Description of Work: First visit ($100) was for on-site consulting. Faith Appelquist, founder and president of Picturesque Landscape Solutions, conducted a non-invasive examination of six trees that were of concern to us and gave a verbal assessment of their health. During a yard walk-around, she provided many valuable comments about some of our other trees and what the bark pattern and structure of trees reveals about their condition. She also gave some landscape ideas, mentioning species that would be appropriate for the light available. As a result of her information, we decided to have her further assess two large oak trees near the house. This in-depth risk assessment ($200) included drilling very small holes to detect decay, digging around the trunk to examine the root collar, evaluation of the site environment, etc. The work was done by Faith with assistance from an associate of hers who also had expertise in the field. Faith then prepared a detailed Tree Risk Assessment Report for each tree and sent it to us within a week. It included risk ratings, areas of concern, recommendations, and photographs taken during the examination to further illustrate the issues.

Description of Work: We have used Faith for several projects over the years. Some examples of her work with us have included a very detailed and professional plan to improve our landscape and extensive help managing our trees. The landscape plan included our ideas and preferences with her extensive knowledge of native plants and groupings to make the most of our yard-a very artistic approach. In addition to this service she has used her extremely technical and professional training and certification to outline a tree maintenance program-very scientific. This survey of the species in our yard and detailed pruning and removal plans far exceeded my expectations. I had no idea how much goes into the thoughtful pruning of a tree and Faith really knows her stuff. Faith is able to blend the art and science of landscaping seamlessly to provide a great combination of services.
