ROSE PLUMBING

After closing out water main valves (both city and our side) in April to replace our kitchen sink, pressure did not return to pre-turnoff levels. I'm afraid to force it open more for fear of flooding the basement. Called Rose after seeing good reviews in Consumer Checkbook, on a Friday afternoon, and he seemed a standup, competent plumber, was quoted $400 for the work, and to call back Monday to schedule visit (no charge) and set up city water turn off etc. Called Monday, and my stutter interfered with my conversation, but I eventually got out who I was (he remembered from previous Friday) but was told to call someone else, as I was now magically outside his service area. He didn't want to deal with me because of my stutter; if you have such a challenge, call someone else.

They arrived promptly and got to work. Repair was done well and did not leak. They splashed dirty water on the wall behind where they were working . I don't know how that happened and they did not clean it up, but I cleaned it up quickly with some paper towels, so a minor issue.

Rose Plumbing just came to give me a quote on installing a new water heater and I am in shock. First, they wore no masks despite COVID-19, and the older gentleman was clearly agitated by either his last job or what he saw at my house (evidently the last plumber didn't correct some code issues). Instead of patiently explaining to me what was wrong and what could be done to fix it, he cussed out the last plumber (foul language at volume with my daughter wide-eyed in the next room) and told me to call them instead. The whole interchange probably lasted less than a minute and they were out of the house before I could even walk them upstairs to the door. The younger gentleman at least seemed apologetic. That's why they get a D from me and not an F. If you don't want to bid on fixing the issue and installing a new unit, fine, but that behavior is just unacceptable and unprofessional.

I called Rose Plumbing to replace a 1-inch ball valve and disconnect a water softener. When Greg arrived, he could not be bothered to remove the toothpicks from his mouth when talking to me. Unprofessional does not even begin to describe this individual. He examined the plumbing and advised it would be $500. He could not tell me how much was dedicated to either or my issues, or the reason for the cost. When I asked for a written bid, he told me to call a company such as Mpls-St. Paul Plumbing. Apparently this is too much to ask. In any case, I followed his recommendation and the next day both of my concerns were taken care of for $125. Greg told me that he has 120 customers in Roseville. Apparently he has 120 customers in Roseville who he rips off royally!

Both instances they arrived at the promised time, made the repairs quickly and cleaned up after themselves when finished.

They came out a week before another company to do the work. He said he could not reach the place underneath my sink where the water line was and would not try. He was very negative in his approach. He complained about the distant he had to travel from Roseville to my home. I was not pleased and will not call them again. They said it was possible to move all my pipes out to reach it and they would have been very expensive.

Arrived on time only to find out that the city workers arrived a half hour earlier than scheduled to shut off the water at the street. This did not give him the half hour of prep time that was arranged for by his request. This unexpected event was handled with professionalism and courtesy. He quickly replaced the valve in the house and sent the city workers on their way. He also replaced the ancient cement laundry tubs in our basement and put in a new fiberglass unit. We are very happy with the outcome. The price was reasonable and the workmanship superior. We have plans to hire him again to do additional work.

Im still a bit nervous but now have a plan for the next step.

CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH AMAZING THINGS ABOUT THIS COMPANY! We are at the end of an almost 8 wk kitchen renovation and was desperate to get a plumber out to hook up all our plumbing after our counters were in. Greg came same day and got everything done and only cost us $350!!! We will never use another plumber again. We have had so many people working on our house and couldn't believe how fair his pricing was and how quickly he could get out. So very much appreciated!!!

The cleaned the main line from the downstairs washroom to the main. It was a very good experience , I will use them again.

We asked Greg if at all possible to get old toilet, sink and vanity out first ASAP and than come back to finish rest of job at later date. He agreed and scheduled an appointment with us for afternoon the next day. He was very professional, efficient and left a clean work area.

The service was excellent. They were very professional. They told me exactly what they were going to do, and how much it would cost. I was very happy with them. I have had them come out before. I like their service.

Three separate visits from Denny at Rose Plumbing resulted in the above cost which was well worth it. I initially had a tub spout leak in my upstairs bathroom that resulted in damage to the ceiling in my downstairs half bath. Denny replaced the tub spout which also included replacing part of the copper piping to the spout (total cost $300). A couple of days later another serious leak in my upstairs shower faucet manifested itself and Denny returned to replace the faucet and the rest of the copper piping in my upstairs tub/shower combo (another $300). Finally, at my request he returned a third time and replaced and updated my main water shutoff valves to my townhome unit which was a repair that was sorely needed (the final $300). The last two visits to my home he brought along his assistant Jim. My townhome unit is 30 years old and it is not surprising that these sorts of problems will begin to crop up given the age of the building. I found both gentlemen to be professional and extremely knowledgeable. Denny said he's been in the business for over four decades and it showed. He and Jim worked quickly and efficiently with a minimum of disruption to my schedule. I could not be happier with the work that was done and trust that the repairs that were made will last for a long, long time. I was fortunate to have Denny the Master Plumber take care of all of the work even though he is partially retired, but I suspect that his partner is just as talented and that they hire very good people to do their work. I recommend Rose Plumbing without reservation. Well done.

I called Greg in the evening with the water emergency, he was there the next day doing the repair and saving the day as usual. Greg from Rose plumbing has been our regular plumber for over 10 years for our residence as well as several rentals. He has always been punctual, knowledgeable and best of all trustworthy. I never call any other plumber for any plumbing issues. Thank you Greg!

Our sump pump was running constantly with water coming back down the outlet pipe. Called Greg with Rose Plumbing and he came out the next day and found a defective check valve (supposed to prevent water from flowing back down). He replaced the valve, but we also had him put in a new pump because the old one was original--nearly 19 years old. New one runs much less often and quieter. Very prompt and professional service. Thanks much, Greg.

There are two men who do the work but Mr. Greg Searles is the one that I dealt with. They were excellent. They are very reliable and very nice people. Greg is a very good person. They are very professional, on time and did what they said they would do. They gave me an estimate and lived up to the estimate. It has been a very good experience.

The sump pump installation went smoothly. Greg was on time, and he was very informative about use and maintenance of the pump. Greg also worked on unclogging one of our toilet lines in early March. Last year, we replaced an old toilet with one of the newer low-water level ones, which apparently are code these days. Greg estimated it would cost $2500 to replace the line to allow for better drainage, and recommended we just keep having it unclogged due to the cost. The clog reappeared on April 1. Greg's partner came out to inspect. There was no offer of cleaning out the line again at a reduced charge or for free. He told us that the line is almost level, and that the newer toilets do not have enough water flow to keep the line open. He told us that replacing the line to give it more pitch would cost $1500, a difference in quotes of $1000. This partner promised they would call us on April 2 to schedule the work. When we got no call back, I talked with the partner on April 3. He said it would be at least a couple of weeks until he could do the work, and then said he has to get out of the business due to his physical limitations. I asked if he'd rather we call some other company, and he said yes.

The toilet is in a finished basement and was probably installed in the 1970s. The flush mechanism had failed and the shut-off valve wasn't working properly either. The major problem was the tight quarters: there was virtually no room to work behind the toilet, which had been squeezed into a bathroom (shower, cabinets, sink, commode) that was added when the basement was finished. We have had plumbing work done both on various fixtures and drains, as well as the main sewer line. We've had some unhappy experiences with franchise operations and wanted to find someone local. Rose Plumbing is in our community -- just a mile away, as it happens -- and they had received high marks on Angie's List. We are happy to add our endorsement. They took my call on Wednesday, offered to come the next afternoon or Friday morning, showed up at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, took one look at the toilet and said it had to go, offered to do the job and bill us for $450 for everything. Agreed and done that morning. Efficient, friendly, fair, and prompt. What more need we say?

My husband called first thing in the morning and said that the person he spoke with was very nice. They were able to get to us in the morning, even though it was the day after New Years and with temperatures so cold, many of the other plumbing services were booked up. Forty-five minutes after they were scheduled to arrive, I called and was told they were a half hour away. They arrived in less than a half hour. They came in and took took care of the problem within 15 minutes. We had a pipe that was frozen and burst. After fixing the pipe he went through the house getting the air out of the lines by flushing toilets and running taps. The only negative besides being late was that he walked through our house with snow on his shoes. Overall we were very happy with the work and would recommend them.

Excellent, as usual. Rose Plumbing has done work for us in the past. I did not do reviews then, but should have. Very punctual and polite; on time, courteous, etc. Sure did good work for us. No problems, at all. Would recommend.

My husband was going to fix the shower faucet because it was dripping. But ended snapping the single handle off. So called rose pumbling and was at house with in 2 hours. Denny took a look and new he had to knock a wall out somewere to put a shut-off valve in. i felt that he was not very sympathetic to our feeling about having to knock the wall out. Denny seem to be in a hurry to knock the wall out in doing so he ended up loosing wall tile that did not expect. Denny did pick up a new shower handle for us and put most of it in. We had to go buy new tile and figure out how to repair the wall damage our self, or pay additional $500.

Denny and Jim of Rose Plumbing did a great job of fixing a leaking toilet that involved tearing out a rotten flange and floorboard, patching in a new subfloor with plywood and installing a new flange, taking apart an old toilet and installing new parts so it could be reused and putting the tile back over it - finished result looked as if they hadn't even been there! Cheerful and friendly, but professional. These guys problem solved and know their stuff.

Greg is a skilled, honest and dependable plumber. On a repair call, once he knows what needs to be done, he will check with you before doing the work, and provide options if applicable. He is prompt and courteous.

Greg is a very skilled, honest and personable plumber. In the past we have used him when doing large scale renovations (kitchen and bath). We are currently trying to sell a property and needed several small repairs and updates to the plumbing after having renters for several years. He fixed taps that could be fixed, and replaced some for updates. He is prompt and courteous. Highly recommended.
