and follow up was top notch. During the installation they ran into some quirks with the house that made the job far more difficult than expected but they did everything with a smile. Luckily for me they had a very high level of skills and expertise to make everything perfect at the end. Overall an A+ experience.

It went very well. It was wonderful. They are very honest and they are very trustworthy. Their workmanship is excellent. They are top notch and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Received an estimate for vinyl siding and windows for my home. The estimate was not one of the final two that I selected. Called to inform Sandau, and John asked to come out and see what he could do. John recalculated his estimate with Low-E Argon windows, and got the estimate down to 33K. John said that his boss had approved another 10% discount, and would I sign a contract for 30.9K? I said yes and signed the contract. 3 days later, John left a message informing me that his boss was canceling the contract because he would lose money at the price I was quoted. I was forced to call back two of the contractors that I had previously told "No" to and ask if they were still interested. One was and one wasn't. The one that was now charged 4K more than his original estimate. So the net effect was that by Sandau canceling what I thought was a valid contract, I paid out 4K more than I could have if I would have gone with one of the other contractors in the first place.

I heard of Sandau on a morning radio talk show, then went to Angie's List to check them out. John Kooiman, a salesman with Sandau came over and gave his presentation on the new windows. I had two other companies give me estimates and Sandau came in with the best in window quality that I wanted and labor cost. The two men that installed my windows each had twenty some years experience installing windows. I was afraid about having strangers in my house doing this work but I felt I could really trust these guys. It took them two and a half days. They did a excellent job of installing, caulking and wrapping the outside trim. Myself and the neighbors were very impressed with Sandau and the new windows.

Sandau did an outstanding job. The salesman was professional, detail-oriented and courteous. The company started work when it said it would and stayed with the job until it was done. The installation crew was also courteous and kept us informed of the progress and any problems they encountered. They cleaned up after each day's work. Upon completion, we had some problems with a couple of items and the crew came back and fixed them.

Sandau Construction and their employees did an excellent job on our home. We are very satisfied. They were organized, paid attention to detail, and worked on a couple of items on the home to improve the overall look of the house. We couldn't have asked for anything better. We would definitely recommend this company and we would have them again for projects in the future.

Our sales rep John was great and extremely helpful. He helped us with our selections and gave us a price. That was the price we were charged. The crews kept the areas clean and the job was done very well. When we had an issue with one of the windows getting moisture between the pains, they ordered a replacement immediately and without questions.
