Plumbline worked with us, even though we had already identified or purchased the tiles, cabinets, and fixtures/appliances. Professional work from a diligent, friendly, and detail oriented crew. They understood when issues arose (usually our fault) and worked with us to help us fix things and keep the project moving. Daily contact with Roger guaranteed we were always informed. They even worked evenings and weekends to get the kitchen completed before Thanksgiving! Would/will hire them again for sure!

Roger was fantastic - he helped me understand pricing, shared budgets along the way, was willing to see after business hours to accommodate my work schedule, etc. He was great to work with. He did bring in an architect that operated without a contract (my bad for letting it happen) and won't release the files to me. I've since reached out to two commercial and two residential architect firms (I found the residential ones here on Angie's list) and asked them, and all 4 said since I paid for the creation of the files, in their companies, those files would belong to me. Two of them gave examples of why you would also need the files - one suggested they sometimes do exterior work while a client wants an interior designer to do some of the work, and the other firm suggested it is a normal request for the kitchen cabinetry company to make, to streamline their process. Obviously every company operates differently, and because I was too trusting and didn't have a contract in place there is nothing I can point to to take them to small claims court, but basically the architect is saying I have to continue working with him if I want this project to move forward. If you need design plans as a part of your project, I'd suggest you find your own architect and work through them directly, with a contract - it adds an additional step to the process, but the architect that came through Plumbline has created a very negative experience for me, and unfortunately now when I am ready to move forward, I have to start from scratch. Like I said, Roger was great, but just be very cautious of any groups that he introduces you to, and don't agree to work with any of them until you have a written contract in place so you aren't taken advantage of.

(1) We received three estimates for this job. Theirs was not the lowest, but it was close. Went with them because of their obvious attention to detail. (2) Everybody makes mistakes, and they made a couple (e.g., minor damage to window frames). They acknowledged these right away and fixed them to our satisfaction. (3) Roger's crew and his subs were all very professional and just plain nice. (4) We love the finished product! (5) We plan to remodel our kitchen in a couple of years and will definitely give Plumbline builders first crack at the job.

We contacted Plumbline to create a pass-through window between our kitchen and dining room. The project involved some demo, electrical and tape/texture/trim. We worked with Roger start to finish and found him to be knowledgeable, an exceptional communicator, responsive and excellent with logistics - all qualities which are tough to find in this industry. Once we got into their schedule the work happened efficiently, with great quality and for a reasonable price. Each person on the team was a pleasure to have in our home. We’re thrilled to have a reliable and professional “go-to” for contracting/remodeling and looking forward to working with the Plumbline team again as other home needs arise.

Although this was a small job,Roger came out to give a very honest and helpful assessment of installing new flooring, toilet,and sink. I had purchased all the replacements and needed the labor part. He was budget conscious and recommended I look to local,plumber and handymen. I so appreciated his effort, time and advise that I would highly recommend him and plan to get his estimate on kitchen remodel when the time comes.

When we found Plumbline Builders on Angie’s list we were so pleased they were still in business. We contracted with Plumbline in 1995 to finish our basement. We were very satisfied with the results. Therefore, we did not hesitate to sign on with Plumbline for our master bathroom remodel. The project went very well with few hiccups. Roger and his team were sensitive to our budget and offered ways to keep costs down (we kept cabinets, mirror and towel bars) Roger kept us up to date on the progress and what to expect the weeks ahead. The only glitch was a vendor error. Roger jumped on the issue right away and found resolution the same day. He also made sure the error had minimal impact on the project timeline. We are thrilled with our new master bathroom and would not hesitate to contract with Plumbline Builders again.

Our project was difficult. It began in October with permits from the city and the demolition of our existing deck and garage and excavation for the new workshop space. We were delayed by intense Minnesota winter weather over and over again. Despite the set backs the Plumbline team showed up every morning, worked in the dark and the snow to build our beautiful new garage, workshop and deck. They did a great job of working with our existing, uneven structures to add sound new construction. Through it all Roger kept us smiling and laughing and the entire team was friendly, we enjoyed having them at our home.

Roger, Drew and everyone else was 100% professional, organized and appropriate. I had gotten a few other bids on the job, and Plumbline was the most affordable. They ripped out my old fibreglass tub/shower surround and replaced it with a full sized wall-in shower. They replaced the vanity, toilet, ceiling lights/fan and painted the entire bathroom. They helped me pick out the fixtures, as well. I now have a wonderful bright bathroom that's a pleasure to use!

We were so impressed by Plumbline Builders for our front porch and siding project. We have a 1915 home in Saint Paul and needed our 3-season front porch reinforced with new footings, new framing, windows, and door. We also re-sided our home. The bid we received was very competitive and Roger was very transparent and realistic about all the costs associated with the project. We were impressed by how many times he came out to our house prior to deciding to move forward at no cost to ensure he got the bid right and we were comfortable with all aspects before moving forward. Throughout the time of the project, Roger and team were always available for questions and changes. They truly wanted to get everything right and strived for perfection in all work done. We would definitely use Plumbline again!

We used Plumbline for a remodel of our 1980 kitchen and main level. We moved walls, closets, updated wiring, custom cabinets, new paint and ceilings. As well as new flooring and lighting. They had their work cut out for them with our wiring as well as some other aspects. The process went so smoothly and the final product is amazing! Roger and all his guys were great to work with and communication was on point.

It was a pleasure to work with Roger and others on the Plumbline team. The workers in our home were thoughtful of our needs and respectful of our space during the project. Many even helped us in other ways we did not anticipate, such as sharing information that helped us understand and improve our home, overall. This made me confident in their expertise and knowledge about their respective trades. We particularly appreciated Roger's prompt and direct communication throughout the project. He offered a very competitive price for the work we had done, kept us aware of each step in the process, and explained the "what" and "why" of project tasks in a simple, yet non-condescending manner. I appreciated all of this because I manage groups of people conducting research projects and know from experience how large projects can go wrong just because there are many people with varying goals working together on complex tasks. It can be difficult to be responsible and keep progressing toward the end goal while still being dependent on things that are out of one's control (e.g., weather, worker illness). However, I've learned that direct communication and constant presence is a key to success. Roger knows this too. He kept communicating and updating us throughout the entire process. Through this constant communication I could tell he was competent about the nature of the work, aware of his team's actions and varied needs, able to focus on the overall project goals, and certain everything was done in the best way possible. These skills and many others were very much appreciated and made us confident we made a good choice in Plumbline Builders for our projects. We highly recommend them to work for others.

The first job was a bit complicated but Roger figured out what we had to do and the end product was great. All of the folks he had working for him were knowledgeable and friendly. The second project was more straightforward but not without hiccups normal for an older house and weather related. Again the end product is great and the workers were friendly. Ryan did some cool tile work on both projects. Roger welcomed my questions and followed up on my concerns.

From the architect's plans to the final product, our remodel is absolutely incredible. We truly have our dream home thanks to Plumbline! The quality of the work is impeccable, to the point that the mortgage appraiser called us after her final walkthrough to say that it was one of the most beautifully executed remodels she had seen in her entire career. Roger was so helpful every step of the way, and was always very upfront and honest with us which we appreciated very much! The only "negative" we could think of is that the remodel took about 3 months longer than we were planning, but Roger was helpful in keeping us updated on progress and I'm pretty sure there haven't been any remodels of this magnitude that have been completed "on time." All around we were incredible impressed with Plumbline's work, and have already referred 3 of our friends to them - and they've all been happy with the work as well!

Roger and his team were great to work with! He called me promptly after my inquiry, and spent over a hour at our house, going over details of what we wanted to do. We were on both a budget and a deadline, and he worked very creatively with both, actually recommending we NOT do some things we'd considered, and recommending things we had not thought of. Everyone who came to work was friendly and left things tidy at the end of the day. We were delighted with the job, andcwould absolutely work with Plumbline again!

The builders were responsive, friendly, and respectful. Though they were working on multiple timelines, they were very respectful of ours (including when family would be visiting, etc). The bedroom they put into our basement looks like it was built their originally--it is seamless and looks fantastic. This includes a custom window seat and storage which they stained to match the rest of the wood in our house. They were also willing to take care of multiple unrelated small projects that we could not find a reliable handyman to fix (like re-caulking our countertop, fixing nail pops, etc)--which they could have easily deferred since they typically only do large projects. Everyone of their workers was very respectful and friendly to my family. My young son talked about them all the time--he could not wait to see them in the morning. I will not hesitate to use them again in the future.

It went really well. It was our first time remodeling anything in our (Built in 1928)old home. We did not know what to expect and how to start. Roger and his team helped us pretty well through out the process. Roger was only a call away to discuss anything. He was very good in understanding what we wanted in terms of look and functionality of the kitchen. We really love it the way it turned out.

We visited with three different remodeling contractors for their ideas and their input for a kitchen remodel. Of the three, Plumbline Builders was a stand out. Their initial evaluation and assessment was more thorough, they shared several different ways we could have re-worked the current layout to remain practical, functional, and to add some additional space. We liked their ideas and felt a comfortable chemistry with the owner. As it turned out, we ultimately decided not to remodel. Had we decided to or if we re-route our decision, Plumbline Builders would be a smart first choice to tap back into.

They did a large remodel project for us last fall including kitchen, bathroom, and basement bar. Not only did everything turn out amazing (we constantly get remarks about our bar) but when we added some additions to our project, Roger worked with us knowing we had a tight budget. As great as all that was, it is what they did later which sets them apart from others. Roger checked back in with us a few months later to see how things were going. They came back to check on their work and do some touchups on normal house settling issues from the changing MN seasons at no extra cost. We also mentioned we had an unrelated plumbing leak in one of our walls that leaked through the ceiling below. Roger was glad to fit us in his busy schedule to help us find our problem with minimal invasion into walls, walk us through our plumbing options, and patchup everything back to normal. Nobody else would have taken the time to help us, and again did not break the bank. Plumbline is our go to contractor when we need work done and would recommend them to everyone. Thanks again guys!

We sought bids for multiple projects on our home from three different contractors. Plumbline Builders was by far the most attentive and thorough contractor during the first walk through. Roger, the owner, listened to what we were looking for and offered his recommendations to make our home a reality; and he did so in a manner that kept us well within our budget (being that Roger has 30+ years in the business, he was very knowledgeable). He really took the time to understand our needs on all levels. All the people he employs and subcontracts with were extremely friendly and did great work. All projects were completed above our expectations, and we'll definitely use them again in the future, and also recommend them to family and friends. As much as we were happy to see everything completed, we were sad to see them go.
