DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We provided adequate furniture pads and shrink wrap to hold it on our expensive furniture. What came out of the truck was a mess. We were moving cross-country and had a 26' truck to fill. At one point we stopped the two young men who were our packers and asked why the expensive headboard they were carrying into the truck wasn't wrapped. They said that they wrapped pieces when they got them in the truck. We went back to what we were doing and didn't feel as if we needed to monitor them. Bad call on our part. The unpackers on the other end stopped unpacking the truck when they came upon the problems, asking "Who the H**l packed this truck?" Examples: Deep gouges on a table top that was placed on its side between a metal garage shelf and a wrought iron patio table. The wrought iron patio table was placed on top of a delicate capiz shell side table--neither was wrapped. The top of my grandmother's rocker was SNAPPED OFF because it rode upside down for 12 hours stacked on a pile of equally unprotected furniture and the pivoting action snapped off the scrolled top of the back of the rocker. The base of another table was stacked on top of a filing cabinet. Leather kitchen chairs were stacked on top of each other with the legs poking into the leather seats. Truly an amateur packing job. At the beginning of the day my boyfriend inquired about their experience--one said he was new but had moved his cousin multiple times in the past year and the other said 6 months. I'm sad because I used Phil and Ted's when I moved to MN and had the exact opposite experience 5 years ago. When the damage was noted, the unpacking stopped and I photographed how the remainder of the truck was packed as well as the damaged items as they were brought out of the truck. I immediately called Jordan and left a voice mail that I needed an ASAP return phone call because of the damage and described what I knew about. Two days later, no call. Three days later, no call. I called and left another voice mail. Finally, five days after the original call I received a text message that I should text photos of the truck loaded by them and a photo of the truck before it was unloaded. When the truck was loaded and before it was unloaded we had absolutely NO idea what lay behind the items closest to the door so why would we photograph? I provided 23 photos of damaged items. I also alerted the credit card company I used to pay for the services. They contacted Jordan as well and did not reverse the charges as, although damages were incurred, the services were rendered. Jordan refuses to address the issues because he said it could not be determined if the damage was done by his crew or the unloading crew. Since the unloading crew stopped unloading when they found damaged items and we photographed the items before they moved any further, it's very clear the damage was caused by Phil & Ted's failure to adequately pad our belongings. The movers, Chris and Josh were great - friendly, professional, efficient, and good listeners. Totally satisfied with the work they provided. My only complaint is that I was informed when they showed up that I would have to pay in cash. I was not informed of this beforehand and was not informed directly by the supervisor. It wasn't a huge inconvenience for me, but certainly could be for someone else. Anyway, best price I could find so the bit of last-minute weirdness was worth it for me.

Excellent. I had heard good feedback about them from a friend who has used them. I reserved them through Uhaul when reserving the truck because it was convenient to do that at the same time. Some how the time was indicated at 9 am even though I wasn't getting the truck till 10. I contacted this company directly via email and Jordan (the owner I think) called me right away and we changed the appointment to 11 am. Mike and Kevin showed up promptly at 11 at the designated location. After surveying the situation, they got to work quickly. They were prompt, polite, professional, and careful with my stuff. Put a small ding in a well and notified me right away. They had to maneuver the stuff over chair lifts in the stairways and they did a good job of getting everything passed the obstacles. AtT one point one of them tried to make a call to their boss and the other said: you can call him after we're done so we don't run the clock. I thought that was very considerate of him. They were done with the move in an hour so I had them move a heavy sofa sleeper from the second floor to the garage, and a washer from the third floor to the garage. We still had some time and they asked if there was anything else they could move. So they moved an A/C unit from the garage to the basement. Then they folded all the moving blankets in the truck I had rented, I gave them the payment code and they left. I was happy with and impressed by their work and attitude. Will definitely hire again.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend this business after my experience with them. When I made contact to set up the job, they responded with the dates they were available and asked for certain information to confirm. I responded quickly with the information and confirmed the date. They responded again asking for the same thing, so I replied again promptly to ensure they received it. The day of the job comes and I reach out to confirm a third time, only to find out that somehow my multiple previous emails were disregarded and there was no move scheduled. They did their best at this point, which was to send movers the next day after their other jobs. This required that I keep the truck an additional day, rearrange childcare, etc. to make it happen. The movers were polite, prompt, and worked hard, but made an honest mistake--they left behind an important item. It was labeled as needing to be moved, it was in the right place, they just forgot it. Unfortunately, they were never going to tell me this, at the end of the move I saw it wasn't moved and they were already walking away when I inquired about where it was. They replied immediately that they realized they'd forgotten it, weren't sure how since it had been right there, and were sorry. They were clearly going to leave the job without letting me know they knew it wasn't complete. I called the owner to complete payment and let him know about the last item. We agreed I'd see if it would fit in my vehicle and if not, I'd be in touch. When it didn't fit, I reached out. He responded quickly to say he was actually 5 minutes away from the item and could swing by, pick it up, and deliver (it is a 15 minute drive), and that he would do it for $100. I responded quickly to offer $40. I didn't hear back from him that day, so the next day I asked him if he'd gotten my email, as my previous experience was that he is not diligent in monitoring email. He responded quickly to say that he had received my message, but he was "offput" by my negotiating the price and the regular price would be his minimum of $120 plus an additional $50 since he was using his vehicle, for a total of $170. He told me I should then rent my own truck and do it all myself. Given that it was multiple errors on his company's part, and especially after I'd been a patient and understanding customer at this point, it was a shame that this business did not complete the job they were hired to do without trying to demand more money. Their lack of diligence and professionalism cost me time and stress to cover their mistakes, and left me with an incomplete job.

Very efficiently moved the furniture as well as made suggestions to make the process go more smoothly.

Very well. My entryway had an unusual configuration but they were able to figure out how to remove the feet, position the furniture and get it into the house without incurring any damage to my furniture or walls.They arrived on time at the planned pick-up location. This was important to me since i was pressed fro time and had other commitments that were time sensitive. They identified themselves, got down to business and handled my furniture with care. Nothing was damaged during the move and they were courteous and respectful when the work was done. No lingering around.

Kevin and JJ arrived near the end of the window they gave us for arrival, asked to see the scope of the job, and got to work. They were friendly, competent, fast, and tireless. One thing I really liked was their request that we not actually load anything into the truck. Since they were responsible for anything that happened to the contents of the truck (they didn't drive it; that was my purview), they wanted to handle that part of the task. Seeing how competent they were, I was perfectly happy with that. I really liked that they took responsibility for the contents of the truck; that's a mark of professionalism, and I respect that. At the other end, they churned things back out of the truck and into the garage. Everything ended up at the destination in the same condition it left the departure location; these guys knew how to pack! We ran over the time a little, but that wasn't their fault, and the charge for the extra time was very reasonable. I also appreciate the advice we got from the company. We had been planning to rent a van, but went with a truck on the company's recommendation. Good thing we did, because it turned out we had a lot more than we thought! This company was referred to us by a friend, and I would definitely refer others to Phil & Ted's.

It was really, really good. We used them three separate times. They were always on time, very fast and efficient. They were really good. They charged for the hour with a minimum of two-hour charge. It seemed very reasonable for me. They did it within two hours. They were casual yet very personable. They were not so corporate but they did a good job. They showed up on time with the right number of people for the job and under the time that they said they would. Everything went perfectly good. I would definitely use them in the future.

Great group to work with. They packed the truck with no room to spare, very impressive. Good hustle!

I could not have asked for more! They were so pleasant and helpful and worked hard. My adventure was very challenging since they were working an area where the basement wall had collapsed. The broken wall and a few tons of dirt had jammed the furniture, etc. up against walls (in some cases through walls). I was shocked they were able to save so many of my belongings. They had been recommended by a friend and I will be recommending them to everyone. Thanks guys.

The experience was wonderful. It had originally toke six people to move the chest upstairs. I had contacted another company to move the chest downstairs. After coming to look at the chest and what it would take to move it downstairs, they declined to do the job. Phil and Ted's Excellent Moving Company used three people to move the chest. They did an excellent job. They were very professional. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Very friendly and professional guys. Willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. If you're moving, you need to hire these guys. Never had such a smooth moving experience considering the stressful situation it is. Would use again and recommend!!

We booked the crew through UHaul's partner site- movinghelp dot com. The company had over 500 positive reviews, and I understand why! I was called within hours of reserving the move online to confirm details, including helping me decide on the size truck to rent and how many furniture pads, etc. It was obvious they knew what they were talking about. A snag in the house closing caused us to reschedule the move last-minute to an earlier slot in the day. They were incredibly accommodating with the change. The two guys showed up about 15 minutes early, walked through the house to look at all the stuff that needed to be loaded. They were nice enough to repark the truck for me (it was snowy and I was terrified of backing up a 26ft truck!) They got to work right away and only took one break that I saw. My husband and I were incredibly impressed with their efficiency, politeness, and all around good nature. They took care of our belongings, and made sure to ask us if stuff needed to be kept together or if there were boxes we wanted easily accessible when we arrived to our new home. They were obviously experienced and took great pride in their work. When it was all said and done, they finished almost an hour early! My only complaint is that we could hire them again in Wisconsin :)

My experience with Phil and Ted's was truly excellent. Jesse and Luke (hope I have the names right) showed up on time and were very polite and personable. They quickly and carefully loaded stuff from my storage unit and then followed me to the house to continue loading. I had a few pieces of furniture and a ton of different sized boxes, fragile artwork and musical instruments. They were thoughtful about the best plan of action and were able to figure out a way to safely load everything even though I threw them some curve balls with things that would have to be unloaded off the truck first at my destination. The truck did not have a ramp, so they had to jump in and out quite a bit, but still wore smiles. I would be hard pressed to have such a good attitude after all that work. They managed to load everything in under two hours despite having to go to two locations. The truck was packed tightly and securely. It was a great experience and I would use them again in a heartbeat! Guys, I thank you and my back thanks you. MK

I have now used this company at least four times-- I've lost count!-- in the process of downsizing to a smaller home, then dealing with the leftover "stuff" in storage units. They are independent "mover helpers"-- i.e., they do loading, unloading, rearranging or similar heavy lifting jobs you might have, but do not provide moving trucks I have obviously been very pleased with their work. They have been exceptionally careful with any items they have moved and excellent at fitting things into small spaces like a truck or storage unit. They also have a great attitude, always cheerful and willing to do whatever needs to be done. I've hired other companies and individuals for this kind of work over the last decade; some were better than others but in my experience none were as good as Phil and Ted's, and they are reasonably priced (fees are normally per hour, per man.)

They arrived on time, but after an hour, the two movers determined they needed a third person to help them. After one hour, the movers took an hour break to wait for the third mover. By the time they were finished loading, it was 8:30 PM. The truck we rented would not start, so the movers left for the day and agreed to come back the next day at 8 AM to finish unloading. We paid them for the 3.5 hours they worked, and then waited for them to arrive at our new house the following day. Phil sent a text at 8 AM saying he couldn't get two guys to show up until 12:45. We agreed, but then they never showed up. I called, left a voice mail, sent a text - nothing. No movers, no response, no apologies. My husband has a herniated disc in his back, and so he and I were left to unload a 26 foot moving truck by ourselves at 5 PM on Sunday night when we finally realized they really weren't coming. Unbelievably horrific thing to do to another person. I would entirely understand if something happened and we had to make other arrangements, but they just completely blew us off. What a joke. Save yourself the aggravation and look elsewhere. What a mistake.

I selected Phil and Ted's moving service after doing an online search for movers only (not storage, transportation, etc.). Of course I ended up selecting them based on their name. Phil was my primary mover. He was always professional and courteous. He and the other mover (his nephew) showed up on time, and quickly got to work. Packing is not a strength of mine, so I had some smaller things at the end which resulted in more time being taken than we first planned, yet Phil stayed until the work was complete. I'd never worked with movers before; I was going to hire them again to unload my storage unit, but ended up using the movers who my new husband hired to take care of his things. After comparing the 2 services, there is not a doubt in my mind - we should have hired Phil for unloading. The work of the other movers is still not complete. Thank you Phil for a job well done!

Excellent service, attitude, experience and knowledge. The job was bigger than I anticipated, and without their experience and effort, could have been difficult. They loaded the truck expertly, nothing shifted in transport, were amenable to specific requests and directions, and did so with lots of humor, making what could have been drudgery fun. I would recommend them to anyone.

Excellent! Second time we have used their services and could not be more happy – would use again!!!

They were very cautious and experienced in their job. They were on schedule for the job and extremely pleasant people. I liked their services and will use the same in future.
