+ 2 moreI am disabled and have memory problems as well as blackouts which he asked about and took advantage of that. He insisted that I only use him for the work and had me tell insurance company to call him directly. He had me sign something one day and I didn't remember until days later. He had the storm damage contract with my "estimate" scribbled on the side of the same paper, but they were two different issues. When I found it and asked him about it he started yelling at me telling me that I don't know how to run a business and that is how its done. He took all of the insurance money, almost $26,000, did the roof and wouldn't finish the work. He took $9,577 from insurance money and had me buy a cheaper door, which I just discovered. He still refuses to finish my house even after I gave him money for windows, he went cheaper again and put in inserts instead, So 3 years later Shane has almost $36,000 and refuses to finish the work. But now he is trying to con me into giving him thousands more and then he might finish. This has been a nightmare for me and my family! I was suppose to sell my house, but can't and now if the prices fall, I will be in a really be in a really bad spot. What kind of person scams a disabled woman out of her money and keep part of the insurance money to buy cheaper parts and have me buy them, when insurance already paid for. Have mercy on his soul

My insurance company has been very difficult and did everything in their power to deny my claims. Signature Home Services could have easily walked away, but the did not. + 3 moreSignature Home Services is a competent business with good values that takes care of their customers. They have made many improvements to our home over the years. We had them install a new roof and siding and they worked closely with our insurance company so we didn't have to. We also had them install new windows throughout our home, replacing some with much larger picture windows. They worked closely with us by really listening to what we wanted and making recommendations to make sure we would love the end result. We also had them install new covered gutters on our home. They are very responsive both during the job and afterward. They charge a fair price and they stand behind their work. As with any big job, sometimes we had questions. Any concerns that we had were promptly taken care of and we are highly satisfied.

They cleaned up very well, and I was impressed with the work. It's been over six months and the work is still great. Shane was great to work with. He is very responsive and helpful. He is also just a really nice guy.

They were on time when they came to give me an estimate which was very important to me as I have dealt with other companies that either call and make up excuses for being late, or just don't show or call. They were helpful with all the questions I had and returned my calls promptly. They worked with me to schedule a day that was convenient for me. They were here the day we scheduled and did the work and cleaned everything up when they left. They were careful around all my plants as well. I am very pleased with the work that they did. I would highly recommend them.

+ -1 moreThe repair looks great and the siding matches exactly. We were so impressed that Signature Home Services repaired this for us free of charge . . . which would have normally cost $300. They are a great company and we have always enjoyed working with them. When they originally installed the siding and roof, they met with us many times and helped us choose colors and accessories (such as shutters and gable treatments) for our home. They were a partner and did a fantastic job.
Description of Work: Signature Home Services originally installed all new siding and new roof for us many years ago, and last spring, repaired a portion of our siding that had been damaged by one of our son's using his grill too close to the house. Signature Home Services was so kind and repaired the siding for free. Their installer was professional and we enjoyed talking to him before and after the repair.

+ 1 morePlease see above. What they did is go above and beyond on every job we have had them do and with extrem professionalism and extremely fair value.
Description of Work: There was a hail storm in our neigbor hood but to me the hail was barely pea size and I was even thinking damge. A couple days later a repsresenative from signature was at our home to ask if they could check our roof for hail damage. Upon the inspection they said there was significant damage to warrant a new roof. Our insurance company sent out a claims rep to inspect the roof. The claims rep said that they were going to deny the claim. Signature then connectted with our agency and discussed thier differenc ein findings and a couple weeks later we were sitting at our kitchen table looking at roofing samples. The work was completed on the scheduled date and cleaned up as if nothing ever happened. Because of this experience 2 years later when we needed new windows after 17 years, the same represenative came to our home spent several hours two different evenings walking us through our options and making suggestions to what we wanted to what really would work. Couldnt be more pleased with the Grandura windows and sliding glass doors we had installed. All during the years since we have been able to contact Shane Paulson with any questions or concerns and he promptly returns calls every time and has made several personal stops to our home to discuss our questions. Recently we had wind damage to our siding and needed several areas replaced. You can guess who I called without hesitation. Signature once again did not disappoint. They even went to the lenghts of tracking down the builder and subcontractor records of who built our home 20 years ago to get the reord number and vendor of the siding to determine the color so they could get the closest match to ours which of course was faded. If you didnt know where they put the new siding no way you could ever tell. I would without hesitation reccomend Signature Home Srvices and Shane Paulson for any window, roofing,siding or other services they offer. You can also check thier website for a posting of a personal letter I wrote to the owner of the companyafter the first job they did for our roof 4 years ago.

+ -1 moreShane arrived promptly for our consultation and showed me all the options for our roof, explaining the different grades of shingles, etc. He brought color samples along to show me. We also discussed whether or not it was necessary to install venting in the garage since we had finished the interior. I felt comfortable making the decisions without my husband present. The only thing that was strange in the process is that we were not notified about when the work would start. One day the materials arrived. I sent an email asking when work would begin, but before I received a response, I could hear the workers walking around on the roof the next morning! It all turned out fine, and they apologized for letting that slip through the cracks. The crew was FAST. They began around 7 am, and when I arrived back home around 1:30, they were done and finishing the cleanup! We have had no issues with the roof since it was installed 9 months ago, and it looks great. There was no debris left around the site. If you had left early for work and arrived home at the normal time, you might not have even noticed they'd been there! I would call Signature again.

+ 0 moreThe representative from Signature Home Services showed up very quickly after the storm. A contract was provided which specified roof and siding damage, but no details were provided prior to expiraiton of the 3 day waiting period. It was later determined that the vinyl siding would all need to be replaced due to fading and the inability to repair the damage, even though there was only one hole in the siding on the entire house. We decided that we would like to change to fiber cement siding instead of replacing the existing vinyl siding. Signature Home Services did not appear to be providing fiber cement siding installation at that time. They refused to let us out of the contract. Their estimate for the fiber cement siding was VERY high. We asked to see an example of their work and they directed us to their new office site (an old house in St. Paul) that they had sided. The workmanship was horrible. We opted to have another company replace or vinyl siding with fiber cement. Signature still would not let us out of the contract and we ended up having to pay them even though they never did the work and also for legal services. The roof was replaced by Signature and the workmanship was poor. There are visible ridges in the roof, the rain gutter guards were damaged during the roof installation and the existing drip edge was damaged as was some of the siding. They were very slow and unprofessional about correcting these problems. In estimating the job, excessive amounts of materials were ordered. The siding was over estimated by about 50%. This is a rip-off of the insurance companies and ultimately the home owner. I would NOT recommend using Signature Home Services. Their initial introduction was good but they were unprofessional and unethical once they knew a contract was signed. Overall, I would describe the experience as a nightmare. These guys are crooks.
Description of Work: Work was done to repair damage from a storm including large hail. The roof was replaced. There was also damage to the siding, rain gutters and garage doors.

We did numerous major repairs to our home this past spring and summer and by far replacing our roof was the least painful. Workmanship was great. Clean up was perfect. Team show up at 7:00 in the morning and worked until 7:00 at night job was completed. I would highly recommend and plan to use Signature Home in the future for all future projects that they cover.

+ -1 moreThey replaced the whole roof. It was fine; it wasn't what we initially called them for. We had a smaller roofing problem to fix; the fascia and the soffit. They came and they said we had hale damage on the roof, so they replaced the whole roof. But the actual thing that we called them for, they didn't fix. They gave us a very high bid so we decided not to get it fixed with them. But they did the whole roof and filed it to the insurance company for the hale damage. They did a good job and they were good.
Description of Work: We got a roof sometime last summer, maybe August.

+ 0 moreMy initial call was not returned. My second call did bring out a representative. He walked around the house. He gave me a preliminary estimate based on replacing a square of shingles. There are no shingles on the section of roof involved. I was told that I would receive an estimate. It has been 3 weeks and no estimate. I have no problem with other Angies list providers who did not care to quote on jobs. They told me so up front. I expected more from a company who's first question was "How did you hear about us."
Description of Work: I requested an estimate for gutters, attic insulation and a roof vent.

+ -1 moreRyan Miller arrived right on time. He explained the process to me - what he was going to look for. He invited me to join him on the roof but I declined. He had his digital camera to capture any damage he found so he could show it to me. Luckily everything checked out ok and no repairs are needed. He also gave me a 4 page handout about storm/hail damage that was very informative. I would not hesitate to contact this company in the future.
Description of Work: There was a hail storm in the neighborhood and this company called asking if I wanted my roof checked out. I was a little leery having a company that contacted me by phone come, but then I saw they were on Angie's list so I told them to send a guy over.

+ -1 moreI called them to come and bid on fixing my porch roof. They sent a guy who thought he was going to do an energy audit! I told him I needed work on a leaky roof, so he took measurements and said he'd get right back to me. I never heard from him. I called back and found out that the guy had quit the company, so they sent someone else out after a few scheduling misfires on their part. It turned out after all this that they didn't do flat roofs. (I had told them on the first call it was a flat roof, and the guy who came out to measure SAW the roof and didn't say anything.) It was a lot of foolishness for no result. Then, after they couldn't help me, they had the nerve to try and sell me an energy audit! If you use these guys... be hyper-vigilant.

+ -1 moreThe sales person who came to give the quote was really nice, very easy to work with and very friendly. They got me the quote pretty quick and were very honest. They quoted me less and told me if they have to do any extra work, the price would be more. They did the work very quickly. There were no hidden cost and everything went very well. The clean up was also good. There were some problems after the project and they took care of it quickly.
