I have dealt with many contractors over the years and Metro Concrete Raising Inc- is first rate! Randy the owner came out a day after I called him. After carefully looking at the area for the job he gave me a bid. I changed the job and called him with new changes- no problem. His crew: Marc, Jon & Aaron were awesome. They got to work and had a can-do attitude through out the project and they were terrific problem solvers. AND They cleaned up! I highly recommend this company!
Description of Work: Metro Concrete Raising dug out old sidewalk in front of doorway of my backyard studio building. There was a huge tree stump next to sidewalk where roots had lifted it so water would go towards the building and flood it. They quickly removed sidewalk and added a 10'x4' concrete area next to sidewalk. The job was scheduled for a week out-but the owner Randy was able to do the job a week earlier AND at a great price!

Things went perfectly. I received an estimate within a day or two and the work was performed within a couple days of accepting the bid. The sidewalk looked great after it was done!

Very good experience overall. They raised the concrete back to its original position, didn't crack the concrete at all, and plugged the holes they drilled well. The only issue we had is that there was a bit of cleanup left to do around the edges of the concrete, but nothing significant. Would strongly recommend.

excellent. raised and evened the sidewalk without damaging the surrounding plants and bushes. cost much less than a replacement. there are small white fill ins where they drilled into the concrete, but not a big deal considering how much better it looks.

Very nice on the initial phone contact. Prompt and punctual estimate by an estimator, different from office contact. Estimator (Ken I think) and I did a walk around together and explained the problem areas and what I needed done. The work was done by 2 different guys, done while my wife was home and I was at work. I was satisfied with about 80% of the work they did. At our back service door they were not able to raise a 3x4' slab and a few others to give positive drainage. At the front walk they tilted the walk in the wrong direction from what I had asked and this also disturbed some new asphalt work that we just had done. The estimator had given his disclaimer ahead of time that his guys would not be responsible if the asphalt was disturbed, which it was - raised and cracked by the mud. I don't think it would have been such an issue if the front walk was tilted in the direction I initially asked for, though. I contacted the office with my concerns and that there was still not positive drainage on the back of the house. This was after at least 1-2 calls to Ken's cell phone were not returned and I had to call the office directly to speak to someone. They sent the work crew back out for free and tried to do some more tilting on the back walk, but said they couldn't get the desired results because the slabs were just rising straight up when mudjacked, rather than tilting to improve drainage. Overall results were OK to improve drainage but not what I had hoped for. We also had an estimate for sandjacking that was about 50% more expensive but I think they could have been more precise in getting the desired tilt to the slabs. I would consider Metro Concrete again for a simple job but if more fine-tuned work desired I would go elsewhere. If their jacking had worked perfectly, this would have been a good price for the number of slabs worked on. I felt a little abandoned once they got our money for the initial job - phone calls started to not be returned, etc, but was happy they did come back out eventually to try to fix the work.
Description of Work: Raised about 17 concrete sidewalk slabs on 2 sides of the house to improve drainage away from the house. This included 2 slabs on the front walk and about 15 slabs leading from the back garage service door to the tool shed. The issue on the front walk was that a downspout came down onto the slab which was tilted towards the house so the water ran back towards the house when it rained. The issue in the back of the house was that we have a hill sloped towards the side of the house and the sidewalk had settled over the years to make rain water run towards the house instead of away.

Kenny arrived on time, and introduced himself. He quickly began the process of drilling the holes for the pumping. His helper, Luke, kept right up with him and the process for a 30' driveway took only 2 hours. I asked for additional work on an entry sidewalk and Kenny agreed on-the-spot to do it for only a few more dollars.I hope he doesn't get in toruble with his boss! I'm an old contractor and home inspector, and Kenny welcomed my questions, and when I got out my 4' level to check his work, he didn't blink. In fact, he worked with me to get the slope I wanted. They cleaned up thoroughly, even washing down the street where some slurry had collected.
Description of Work: The concrete driveway abutting my house had settled toward the foundation and water was eroding the footing. I called the top Angies List mud-jacking companies and Metro offered the lowest price, along with a 3-year guarantee. If I had chosen to tear up and put in a new concrete drive, the price would have exceeded $4000. 'Course, that would have come with a life-time guarantee from another Angies List top producer for new concrete flatwork..

Estimate was provided from digital pictures I submitted to the company (a real time saving). Within 24 hours I had a price for the job which was very reasonable when compared to replacing the slab. The work was performed quickly and the homeowners who were effected by the sloping pad are very happy. We will use this company again for future projects.

Arrived as scheduled. The concrete walk is L-shaped, I thought they'd take that into account when they raised it. They didn't and the walk cracked. It's a hairline crack across the walk, eventually it'll get larger and become more of a nuisance. I called to question how/why it happened and what needs to be done to prevent it from getting worse. The person I spoke with was extremely rude.... essentially,..."You're calling me for that!?!" On another note, and I expected this,....mudjacking a walk will leave a few round lighter color marks (depends on the size of the slab and how they jack it).

The experience was great from start to finish. I asked for an estimate and they came out and did it even though I was not at home at the time the estimate was completed. They gave a reasonable estimate and after discovering that it was the best deal we could find we scheduled the appointment right away. They showed up on time and were pleasant and easy to work with. They were done in one hour and the sidewalk looks great with the level concrete!!

I called 3 different companies for bids. Metro Concrete bid $910 while the other two were at $1400 and $835. I called Phil to discuss why I should use them over the $835 bid. He was very knowledgeable and they had a great rating from Angie's list. We scheduled the work but I had to call them at 2 pm that day to ask where they were. They had run out of cement so they had to cancel on me. I would have appreciated a call from them earlier in the day. I should not have needed to make that call. We rescheduled and they made sure to schedule me first thing that day. They did a fantastic job and saved me so much money over new concrete!

I called the company on some mudjacking that was needed for the front walkway of a rental property. There was a timeline and I wasn't at the property all the time. They went out within a day and gave me a bid. After I agreed and signed the bid they went out and performed the work. It looks great and I was billed exactly what they said I would be. They were courteous and very informative over the phone. I never actually had to meet with anyone and the job was really well done!

They returned my call the same day and set up a meeting for an estimate within a week. Kenny Harper came to do the estimate and gave us a thorough and professional writeup on the work to be done and the possible consequences (patched holes in the floor where they drill to pump in the slurry and some fine cracks because the slab of a 2-car garage cannot be raised without doing such). The bid was $1850 for a 29' x 25' garage slab. They showed up promptly on the scheduled day about 3 weeks later and did the work. Everything went as planned. We had to keep the cars out for 2 days to avoid any potential settling.
Description of Work: Our garage hand sunk about 6 inches in the back although it was still at grade in the front. Water didn't run to the back but it did pool in the middle especially in the winter with snow melt. Metro's bid included raising the garage back to its original level.

I feel that information was lacking in the description of the finished product. There was discussion about polyurethane caulking of the seams and my impression was that the areas that were being fixed would be caulked for a finished look and that other areas I would have to do myself. No caulking was done and upon my calling, I was told I misunderstood Phil and had not paid for any caulking. Waste of money to get driveway and walkway at steps raised without caulking...even but still looks terrible...little noticeable difference. I admit I have no experience with this type of construction, but feel work was not up to expectation. Polyurethane caulking written on invoice and circled...told that just meant it was discussed! Had to return to fill three drill holes not filled.
