Description of Work: They are replacing the service door on attached garage, but there was approx. a 6-week wait for delivery once the order was placed (so job not completed yet as of December 1). This will be a steel entry door complete with framing and finishing. Hardware (handle and separate deadbolt lock purchased separately from Twin City Hardware, but will be installed be Sandau when door is installed. Because the job isn't completed yet you might want to hold up on this report till job is completed.

Description of Work: We hired Sandau to replace our siding with proceeds from an insurance claim. We upgraded our siding in the process and while they were not the least expensive bid we received, we wanted someone who had experience and who would provide great customer service. We definitely got what we paid for! Everyone was great to work with and the siding install was a top quality job.

+ -1 moreThey charged me thousands less for essentially the same window than other window companies. They are the kind of people you would describe as down to earth, salt of the earth. They are very responsive to your concerns and try hard to please you. I cannot say enough about them. They were great! I can honestly say that they were thousands less than 4 other estimates. I would recommend them to anyone!

+ -1 moreSandau required a 50% deposit before ordering the windows. It took a week longer than expected to get the windows, but they were all custom built to specification. Once they were in, a subcontractor contacted us to pick up the windows and do the installation work. They were friendly and did good work. They did the job in two days. All old windows removed and new windows replaced the first day, and all of the aluminum wrap on the outside was done on the second day. The slider window required a special frame to be built and additional wrapping to be done. The additional work was done at no cost to me. All of the aluminum wrap was custom cut and caulked. Two windows had issues. One was with a sliding stop, which was fixed onsite. The other had a window pane ordered with frosted glass instead of clear with grids. This was reordered and replaced with the correct type of pane about two weeks later by Sandau at no cost. I'm not sure who messed up.
Description of Work: Sandau quoted and installed 10 windows in our house. They were Siminton brand windows which we wanted to match as closely as possible our windows replaced with Sears brand windows (which are rebranded Siminton windows). Since only Sears can get the model they sell, we got the next best thing for a lot less money. All windows, except one, were double-hung and some frames were starting to rot. One window was a slider-type window. Installation was to include removal and disposal of old windows, installation of new windows, replacement of rotting wood, additional insulation around frame and aluminum wrapping of all exterior wood. Interiors of certain windows were to be wood grained or have grids installed to match other windows in the house. One window in the bathroom had a frosted lower pane.

He provided many different options, and I was very impressed. The job superintendent was on top of it, here every day, and the job was well supervised. I would definitely use them again.
