Luckily for me, and thanks to their expertise, they deduced that the problem was not with the trap, but farther down the line. They cleared the line, replaced the cap on the drum trap, and tested to make sure the line was unclogged. They also recommended a
product I could get to keep the pipe clear of organic material (hair primarily) without damaging the pipes.
They were diligent about laying down floor mats and keeping the house clean. They were also friendly, courteous, and punctual.
I gave the price tag a B because it was high for a drain cleaning, but that's the plumbing industry for you. All in all I was still impressed.
It was determined it wasn't repairable so it was necessary for us to
pick out another faucet. This was done (ordered through plumbing
supplier) and Phil returned with the faucet on 12-12-2012 and completed
the installation. He was on time, very professional and we are very
satisfied with the new faucet.
They were prompt enough- they were delayed but called to let me know. Phil did most of the work, he was polite, explained things well and was very careful about keeping the floors clean. He did a very good job of cleaning up.
"Apparently I failed to explain the repair we were making to the customer's home. The existing spigot had frozen and split. I replaced it with a Woodford spigot that was longer, so we had to adjust the pipe inside the home. (Woodford frost proof spigots are a high quality product) The existing spigot was to short in lenghth for this aplication, the longer faucet will reach farther into the heated basement. The pipe height was adjusted so the new spigot will drain better, and not freeze again. I showed the broken spigot to, but I should have explained more clearly what the piece was I was showing her. I have responded to her email and will follow up with her this comming week. Our company offers upfront pricing for this type of repair, so I am suprised she thought she was "ripped off". I stand behind our work and will do my best to make this customer feel more at ease with choosing my company to work on her home. Dave / St Paul Pipeworks"
