TruGreen Lawn Care - 5635

I called a week ago for quotes for a mosquito spray this last Saturday. I had two other companies lined up to come and spray our yard, but cancelled as truegreen was cheaper. I never heard back by Thursday on when they would be out. Got in touch with them again and they said it was never possible for them to be here before Saturday. By that time I couldn’t get any company out and me and my guests were eaten alive by mosquitoes. I now hear they will be here tomorrow, at this point I am extremely upset and will never schedule service with them again.

Terrible. Paid in advance. They cashed the check, haven't shown up yet and I have weeds everywhere. Hired them after having surgery that prevents me from lifting and fertilizing. In past always did it on my own. Looked for help, but got screwed! Read the reviews on Google, Better business bureau, and elsewhere. I did not do this but wish I had. My advice is hire a local, non franchise lawn company. Steer clear of True Green!

This company came out and fertilized my yard in the Spring also using weed killer. Within days the lawn died where they had dumped extra weed killer. After multiple phone calls and a couple of visits for inspection they admitted they were in the wrong. The company still decided to charge me for the services where they burnt my lawn even after admitting they were wrong and saying they would do a free aeration and seading to fix the damage

This was a seasonal cost for 6 or 7 applications. They over dumped in an area in the backyard and the grass died. I spoke to the technician about it and he indicated that he would tell the company so I thought that was taken care of and it wasn't. I never heard back. When they called this year to ask if I was going to sign up, I said no. I only heard from them when they wanted to up sell me something.

The cost is each time they come out. When they come out they just work on the lawn for me.

One worker usually comes out to perform the service. They leave a description of what they put down for treatments and when to water it and stuff like that.

I really like the actual service that TruGreen provides but if you ever have to get something accomplished through their customer service center it's nearly impossible. I renegotiated my rate as I learned I was paying more than others with a lawn the same size (or larger) than mine. For two years in a row, I have had to call multiple times to get a revised contract. It takes so long and so many attempts to get them to send a corrected contract that I have had to delay the spring per-emergent being placed on my lawn. I hate to leave TruGreen as their product is good but if their back-office team can not deliver on a simple task, I was forced to leave them. Lastly, when I asked the 3rd customer service agent I talked to if I can talk to a Supervisor she told me she could not do that. What kind of a company does not allow you to talk to a Supervisor when there is an issue. Unfortunate.

$46 a month. Need to work on customer care communications.

I won't use them again for pest control. I didn't notice any difference at all, from the treatments. They have a guarantee. So they came out several times. It didn't work for me. The service did not resolve the issue.

I have not used Trugreen in over two years. I received a phone call on 2/8/2016 from a representative who at first called me the wrong name and started out the conversation with "Hi we are just calling to let you know we have you on our schedule for this spring we look forward to seeing you". I actually was planning on using them again but with this shady phone tactic i will not be using Trugreen again. I hope people especially the elderly dont fall for this scam of a phone tactic.

This is the fourth application of the season. My yard looks wonderful. The cost for the entire year was $207.28. They treated my lawn with fertilizer and treated for broadleaf weeds, annual grasses, etc. I've been using them for a number of years.

Trugreen kept jacking up their prices.

We have been with Trugreen for around a year now. We initially contacted them because we have a creeping charlie issue, due to our neighbors disregard for lawn care or love of creeping charlie, I have yet to figure it out! Either way the problem persists! I have contacted them several times about it and they are always very friendly and do indeed stand by their word and have always had a technician out within two days to respray. The problem is they respray, it withers slightly and just comes back within a couple days. I can say it has helped with the parts of the lawn not affected by creeping charlie and has slowed the spread of it down. As far as their customer service goes.....like I said they are always friendly and prompt. About the only downside is I feel like they are always trying to upsell me something. I have been called frequently from them about everything from pest control to aeration and overseeding. I will continue to use the service for now to keep it at bay but I will be shopping some other companies if things don't turn around by next spring!

Went great. They always do a great job and our lawn looks like great. We purchased a house where the lawn was not taken care of. In the spring we had tons of dandelions. Our yard was yellow. By July 1st the weeds were gone and we had one of the better looking yards on the street. The only issue we have had is pricing. It seems to vary quite a bit, so make sure you negotiate with them on the price, otherwise you will end up paying to much.

Unfortunately TruGreen hires and markets using illegal and intrusive practices. One of their sales associates, Newt, has been told to not call our house at least eight times over a one year period. After being told not to call so many times the TruGreen Salesman looked up my home address and came to my house to sell me additional services. I was on an annual contract that automatically renewed. The service was mediocre at best and requires significant additional support. Having someone stalk you by phone for additional business and when they have been repeatedly told not to call they show up at your doorstep is grounds for this negative review and termination of my policy. I would NOT USE TRUGREEN under any circumstances.

The lawn has never looked better, they are doing an excellent job.

Everything went great, great customer service, they were prompt, a little pricey but not so bad in comparison so were very satisfied.

I have used Trugreen since 2010 and have had excellent service up until 2013. In 2010, 2011 and 2012 I had the same technician (Tom R.), who was fantastic. In 2013 I had different technicians. 4 of 6 different applications went well. My July application was applied on a day when the temperature was over 85 degrees. We were lucky the lawn was not burned. In my Sept. 2013 application, the technician used too much nitrogen and burned in trails all throughout my lawn. At my next and final appliaction in Oct. 2013 I was told that there was nothing they could do until the Spring of 2014. After all of the snow melted in 2014, my lawn had significant winter kill and snow mold. A phone call (on 5/13/2014) from my former Trugreen technician (Tom R.) told me that the the excessive nitrogen used in the Sept. 2013 application significantly compounded the propensity for snow mold and winter kill. Tom also told me that many other lawns in the area had the same thing happen in their fall 2013 applications. He would told me that he would be re-assigned to the area where I reside. Tom mentioned that my lawn could be rejuvenated, but that I would have to lighly rake the snow mold areas (i.e. my entire 6,000 sf lawn) and that a regular schedule of applications would lead to improved results. On 5/15/2014, Trugreen came out to my house (unannounced and unscheduled) and performed the first application of the season. I have been trying to contact Tom, but have not yet had a return call.I have since seen numerous white/orange circular and square spots all througout my lawn. In thos areas, the grass looks like it is dying. I guess I find it hard to justify paying over $400 annually when my lawn is on the way to being ruined. At the very least, trugreen should pay for fertilizer service until my lawn is in the shape it was before they used excess nitrogen and dmanaged my lawn.

In the last year of two it seems the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing so to speak. I paid for, via a contract, 4 applications spaced throughout the growing season. This last year, I got a phone call indicating they would be at my home making an application on a specific date which was just a few days after the second application. When the technician arrived, I asked him about this and he said yes he remembers being here a few days ago but was told to make another application. He agreed it made no sense and said he would hold off a couple of weeks or more. After three applications by the first mid-July, I received a call another application would soon be made. I phoned and said I only paid for four and asked wouldn't it be best to make a final application in the Fall as that is what I always understood was the process? After that I just let it go and if they wanted to make an application, feel free to do so but I am only paying for four as per my contract. I also had a representative of the Company come to the door on two occasions wanting to sell their services or add additional services. I informed the representative to check his records as I already have a contract. Again the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing it appeared to me. I was somewhat unhappy with some weeds appearing around the edges of the lawn area even though an application had been made. They will come by and "fix" spots of weeds that do survive an application but I am using another vendor after many years and will be interested to see if the weed treatment result is better.

The original spray took place on October 8th. 2 weeks later the weeds were not only still alive, but the vast majority of the dandylions were blooming new flowers. I called back on October 18th and voiced my concerns,and I was told that on the following Monday, the 21st, they would have a tech would be at our home between 8 and 9 a.m. This never happened. I called that Wednesday, the 23rd, and was told that a tech sprayed our yard the day before, on the 22nd. There is no possible way that the tech sprayed our yard, as the back yards gates were locked. My wife was home the whole month and no one ever knocked or anything since my 2 dogs never barked at anyone near the house. I have repeatedly told true-green (Morgan more than twice) that they were to call 24 hours ahead of time so the gate could be unlocked as I would not leave the gate open all week until they elected to show.The intitial spray on October 8th, was supposed to happen on the fourth, but they showed up four days later with no phone call telling us there would be a delay. To compound the issue, when my wife called to ask about the ongoing issues, she was spoken to quite rudely.The women she spoke to (Amelia) told her that he had until 5:00 to show (it was already 3:30), even though we were told prior that he would be there between 8-9 a.m. When she asked about the prior visit when he didn't show, she was told that he must have sprayed the wrong house and showed no concern. My wife asked her to note the account that if he didn't show that day that she was calling back to cancel service and the woman got ruder (if that was possible) and refused to note it. then she hung up. The guy never showed. I called back and was told there would be no refund. Monday I called Morgan and cancelled service once again voicing my displeasure. We were never given the and quot;free sprays between service callsand quot; as advertised. The following day, October 30th, I was home from work and a tech showed up late afternoon and I turned him away, explaining service had been cancelled. He said that the woman that manages the area for truegreen told him to come out to our house to see what the problem was.On another note, he had shown up in a pick-up, not a truck geared for spraying. He said to us that upon pulling up to our house that he noticed all the weeds and that if he had been the one that did the original spray that the weeds would have been taken care of. So in essence we paid $70 for nothing.

I started service in May/June of this year. They are scheduled to come out once a month to perform a service on my lawn and will be aerating in fall. When my service began, I was getting phone calls approximately 5 times every other day from the company attempting to set up my lawn service appointment. As I was not home, I was not answering the calls. When I would call back I would get ahold of someone, set up the appointment and would still receive calls multiple times a few days later. When I finally asked a rep what was going on, I was told it was because my service agreement piece of paper had not been signed and sent in yet. Per MN rules they must call and verify an appointment prior to sending someone out. I had believed my setting up a direct withdrawl account would allow them to come out. As soon as they recieved this documentation, the calls decreased and I recieve one call. As of July I would have told you this service was terrible. I had 3 visits out to my lawn, had never seen a technician (although I did have paperwork in my door) and my lawn was the worst it had looked in the past 4 years. I had called their phone number for input and on the same day recieved a evaluation form via email. I voiced complaints on both. 3 days later someone had been out to my yard and done a quality control check, validated my concerns on the weeds in my yard and had scheduled an extra appointment (free of charge). My lawn has greatly improved, but is still not to where I had hoped. As a newer home owner, I will admit, I am not sure how much of a turn around I should be expecting over one summer. Since I have sent off the evaluation, I get improved communication from my technician regarding what to expect from the treatments i.e. how long it will be before I can expect results, and little tips on how to continue to improve my lawn. Everyone of the people I have spoken with on the phone have been very polite and responsive. I have not had any issues with customer service in that regards. As of now, I am not sure that I would continue their service for next year. I will continue to shop around.

This years service was horrible. I scheduled service in February for the season, total of 5 treatments. Come May, I never saw any service. I called 3 different times in May and June asking when my service would happen. Each time someone told me that a service would be scheduled soon. Finally some one showed up June 28 for the first time. I asked to have a manager call me 4 different times over the course of 4 days. Each time I was told that I would get a call within 24 hours. This never happened. Called my service rep, he said that he would have a manager call me. That never happened. I cancelled my service due to this extremely poor customer service.

first year all that went wrong was they forgot to provide seed when aerating lawn, talk to manager, was told they would bring out when we signed up for next year - wait I already paid for, why do i have to wait...... the next year i signed up and paid for the full year. after the second time they were here they sent me a bill for that application - i called, they said they fixed it... It got a late notice the next month - had to call past the local office to get corrected. service then got unpredictable, they quit letting me know when they were coming - etc. and service was poor quaility - decided not to renew for this year - and by the way, I never got the seed i paid for This year I cant get them to quit calling, I asked after being polite to be removed from the call list continued to get calls, called ofice and was told I was taken off the list. the next week they started calling again - then a nice your lady told me that I was taken off the local list but not the state list and she said she would take care of it . The next week I got another call - I'm pretty sure that poor guy is not very happy with me............. and but the way - I can see by where the lines of dandelines are in my lawn this year where they missed

The initial contact was fine. After the initial application of weed killer, my lawn looked good about a week later. The workers that came to our house to do the treatments were always polite and professional. Overall, my lawn looks exactly the same as when I have attempted to take care of the weeding and fertilizer for the three years prior to hiring TruGreen. I would say that for the money, it's probably not worth it, because it is cheaper to do it yourself--especially when the results are not any better than what I was able to achieve myself. My biggest problem with TruGreen is the constant phone calls trying to sell me other services. Insulation, tree care, insect control, etc. It seems like they call constantly. For this reason more than any other I will not renew my contract with them.

I would rate the service a B. Overall they kept the dandylions from popping up but I still got crab grass.
