See above. The salesperson had to re-schedule. (It happens). He was late for the 2nd appt. (It happens). The estimate which was supposed to take about 1 week took 3.

Everything was great. Company was punctual and individuals worked hard. Job was finished in a timely fashion. Construction work was done very well.

Overall, the job was well done. In addition to the garage, we asked Sussel to help us with some inside electric work. All work was done well. Our only problem was with some areas where caulk was missed by the siding crew and they came back to fix it promptly.

As part of the project Sussel was to upgrade the existing wall between the garage and home to a code rated firewall. In 2009, a home inspection revealed that this firewall had not been completed correctly. After contacting Sussel the original project manager came out and inspected the wall then called back a few days later. He acknowledged that firewall was not built to code but Instead of correcting the problem he chose to lie and claim that Sussel had not installed the drywall and refused to complete the work. Overall quality of materials was not very high, workmanship was questionable and dishonest employees lead me to conclude that Sussel is not a company that should be considered for any construction project.

We are very happy with not only the results but also with how we were kept in the loop each step of the way. We were surprised by the number of people (mail carrier, UPS driver, neighbors, city inspector, etc.) that commented on how great the garage looks, especially the brick work.

Good quality for the price. Lynn was a great PM on the project, and pushed everything along professionally. Communication was good. When there was a problem, the issue was quickly addressed and resolved. They even went the extra mile on a few things, which was super! For example, they built up the gravel grade on the driveway to meet the apron, and then they showed up to seal our rock facing architectural block! Very nice :)

We're very happy with the job that Sussel did. All of the work was done in a very timely manner, and they adjusted the construction schedule to meet ours. The quote that Sussel gives is all-inclusive and precise. There were no added costs whatsoever, and they never tried to upsell us at all. Dennis, the salesperson, and Lee, the project manager were a pleasure to work with. Whenever any issue came up, it took just one phone call to straighten things out. Sussel seems to be a very well-run company that is straight with its customers, and goes about their business with pride and integrity. I didn't realize there were still companies like that around. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

It was excellent. They were quite good. They were very responsive. They started within two weeks of the estimate. They said they would be done by the sixteenth which they were. They were good. I was impressed and would recommend them.

A single employee did all of the construction work and he did an amazing job. I love my new garage and it is all because of Sussel.

We went into this construction with little to no preparation. All we knew was that we wanted a two car garage and to convert our dilapidated breezeway into an actual insulated room with solid walls. Mike Russell came out to give us an initial consultation and bid. He explained the construction process and all the elements involved. He also drew up an initial design plan based on our needs and wants. We later worked separately with an architect to help flesh the design out. Mike did not give us the hard sell, but followed up on numerous occasions to see if we had additional questions. We later received 3 other bids for the job, two were much higher, and one a bit lower. Mike's bid came in just right - in terms of cost and what he was offering. Bob was assigned as our construction coordinator. He handled the whole process from there out. He translated our architect's plans into working plans, coordinated all the subcontractors, as well as worked on some of the construction himself. Bob was our level-headed point person when we were overwhelmed by everything going on around us. He was always available to answer our multitude of questions and concerns - even the seemingly stupid ones. He never had a problem with change orders that came up - and he was always willing to work with what we wanted. Bob's communication with us was superb, as he would give us daily updates (sometimes several updates a day). As with any construction project, a few glitches appeared along the way, but Bob always managed to sort things out and keep my anxiety level down. We signed the contract in October, construction started in late November and was completed in April. The length of the project was mainly because of winter and the need to delay exterior concrete work. We are very pleased with the outcome of the project. The people at Sussel, as well as their subcontractors, could not have been more professional.

Great job! Not only did they build what we expected in a quick timeframe, they also had to modify a fence, and did so wonderfully. They were on time, showed up when expected, and got the job done in the time allotted. They were very responsive to any issues that arose.

The demo subcontractor pulled down the garage and the driveway without touching the neighbor's fence-very skilled with the bobcat. Concrete flatwork was great-finishing very good and sloped in the right direction without birdbaths. Brickwork was excellent and matched the house very well. Lumber used in the interior framing was a little rough, and cleanup took about three weeks too long. Sussel's project manager communicated well and was very organized. We received return phone calls within 24-48 hours most times. We had two changes during construction (extra windows and wider pull-down stairs), and were given a fair price. This contractor specializes in free-standing garages and knows what it is doing.

I contacted this company to remove an older single car garage and replace it with a new 2 car garage. Mike Russell came to my house as scheduled. He was extremely knowledgeable, had sound recommendations and it was obvious he was experienced in this type of project. He provided a comprehensive, written estimate. His price was approximately $2,300 higher than another company for the same project. Due to the cost, I ultimately decided not to replace the garage.

My experience with them has been great. They have been very responsive to everything. They are very easy to work with. With our experience so far I would recommend them.

The project turned out fine! They came and got the work done, and we're happy with the service. There are some problems, but they replaced the damaged parts promptly.

Sussel removed our existing garage and replaced with a larger garage. The construction was always behind schedule and our contact person at Sussel did not keep us updated on the progress. Also, they did not tell us when someone would be working on the garage. For example, I woke one morning at 5:45 am (it was still dark) to find two strangers in my backyard. When I asked who they were - they had no identification that showed they were subcontractors with Sussel. Their pickup did not even have any identification. When I called Sussel that morning and told them about the event - the representative laugh at me and said - "Well we like to get an early start". He had no concerns that I was home alone (a female) with two strange men in my backyard! Our garage was built last fall - the concrete work was never completed to our satisfaction. The entry to the garage on the sidewalk does not drain and we had an ice jam at the door the entire winter. Sussel told us that it was not their problem and we just needed to fix the drainage in our yard. We never had any drainage problems with our old garage! Never any ice jams! Now the concrete floor in the garage is starting to crack. We have had two representatives from Sussel to our garage in the last two weeks to look at the problem. They tell us that their concrete warranty does not cover cracks. Give me a break - the concrete is not even a year old and it is cracking - and some of the cracks are now more than 4 feet in length. Sussel takes no responsibility for it. I feel that Sussel's representatives did not listen to me and have absolutely no intention of helping to solve this problem. I feel that Sussel has made no good faith effort to correct any problem with our garage. We would not hire this company again and I will not recommend them to anyone!

Dennis the sales representative meet with us a couple different times and very graciously work with us as we sorted through several builders we found on Angie's List. Dennis worked with us as we priced out the various aspects of the project and was happy to accommodate our desire to use a different contractor with the concrete and electrical work. Dennis was very patient and responsive to our extended bidding process and quickly returned our calls and inquiries regarding everything from siding options to tiny details that we were uncertain about. Once things got rolling things came together quickly. The demo guys took down our old garage and were very hard working and friendly. The framers were great and my brother-in-law who does highend remodelling work was very impressed. The roofers were effecient and thorough. The siding guys were great as well. We also had Sussel's siding guys install matching shutters to the front of our house.

It was a great experience. They were very good, cooperative workers who answered questions and calls. They cleaned up as they worked and also afterwards. All of the workers were professional.

The sales and build process went very well, overall. After procrastinating through the summer I made the decision to build late in the fall. Sussell provide prompt estimates, plans, and moved through the permit process quickly. The subs all did a great job and were informative and toughed it out through the cold and the snow. The job got done and I'm very happy with the decision and with Sussell. The concrete looks great, the carpenters did a very nice job, and the electrical is clean and well done. The garage door opener and accessories installed are top notch. The siding is the only area where there are any points to bring up, a few places where multiple nails missed studs and weren't dealt with and some spots where fit isn't perfect. Other than that the job met all my expectations.

I had a terrible experience with another well known builder and fired them at the start of demolition. The troubles I had put me over a month behind schedule. So when I contacted Sussle Builders who I had a previous estimate from, I was a very skeptical customer! From the first meeting to the completion of the project my expectations were met or exceeded! Mike, the Sales Rep. honored their previous estimate and was very helpful in fine tuning my needs for the project and getting it going. Lyn, who was the Project Manager kept me informed every step of the way of what to expect and when. He took my questions, concerns and phone calls with patience and professionalism. I either reached him right away or received a return call promptly. I was also impressed with all the different trades personnel that Sussle employed or contracted with! They were all experienced and knowledgable. They also spoke highly about Sussle. I was very satisfied with the service and product that Sussle provided!

Michel Russel did a great job going over the options and helping me finalize the design of the garage. He took the time to meet with my landscaper who was doing the excavation work in prep for the garage. The work progressed on schedule and my coordinator Lee kept me up to date on the details. This is the second garage that I've had Sussel build for me and I highly recommend them.

Mike returned calls for an estimate quickly, walked my wife through the whole bid and provided an estimate immediately (he had the necessary reference material with him). We updated the job requirements multiple times before committing, and he was responsive and willing to work with us. After the job was handed off, the work was done promptly. My only complaint overall was a lack of communication from the company about when a given part of the job would be started.

The salesman was friendly; he took his own measurements and offered different options some of which worked well for us. He did mis measure the eave overhang which then prevented us from hanging a light fixture under the eave as we had intended. He also did not notice that when our cracked/sunk driveway would be replaced that there would be a 6 inch step created next to our neighbor's drive (the drives abut each other). The project, overall, went well, and I would hire them again, but I would double check their measurements and work. There were a few problems as the project progressed, but John returned my calls the same day and would get someone out in a timely fashion to deal with my issues. The concrete guys, carpenters and electrician were very good to work with and seemed to care about the end result. The concrete guy even spent some time talking w/my neighbor about how to resolve the driveway problem. The siders did a quick job (rate at a D) but their errors were repaired.
