RITZY CLEAN

I waited for hours for them to come. They finally called me to tell me it would be many more hours before they could get there. Every time I called, I couldn't get ahold of anyone and he would call me back days later. When they did call me to tell me they were going to be late, they were blaming me and not apologetic at all. They also lied to me about why they weren't there. The 1st person I spoke to told me the house was bigger than expected and it was taking longer. The 2nd person I spoke to told me it was an emergency and they were trying to save someone's house who had been flooded. That's a whole Saturday out of my life I'll never get back. I fired them!

They came the same day and were on time. The person who actually came to the house was very helpful and was nice to work with. He gave quite a bit of helpful information about methods to remove water and about risk of mold damage and how to address it. I explained that I would like to do some of the work myself to save money, and he gave suggestions about which things I could do myself. He did tell me that there would be a fee just for his visit to the house, which I had not been told on the phone when I contacted them to set up the appointment (I was not asked to pay anything after I terminated the appointment). Things went downhill after he went to his truck to prepare an estimate. He was on the phone talking to headquarters, and the call went on and on. Eventually I went to the truck and he told me his boss would call me. The gentleman who then called provided estimates that were higher than I was willing or able to pay for this problem: $800 for removal of water and running fans to dry the carpet, or $1800 to $3000 to dry out the basement and remove the carpet (about 400 square feet). When I told him that was more than I could pay, and that I could probably manage removing the carpet myself, he raised his voice, and told me I would not be able to remove the carpet myself. I felt he was trying to pressure or scare me into accepting his terms. I ended the appointment at that point, and decided to handle the matter myself. I had already been advised by a different company that it would not be too difficult to remove the carpet myself so I knew he was not being straight with me when he said that. All in all, a bad experience, and I would not want to work with this company again, nor trust what they told me. I understand they need to make money on house calls, but pressure tactics are not the way to go.

The Ritzy Clean phone representative called me back promptly and was very polite. The person who came to do the cleaning was on time and seemed knowledgeable. They did some type of treatment to counteract browning that occurs when the carpet gets wet, but some of that browning has since returned. Some stains came out, but others came back with time.

THE YOUNG HOUSE CLEANER WAS VERY PLEASANT AND COURTEOUS BUT DID NOT SEEM VERY EXPERIENCED. THE WORK SEEMED TO PROGRESS RATHER SLOWLY. THE MORE HEAVILY SOILED AREAS, IN PARTICULAR, THE WALLS WERE NOT CLEANED ADEQUATELY. THE CLEANER USED ONLY A CELLULOSE SPONGE "MILD" CLEANING PRODUCTS AND A LOT OF ELBOW GREASE. I FOUND OUT A LITTLE TOO LATE THAT THE CLEANERS WILL USE CUSTOMERS CLEANING PRODUCTS WHEN REQUESTED.

RITZY CLEAN STAFF WAS VERY PROMPT RETURNING CALLS. I WAS NOT PRESENT DURING OR AFTER THE CARPET CLEANING SINCE I HAD ALREADY VACATED THE APARTMENT. THE CARPET REQUIRING CLEANING WAS ONLY 1 1/2 YEARS OLD AND VERY CLEAN ALREADY. PRICE SEEMED REASONABLE. WORK WAS COMPLETED 6/2005.

CARPET WAS CLEANED WELL. SEVERAL DIRT SPOTS WERE REMOVED. THE CLEANING HOSES FROM THE TRUCK BURNED OUT PART OF OUR GRASS. WE ASKED RITZY CLEAN TO REFUND 20% AS WE HAVE THE HOUSE ON THE MARKET. THEY SAID THEY WOULD MAIL A CHECK. ON DAY OF SCHEDULED CLEANING, THE GUY ASKED TO COME SEVERAL HOURS EARLY. ON THE DAY WE SCHEDULED TO ASSES THE DAMAGED GRASS, HE CAME AN HOUR LATE. THE GUY TOLD ME I BOUGHT CHEAP CARPET. I DID NOT APPRECIATE THAT.

THEY DID A GOOD EFFECTIVE JOB-I'VE HAD THEM CLEAN CARPET FOR ME BEFORE ALWAYS WITH GOOD RESULTS. THE BEST PART IS THEY DON'T TELL YOU A PRICE OVER THE PHONE AND THEN JACK IT WAY UP FOR EVERY LITTLE SPOT ONCE THEY GET IN YOUR HOUSE. THEY HAVE NEVER TRIED TO SELL ME MORE THAN I WANTED, BUT ARE WILLING TO ADD ON OTHER ROOMS FOR A REASONABLE FEE IF ASKED. THEY ARE ALSO PLEASANT PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH.

VERY PUNCTUAL; COORDINATING THE CARPET CLEANING AND HOUSE CLEANING WITHIN 5 HOURS TIME WORKED LIKE CLOCKWORK. WE FOUND THE HOUSE HAD BEEN CLEANED WELL BY THE PREVIOUS OWNERS. UNFORTUNATELY, I FOUND OUT THE JOB WAS A ''CONTRACT'', NOT HOURLY, SO THEY COULDN'T DO LESS WORK. I PAID FOR THE JOB EVEN THOUGH IT WAS HARD FOR THEM TO FIND THINGS TO CLEAN, THEY SAID. TO BE FAIR, I CALLED AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY DID LOWER THEIR PRICE BY $12.00.
