We had a somewhat challenging interior painting job involving the main floor living area and a downstairs bathroom. Stripping the old wallpaper revealed some messy old plaster walls requiring mudding, patching and sanding - all before seal primer could be applied. Tom handled every surprise he encountered. Brush or spray; Tom can handle it. He is fast and organized; you can tell he really knows his way around a painting job. And Tom is conscientious about keeping the job site neat. We're definitely happy with the results and would absolutely recommend Tom without hesitation.
Description of Work: Patched, mudded, and oil-primed walls and ceilings; spray-painted fireplace surround; Applied two coats of finish paint to complete the job.
Exterior: The previous owners hadn't had the home painted in over 30 years, so Tom had his work cut out for him. He ground down the exterior to the original wood, primed and painted two coats (and used some ingenious compound on a spot where a woodpecker had gone to town!). He also helped with color selection, which was a godsend, as though I have strong opinions, I'm sometimes at a loss as to a starting point. He takes my wrinkled nose and vigorous head shakes in stride when I don't like a recommendation. He also commissioned someone to bolster our pillars so they didn't look so small in comparison to the rest of the house. Bathrooms: Tom wallpapered the guest bath with ridiculous precision. It's literally my favorite room in the house. So beautiful. He also helped pick the color and painted the master bath and kids' bath, as well as all of the trim. The man is a machine when it comes to trim. My husband fancies himself a good painter because he did it for a summer in college. He cannot hold a candle to Tom. I don't know what or how he does it, but it's always perfect. Tom also did the trim in our master bedroom, since it was an odd shade, so it flowed with the new master bath. Kitchen: Tom scraped our ceiling and repainted it and then painted the kitchen, as well as all trim. The ceiling had some staining from the upstairs, kids' bath, which had leaked during the previous owners' tenure. It's all gone now and looks incredible. And it doesn't have that weird texturizing. Dining/Living Room: Tom painted and installed all of our baseboard after the installation of our hardwood floors. He's unbelievable at trim. And thank goodness, because I'm terrible at it! Son's room: Now, when I say that Tom painted this room, it's not that simple. We removed the wallpaper years ago when we moved in and just left it looking like a bomb had gone off, marking up the walls, windows blown out. Ok, that didn't' happen. But it was reminiscent of a set for a war film. The walls were in TERRIBLE shape under the wallpaper - I'm not entirely sure WHAT the previous owner did to make the walls so marred and horrible, but Tom spent a couple of days making a beautiful, perfectly smooth surface. Then, he did his magic with the trim and walls. He even painted the closet. It's awesome. And, he helped me pick out the color in that room as well, since we all know by this point, I struggle with that.
Description of Work: What hasn't Tom done for us? Tom's first project at our house was completely redoing the exterior of our house (~3 years ago), which was in terrible shape. The next project was painting/wallpapering all of our newly remodeled bathrooms (~2 years ago). Then, a short while later we hired him to remove the wallpaper in the kitchen, which he then painted. After having hardwood floors installed, Tom painted and reinstalled our baseboards. Most recently, he painted our son's room (~3 weeks ago). Next, he's slated to do the trim in our guest room and then he'll be painting our porch, which is quite literally the only spot in our home that's untouched by Tom.

I liked the way he was going to do it and was much better priced than others. He was neat, clean, and did the job when he said he would.
Description of Work: Power washed and scraped my siding. He then repainted the siding with 1 coat of primer and 2 coats of finish coat with a paint brush and roller.
