Communication was good. The estimate was reasonable. Todd's workmanship was good. Additionally, he paid special attention to keeping the area neat-- putting down tarps and vacuuming the work area.

Not as professional as I'd expect for a number of reasons. They told me they'd be here one of two days but didn't show up. I had to call to find out I was rescheduled to a date that no longer worked for me so I had to reschedule. The handy man that arrived didn't know what the job was. He had to go back to the office to get equipment. Once he came back, he still struggled to get high enough to get to the ceiling and after asking permission put a ladder on my kitchen table. He regularly said things to himself about not knowing how he was going to do something. When it came to installing a track light he didn't know how to properly twist in the lights and I had to read the instructions to help him figure it out. After that he was unable to get the track lights working. He complained that he had to go home since he had a relative visiting and I was left with a non functional light and had to reinstall a light switch that he had removed. The track itself did have a problem but they claim the track was defective but I suspect it was damaged when the handy man was incorrectly installing the wiring component. I was promised over the phone that the cost of the track install would be deducted from the bill but when it came time only 1/7th of the bill was discounted for a job with 3 fixtures. I had electricians correctly install the track light the next week. They also noted the handy man had used incorrect anchors and the track light would have been at risk of falling.

They never provided the bid for the job.

I never received a response to request sent through his website.

Darren responded immediately asking us to describe what needed to be done. I responded stating we were looking to have a window installed. He responded asking if he could stop by on a Friday morning to discuss the project and I supplied our address, but he didn't show up nor did he reach out to reschedule. We'll look for someone else to complete the project.

The project went very well. We are totally satisfied.

Had some troubles with scheduling a time for the actual sub contractor to come and do the work. Subcontractor mentioned owner would only let them stay one day and so had to mud and sand in one day. Work was good for time allowed but not the greatest mud job.

Labor was very high at $144.00 an hour.

Great! Projects completed with full satisfaction and in a timely manner. Would recommend.

We had a shower faucet that wouldn't turn properly, a leaking hose in our kitchen sink sprayer, and an outdated smoke detector that was no longer working. I contacted Darren and he was able to have us on the schedule for an estimate within the week. Once he evaluated our issues, he got us on the schedule and within another week was working on the problems. The work took about a half day, with the only delay coming after he couldn't find a replacement hose for the kitchen. He offered to either continue looking, or install a new kitchen faucet/sprayer combo. We opted for the new sprayer and he selected one that matched both the style and finish of the rest of our kitchen while remaining affordable, functional, and an easier brand to find repair in the future. Their communication, promptness, and professionalism were greatly appreciated. We would definitely use them again.

TCH worked diligently to find the source of the leak, which turned out to be in several places around our front door and concrete step area. Darren and his team repaired those areas and we waited for the next big rain. We are happy to report that after a number of hard and soaking rainstorms since then, there has not been one drop of water that has gotten through and into to the basement. Additionally, there has been no dampness or moisture to be found anywhere in the former problems areas. Twin City Handyman came through for us again. We highly recommend TCH for all your handyman needs!

We had contacted several contractors that do bathrooms, but none that would do a project this small. Unless we were doing a total bathroom remodel or complete shower replacement, they didn't want to talk to us. This is when we turned to Darren at Twin City Handyman. Lester showed up to do the work promptly at 8:00 am. Covered all traffic areas to the second floor master bath with tarps to protect our carpet and proceeded to remove and dispose of the old shower base. He had to move one water line in order to position the new drain. He built up and secured the sub floor for the new base we had purchased at Lowes. He also had to remove one row of porcelain tile to compensate for the difference in height of the new base. After the new base was set he retiled and grouted the row of tile that was removed and reinstalled the shower door/enclosure. I might add that this new shower base, 42 X 42, was 125 lbs., the old one was maybe 15 - 20 lbs., which posed an added challenge to the project. Lester called in reinforcements (Nick) to help with positioning of the new base. Lester did an excellent job and we are very pleased with the outcome of the project.

TCH ended up installing it on one of the coldest days that year. We were very pleased with their work and knew we had found our "go-to" handyman crew. Our next project was the moving of several light fixture outlet boxes in our kitchen and once done, the repair of the ceiling that had a few small staines due to a soda explosion and minor bathtub overflow from upstairs. Lester, the technician on duty for this and most of the other jobs, is an expert at, among other things, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the end result. He repaired the area and then re-popcorn sprayed the entire area. It looked brand new when he was done. We were also in the middle of a kitchen remodel at the time and had ordered a new oven-microwave combo. Because the size was different from our previous model, the cabinet had to be altered. I was probably more worried about this than I was about any other project, due to the fact that the kitchen is the most often used and visible area in our home, however, once again, the crew at TCH outdid themselves. The end result was that the cabinet looked great and any sign of alternation was almost microscopic. As stated, TCH has been our go-to for all of our projects since we discovered them, including the installation of both garage doors on our house that needed to be replaced due to major rusting. For all the jobs listed above, we are estimating the total cost of the service part of our bill to be around $4,0000-$5,000. That said, we have been more than please with our relationship with Darren, Lester and the crew at TCH. They are both professional and friendly. Darren has always been quick to get back to us about any questions we have had, and when we had the problem with the doors that shifted, they were quick to follow up and correct the problem. Without question, we would recommend Twin City Handyman to anyone who asked.

First off, I have used TC Handyman before and the quality has been great. The problem lies in that a mis-communication on the contractors part should not be my burden. I walked Darren through the room and the work to be completed. I stated that I needed the seam fixed and the room painted. I have all the paint. He gave me a bid for $535 which stated on it that he would seam and re-seal the crack on three walls, sand ,and paint. When the contractor came he was surprised that I was using a different color than what was in the room. He thought that I was keeping the same color and only doing the bottom half. Obviously, we have a miscommunication here. When Darren reached out to me about the change and told me it would cost more I told him to stop painting. He came back with the cost being $385. I told him that I would be happy to allow him to complete the entire room for the original bid or I would pay him $300 for the work done on the seams. Like I said, the quality was good. He wouldn't have that, so I gave him the check for $385 and we parted ways. Long story short. Make sure you both are crystal clear on the work. On a side note, TC Handyman has lost a customer. Like I mentioned earlier, I had used them before, never again.

We would highly recommend Darren and his team at Twin City Handyman. We moved in to a new home and wanted to finish the garage. They finished the walls and installed custom-built heavy duty shelving and storage in the garage. They also built shelves in our basement and did some other minor repairs. The worked quickly, efficiently, were one time, professional, left no mess. Excellent work and we would call Darren again any time we need a repair. They seem to be able to do most anything!
