Holy cow! These guys were fast! I called, and 2 hours later they were here. They were recommended by another company whose steam machine had pooped out. They also diagnosed the main problem: the previous owner had managed to let 8 (!) tennis balls get lodged in the gutter, which blocked all water flow and created a massive ice dam. Their price was about $50 per hour more than their competitor who recommended us, but it was worth it since we were having water leaking out of the soffit. Very professional service and they also cleaned up very well after themselves. I am completely satisfied.

No problems with the physical party of the service, but they did neglect to include sales tax on the invoice and demanded payment later after the service had been performed. I reminded them that I did pay exactly what the invoice stated and the sales tax should have been included on the original estimate and agreed price.

The process went well with the exception of confusion over the price. I was quoted a "out the door" price inclusive of taxes and gave them half down on my credit card to schedule the job. When my card statement arrived I noticed that the two charges for roof to deck were more that what I thought I agreed to by $29.00. I asked for an explanation of why I was charged the extra $29 but never got a reply.

Scheduling is very easy, as they expect customers to have cleaning and staining done every two years. They are very professional, reasonable, and punctual. We have used them four or five times over the years. the only less than perfect experience was when they sent a new employee to our house. It was his first week, and his inexperience showed. However, the company sent him back to correct mistakes. He spilled quite a bit of stain onto the brick patio below the deck, but it eventually faded away. They also clean stain with an absorbent grit substance. Overall, very reliable and a company that provides high quality service.

The guy that came to my home and provided me a quote was terrible.. Once he sent me the quote via email it took him a week to respond to my questions and phone calls. I had to track him down SEVERAL times just to get answers! After much frustration I reluctantly agreed to have the work done and provided my credit card number to secure the service. A week later I had to track the guy down yet again to find out why nothing was scheduled and why I wasn't charged yet. I had enough and twice I requested for a manager/boss to call me. I'm still waiting for that call.. Finally I just canceled the whole thing.. Terrible experience! Don't be fooled by their deceptive statements, "Storage during the off season at our warehouse".. You are only renting the decorations! So of course they are going to store their property at their warehouse. .

I was told over the phone that they would be able to go over and do the pressure washing and that I didn't have to be there. I explained the outside water was not turned on, and that I would need to do that before they could do the pressure washing. He was supposed to call me when he was headed over there, but I have not heard anything.

A VERY professional job, done exactly as they said they would do, completed exactly when and as they said they would. They were excellent in customer service, showed the highest level of professionalism, and were outstanding in their desire to make sure that we, the customer, were completely informed and properly consulted when choices needed to be made, and were without doubt the best contractor we've ever worked with. A very rare and true pleasure to strongly endorse them to others. They responded to our first call within minutes and quickly made arrangements for an inspection and quote. They were on time for that appointment, did a very through inspection and consultation, actually showing us how they proposed to do the job, and then delivered a quote to us (electronically, as requested) in a very timely manner. We were provided educational and safety data materials as well as the written quote within a day. As much of their work depended on the weather, they kept in contact with us during the entire project. They were very exact in their appointments, worked diligently while they were here, and always kept us fully informed. We strongly recommend Roof-to-Deck and we would use them again without hesitation.
Description of Work: They cleaned, stripped, sanded, and in general rescued a 20+ year-old deck, and then stained and sealed the deck as well as the railings, supports and stairs. The deck had been originally stained (by the previous owners of the house) a deep, deep red that we thought was a permanent eyesore. We contacted Roof-to-Deck simply hoping to extend the life of this deck for a year or two, so that we could plan for a completely new deck -- which promised to be an expensive or even perhaps unaffordable project. Roof-to-Deck suggested a different approach of stripping the old color, some sanding and minor rehabilitation, and then staining and sealing the deck to an acceptable color. They surpassed all expectations many times over. We now have the deck we would have spent thousands to get. They willingly spent the extra time it took to get the old stain removed, sanded and re-nailed wherever necessary as well as cleaning the deck until it was nearly pristine. They took the time necessary to get it right, and then went a little beyond that point. They cared for our property as if it were their own. They then waited until the deck had dried out and carefully monitored it progress as it dried. Then, when conditions were appropriate, they came back in a applied the new stain and sealer.

The results were great, looks like new. This is not an easy job, they did it safely and with a great attitude from the day they came to give us an estimate to the day they finished the job. It is great to deal with companies that are so professional. It took a bit longer than expected and they rescheduled a couple of their visits. Other than that we were extremely satisfied. We are thinking about doing our Christmas lighting with them.

Overall it went well! I first contacted them in early May but didn't get the project done until late June because they have a long waiting list and the weather was crappy. We bought our house a year ago and the previous homeowners put some weird type of deck paint or something on the deck. It looked like crap and was peeling EVERYWHERE. Roof-to-Deck came out and stripped off the paint, power-washed the deck, and sanded down some of the surfaces. Then, about a week later, they came back and stained the deck. It looks MUCH better! Several of our neighbors have complimented it. That said, I had a bit of sticker-shock at the price (over $900!!). But, it was worth it to me to not have to deal with the deck. It was convenient, too, because they don't require you to be at home while they work. I just came home from work one day and my deck was done! I recommend this company and will consider them again in the future.

Our deck, which is an elevated 10ft by 20ft cedar and redwood deck with a stairway that goes to the ground level, was quite dirty, and there was a powdery black residue over the entire surfaces of all the wood. I believe the black residue was mildew, but my wife thinks it was just dirt and ash from a neighbor's fires in his back yard that adjoins our yard. In any case, the deck needed to be cleaned and sealed.I searched on Angies List and found Roof-to-Deck Restoration which as a $50 discount coupon. Because I trust Angies List, I contacted the company to see about scheduling them to come out for an estimate. Within just a few days, their Estimator came by and took some pictures of the deck, and also a couple of close-up pictures so they can see what condition the surface was in. WIthin a few days, I received a letter that details the type of work that will be done, and also the total cost. The quote was in the amount of $782.00. Because I had a coupon from Angies List, the cost would be $732.00. I discussed the cost with my wife, and we both agreed that the price was resonable for the amount of work that would be required. I called the company on June 1, 2012, and spoke with one of their phone order takers. Her name is Brittany (not sure about the spelling). Brittany told me that she will schedule the job, but they are about 4 weeks out, and is very dependent on the weather. I was hoping to get the deck started sooner than that, but I agreed to wait. Four weeks went by and I did not hear from the company, so I gave them a call to inquire when they might be coming out to clean and strip the deck. The person who I spoke with (I don't recall her name) was not able to locate my name or my quotation letter! I told her that I've been waiting a month, and my name was going to be put into their schedule. She had no clue about a schedule and she was not able to locate my name in their system (this is consistent with what another reviewer stated who had a similar experience). The gal just said Okay I put you in our system, and we will have a technician come out in a few days. There was no apology and no explanation as to why she was not able to find my information. Finally, on July 3, a technician named "TJ" came to my home to wash and strip the deck. While he was setting up his pressure washer and other equipment, I occasionally glanced out of my window to see what he was doing. At one point I noticed him spraying his pressure washer directly on some potted plants that my wife and I had sitting on the ground about 10 feet from the deck. It appeared as though he felt that they needed watering, and proceeded to go ahead and water them! I was about to go outside to confront him about it, but he then turned the pressure washer toward the deck and proceeded to wash the deck. My thought was he was there to clean our deck, not to water our plants. And I was concerned about any chemicals that might have been in his pressure washer that might damage our plants. Some of the plants were tomatos. I watched TJ some more, and he remained focused on cleaning the deck after that one incident. He appeared to do a good job because the deck looked very clean and "white" after all the moisture dried.About a week went by, and another technician came out to apply the stain/sealant. His guy was more professional that the first guy, and he did a good job. He even cleaned up any over-spills and splashes that got on the windows and siding. My wife and I were pleased with the overal finished look of the deck.
Description of Work: Our deck was serviced on two separate dates. On the first day, a technician washed and stripped the deck. On the second day (which was about a week later) another technician applied a stain/sealant to the deck.

We apologize for the scheduling mishap and thank you for prceeding with the project in spite of the long delay. Our technicians are thoroughly trained to pre-rinse and post-rinse any plants, siding, grass, etc. with straight water prior to using any chemicals and directly after, both to protect customer property and to aid in the clean up process. We are happy to hear that you were pleased with the results of the project, and thank you for taking the time to submit the review!

I will preface my story with a statement to say that I am not by nature a complainer, certainly not a chronic complainer, and often won't voice a complaint, even if I am not entirely happy with the situation. However, this time I did and here's why. I called Roof to Deck on May 4, 2012 for an estimate on stripping and staining our deck floor, as well as painting the deck rail and lattice below the deck. I also asked that 2 small benches and 4 pillars, which were just outside of our front door, be painted as well. I also requested an estimate on whole house power washing. I received an estimate within the week. I felt the estimate was agreeable and fair and was told I would be put on a waiting list to be scheduled. I did not hear from Roof to Deck again until I emailed them on June 19 (more than 6 weeks later), wondering why it was taking so long. With no note of apology or explanation regarding the delay (their reply after I asked: "I don't know how that happened"), they were out the next day to do the power washing of the house and deck. During this washing, a chemical was used for both the house washing and stripping process on the deck, and according to the information received from the company, this process "will not harm wood, grass, plants, or pets". Within a week after the washing, many of my landscape plant leaves and/or flowers were turning brown and suffering, with one sizable shrub completely dead. When I contacted the company regarding this, they agreed to replace the dead shrub (and did), with no apology other than again saying, "I don't know how that happened." On Tuesday, the day before the 4th of July holiday, two men came and worked on the painting portion of the job, and completed about 3/4 of the painting, with no work yet on the stain/seal portion of the job. We were told by the two men completing the job that they would return on Thursday, the day after the holiday. They did not return on Thursday or Friday or Monday. Monday afternoon I called the company to find out what the delay was, and was juggled by phone from one person to the next, suggesting that now we would need to be put on the scheduling waiting list once again. When I told them that we were in the middle of a job, they said that someone would call me right back after they figured out the situation. No one called back. On this same day, before the job was completed, I received an email invoice suggesting payment within 15 days. The following morning one of the previous workers showed up and completed the job, with no explanation and no knowledge of the reason of the delay. During this day, another man from the company came to our home to tell me that they would not be able to finish painting the benches and pillars outside of our front door due to regulations on treating previously painted surfaces with leaded paint. This was understandable, but it left me with one bench painted and one not, and partially painted pillars. He stated that he would adjust our invoice to reflect this change and would do it immediately upon returning to his office. We did not receive this invoice, and after waiting 3 days, I sent an email addressed to three different people at Roof to Deck, including billing, requesting it, along with a history of our entire experience with Roof to Deck stating our disappointment in the entire experience. Again I got no response from anyone. A week after the job was completed and running out of patience with Roof to Deck, I called the company and requested to speak to the CEO. He was supposedly out of the office, so I left a voice mail telling my experience with this job in a very brief version, and stated that I was not paying the remaining invoice, which still needed to be adjusted, until I heard from someone. The following day, another person who had not previously been involved in our job and who was not the CEO, came to our home to hand deliver the invoice. One would assume that an apology would accompany this visit with the invoice, but this person seemed to have no knowledge of our experience with this job and only after I explained some of my story to him, did he apologize in a somewhat brief and uncomfortable manner. Needless to say, this entire experience with Roof to Deck was a nightmare. This company seems to have huge communication issues, both with each other within the company and with customers. The people I dealt with seemed novice and untrained, and the workers completing the job operated on a very casual, unhurried manner, taking frequent breaks, checking their phone often, etc. Other than the unfinished work in the front of the house, the finished job looks good and I have no complaints about it, but in the end, getting to that point with this company was hardly worth it.
Description of Work: We had Roof to Deck power wash our three story home and unattached garage, as well as power wash strip and stain our deck floor. They also painted the deck rail and lattice below the deck, and were requested to also paint two small benches and 4 pillars outside of our front door.

We chose Roof to Deck based on their experience and overall bid to stain and treat our brand new two level deck. They were very prompt in coming out to provide a quote, their total quote was responsible compared to others who we had bid the work, so we selected them to perform the job. That is where the cooperation and quality of service ended. The application of stain on the overall deck was done very sloppy. Stain was spilled all over our paver patio, over the metal railing bars, and many areas were missed. I have been trying to get them to fix the damage they have done to our property ever since the work was completed. While they have been out a number of times, it has done no good. In addition, the finish they applied s peeling off the entire deck and railing. This experience was a total nightmare

Roof to Deck was professional and prompt from start to finish. Overall they really run a tight ship and you can tell that they do many deck restaining. I called about a quote and someone came out within two days. I believe I had the quote, information about the company, and next steps if I wanted to move forward returned on the same day that the person came out. The company does an excellent job outlining the process and options. Once I decided to move forward the job was scheduled within 10 days. It was a two step process of cleaning and the setting up another appointment for the staining. During each visit I received a confirmation call a couple days before the appointment. During each appointment the folks performing the work were extremely nice and left detailed information about what to expect for the next step. The quality of the work was very good and I felt the price was very competitive. I will certainly use them again when it is time to restain. I received 10% off for being an Angies list customer.

It exceeded my expectations. They responded to my request for an estimate in a timely manner. The estimate was $50 or more less than the other estimate from a comparely rated Angie's List company. They gave me an estimate both with and without window cleaning as I requested. I was suprised that powerwashing a house is that high in price, but apparently it is the going rate. I opted not to include the window washing due to the cost, and planned to do them by hand myself after the powerwash. They answered the phone when I called, responded to emails quickly, and gave me clear instructions for how things would go that they followed. I was pleasently suprised to find that the windows were clean and virtually streak-free after the service so I will not have to wash by hand. They also cleaned my front step and sidewalk so that they look like new.

Roof-to-Deck was very timely with providing us a quote for the job. Started our work even sooner than they had estimated and did a very thorough job. After the cleaning, I noticed some remnants (wood fibers and stain chippings) of the cleaning process on our patio pavers. At the time that they returned the following week to stain our deck and play system, I mentioned the issue and they took care of it right away. After the technician was done staining the deck, I thought that the stain hadn't penetrated as well as I had expected on the floor boards of the deck. The technician agreed and said that he would talk to a manager. The manager was out on the next business day to check out the situation. He agreed that an additional coat might rectify the problem. After the additional coat of stain both our play system and deck look great! Roof to Deck did a great job and the part that makes me the most anxious to recommend them to others is that a couple of things didn't go perfectly (which always happens - that's life) and they responded immediately and happily to make the situation right. I will definitely hire them to clean and restain our deck the next time it is needed.

In April I called Roof-to-Deck for an estimate on cleaning and staining my deck and screened-in porch boards, as well as the decks of several others in our townhome association. A nice-appearing gentleman and an assistant promptly came out, measured, and left information on the company and process used. Before they left, I was told we'd be e-mailed an estimate in the next day or two, followed by a written one in the mail. When nothing was received within a week, I called to make sure the company had my correct e-mail. They verified my info, and said I would be receiving something soon. A week later, I sent an e-mail inquiry. To date, I've never heard a thing from them; I don't believe the others have either. I and two other interested persons here contacted another highly rated company on Angie's List to do the work and received excellent service.
Description of Work: I was never contacted with the results of my estimate.

My phone call was returned the same day. They came out to measure the deck, e-mailed and mailed us a quote. The appointment was set up for the power washing the following week. The deck had to dry (we had some rainy days) and they returned to stain and seal. It was a pleasure to have it done so quickly and for a good price. I will use them again.
Description of Work: They power washed, and stained and sealed our deck.

Roof-To-Deck Restoration did a good job. They quoted a competitive price. They showed up on-time and did a good job. We are very satisfied with their work. They seem to want to do a "good job", not just finish the job.

Great company to work with! They were extremely responsive to both email and phone during the entire process. I had a lot of questions about the product they used for staining and they worked with me the entire time answering all my questions. My fence looks great and I couldn't recommend them more!
