PLAY IT AGAIN SPORTS

We were looking for an inexpensive treadmill, and didn't know a lot about them, but knew a few features we wanted. We spoke to a young man who seemed moderately knowledgeable about them. The store seems to be mostly staffed by non-talkative high-school boys, but the staff member who helped us answered the few questions we had and was nice enough. We decided to buy a floor model. After getting it home, I noticed that the heart monitor chest strap was missing. I called the store, but the person I spoke to didn't see it in the immediately visible area and gave me the phone number of someone to call (presumably a "higher-up"). I left a message for him on Monday and never heard back. I called back four days later and he said they were looking into a solution and someone from the store would call me. I still never heard from anyone, but when I called the store a few days later, I was told they had a strap there for me to pick up. When I stopped in it took them a while to find it, and none of the people involved ever apologized. Overall, we got a good treadmill at a good price, and eventually received all the necessary parts to make it useful, but the customer service left something to be desired. I understand apathetic young store clerks - I don't approve, but it was less unexpected than the manager not being bothered to return my calls or apologize.
