Description of Work: They put a sunroom on my house. It’s like a giant cooler with windows, its styro-phome and roofing. They were supposed to put on solar panels and the roof, but they didn’t do the solar panels and they installed the wrong roof. They didn’t do a good job and I wouldn’t use them again.

We had an awful experience with TEMO from start to finish, and we may report them to the MN Department of Labor and Industry. Please do yourself a favor and don't go near them with a 10 foot pole. There was one problem after another: - After having signed a contract with them, we were given very few roofing options to choose from by their sales representative, who assured us those were the only options. After it was too late, we discovered from his supervisor that there were actually far more options available to us. - The roofers failed to caulk in a certain area at the edge, resulting in a roof leak. - We kept having to call them to ask them to finish the projects, and they were very unresponsive, and often didn't show up for weeks. - We had a verbal agreement with them regarding one aspect of the project that they later refused to fulfill, in spite of us having talked and emailed about it multiple times. When we said that we wouldn't give them the remaining insurance money because of this, they threatened to issue a lien against the house. We figured it wasn't worth our time or energy to fight, so we gave in. - Their boss, Bob Jr., was shockingly unprofessional, aggressive, argumentative, and verbally abusive, and I'm honestly not exaggerating.
Description of Work: As part of an insurance claim for hail damage, TEMO replaced our roof, siding, and gutters.

TEMO was chosen because of the quality of the product and the lifetime warranty. Bob Maietta was more than helpful on the showroom floor in showing us our options and helping decide what features we would need for our new room. He told us that most of his jobs take about 4-6 weeks for completion. TEMO requires 1/4 of cost down at contract signing, 1/2 more when the job begins (about one week later) and the final 1/4 upon "significant completion" of the job. After signing the contract and showing up a week later, they had collected 3/4 of the cash due them. Work was slow and spotty all summer long. Seems there was always some missing part they were waiting for, or the inspectors were taking too long, or it had just rained, etc. Our approximate completion time was 14 weeks, after being told 4-6 weeks. While TEMO folks were not hard to reach on the phone, once you got them on the phone, they just told you someone would be out "very soon" and then nobody showed up as expected. In addition, they sent the invoice for the final 1/4 before the room was anywhere near completion ... and Bob himself came over demanding that final payment before the electric had been turned on or the ceiling fixtures installed. He actually yelled at my mother, who told him we would pay him the very moment our room was completed but not one day sooner. He stormed out of the house and it was another three business days before the work was completed. Bob's actions are the reason I scored them so low in the professionalism category. The rest of the group was not hard to work with, and the men who did the actual construction work seemed very professional and thorough when they did finally arrive. We will never use them again and hope that if we do need help with anything under warranty, that we can deal with someone other than Bob.
Description of Work: Install a brand new 3-1/2 season TEMO sunroom onto the side of our house. Extend our existing deck to reach to the sunroom's sliding glass door. Knock out kitchen wall for sunroom entrance. Clean up site.

Visited showroom and TEMO showed us what they would build for us. They had the stamped concrete put in and then the sunroom build over the winter. In order for the current product to meet code it needs a step from the sunroom that is part of the stamped concrete they put in. Owner refuses to complete product to code and what would be a nice looking product--stamped concrete step as part of the concretet put in by them. Contractor has never even been out to the site to see the unfinished product (concrete portion is not finished).
Description of Work: Contracted for Sunroom and stamped concrete. Current product does not meet code as company refuses to put in step that is part of stamped concrete.

TEMO had set us up with a design plan to renovate our summer porch and turn it into a space that we could use all year round. They gave us an estimate and later a contract that included gable glass and a vaulted ceiling as well as a heated ceiling fan. They took 2 months after receiving a downpayment/project start payment of over 10,000.00 before they told us that the gable glass/vaulted ceiling could not be completed. They misled us repeatedly throught the project. They completed half of what needed to be done and because of consistent neglect with returning phone calls, answering calls, elimination of any wordspeak whatsoever, we were forced to settle in arbitration through the American Arbitration Association. This is one company that people need to be warned about doing business with. Besides misleading us on the gable glass, vaulted ceiling there were numerous mistakes that were made on proposals, contracts, design plans, invoicing, all of which were corrected. However, the number of "innocent" errors couldn't be outdone by the number of ways TEMO has contributed to the old stereotypes of contractors and construction companies.
Description of Work: TEMO was supposed to give us a porch we could live in all year round by replacing our storm windows on a current summer porch with insulated wall/window combination. They were also supposed to vault our ceiling and install gable glass.

Excellent. The crew chief Luis made sure that we were happy with the work and even asked me to inspect the work as it was being done. I did get on the roof....I used to roof myself (I'm to old for that now). The tear off was done in two hours and they proceeded to lay down the snow guard and tar paper rolls. The roof was completed by 4 PM the same day! Just a wonderful job!
Description of Work: Tore off original roofing shingles and venting. Replaced shingles with 30 year GAF shingles and installed new ridge venting . Also inspected roof deck to make sure the plywood was in good shape. Roof and garage are approximately 23 squares.

Work was originally done in 2004, and all went well (Temo was chosen for its product quality and it offered a lifetime warranty). In 2005, the aluminum wrapped corner posts began to blister (small holes began to open in the aluminum). Temo was contacted (Bob Maietta), and stated the replacement posts (the posts they installed) were treated with a chemical that caused the aluminum to decay. Bob stated they can fix the problem by placing a barrier between the wood and aluminum, and completed the repair. In 2007, the aluminum again began to decay. In October 2007, I began to leave Bob messages (8 messages in 2 months) describing the recurring problem. Without any response, I sent a certified letter March 21, 2008 stating the problem, and asked for some sort of response as the product has a lifetime warranty. The same day, Bob emails me stating the problem is "not any manufacturers defect or a workmanship issue," and further states, "Minnesota code is responsible for the problem" because they required the replacement posts be treated with copper sulfate. He goes on to say, however, he will have an employee out within a few weeks to take a look at it. On June 12, 2008 I email Bob asking if he still planned on having staff look at the posts, he responds he would send someone within 30 days. On September 13, 2008, I again email Bob asking if something could be done before winter. On September 23, 2008, I leave another voicemail. On September 29, 2008, Bob answers his phone, and states he has a "production meeting" the next day, and will get me some help "to get it cleaned up." On October 13, 2008, I email Bob, citing Temo's lack of response, and asked for some communication by October 20, 2008. No response to date. It's been over a year since the problem resurfaced, and I can only assume he has written this one off. I will be getting bids from reputable vendors to fix/repair the aluminum wrapped posts, and am through dealing with Temo!
Description of Work: Demo existing 8' x 12' porch (three walls), and haul debris. Replace two wooden corner posts (aluminum wrap), and install "Temo" wall system.

Brian Simmons the designer/sales/project manager was great to work with on the replacement of our roof and siding. They did all the work with the insurance company and saved us a tremendous amount of time and stress. I would highly recommend them, as a matter of fact 2 days after the roof was replaced we had another hail storm. Brian and 3 other people from TEMO came out to make sure everything was okay with the roof and siding.
Description of Work: Replaced roof and siding as a result of hail damage.
