Perfection Heating & AC

We needed to stabilize a house that needs a complex boiler replacement, but couldn't schedule it before the freezing weather set in. On short notice, found Perfection A&C who came in the next day to set up temporary heating system to protect the home. They answered all questions and took care of everything in a timely manner.

When our air conditioning broke down Sunday July 15, I called CenterPoint Energy Home Service Plus, whose monthly service fee I have been autopaying for more than 10 years. They refused to come to fix it until 4 days later on Thursday. When I phoned Perfection Heating & Air Conditiioning in Maplewood about 4 PM Sunday, they offered to come about 8 PM the same evening. They did so and replaced a capacitor that restored full air cooling service. Cheers for flexibility!

They did a great job and did what they promised. They initially estimated one long day to complete, but it ended up taking 2 and half days due to complications. They honored their estimate no questions asked.

We initially called another heating company who quoted us $1500 to fix the problem stating the main control board and inducer motor were bad. I called Perfection H&C based on family recommendation. They stated the inducer motor was in fact good, and repaired it for 1/2 the price! Jim was professional, pleasant to talk to and explained things very well. Thank you Perfection! You gained a loyal customer!

Yesterday we found out that our furnace needed replacement immediately. This was part of an insurance claim so I don't know the cost for the replacement furnace and installation. Perfection arranged for the installation to be done today. They said they would be here at 7 AM and the job would take about 3 hours. They arrived a few minutes before 7 and left at about 10:05. They supplied a comparable but improved unit to our 9 year old furnace. They answered the few questions I had in a way I could understand and in an unhurried manner. They explained what they were going to do. They were respectful and professional and cleaned up when they were finished. We are very happy with the work that Perfection Heating and Air Conditioning did for us.

I was impressed by Jordan and really liked how he explained things. When we needed them, they shifted their entire schedule to fit us in and re-run a gas line.

We decided to give them a call for an estimate on a new central AC unit as they installed the furnace in our home for the previous owner (and it's worked fine for years - previous owner didn't replace the AC unit though). I called for an estimate and they were able to get me in the next day. However they never showed up or called. By this point we already had a couple other bids on the job - and we went with another contractor. If you're not willing to show up when you say you will BEFORE you get my money - chances are you won't later.either.

Service went well. Technician informed me of how to watch for this and what specifically was going on. Overall, a good experience.

They were very prompt and very courteous. They charged about $170 for the service.

It went well... Wish I could say that for the rest of the project. One thing: I left thinking they would not be able to attach the 6" ducts on the top of the main and when I came home to find them coming from the top... I was impressed .. there was not much space to work with. This will make for a much cleaner open ceiling. Thanks Again all involved.

I found them on Angie's List. They were extremely professional and were the first people we had who looked like they knew what they were doing. They looked like they were trained.

Perfection did a great job, the techs and office staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. I would call them again if needed.

Young man came within 30 Minutes of our call. Knew what the problem was, replace some parts, both furnace and AC runninng like a top.. If this furnace and AC can run a couple more years, yea====== He also said if we wanted to replace furnace and AC he would take 1/2 off our service call. Replacement had to be withi n 30 days of our repair. would hire again.

The person that came to give the estimate arrived about 25 minutes late. However he was courtious, professional and was very knowlegable. I had other estimates for the same work. It was a very close decision as the prices were comparable. I ultimately chose another company as I was having this other company do other work.

We bought a new house from the Ugly House people and they wouldn't replace the 28 year old furnace as part of the sale but did put us in touch with the company that does all their heating and air conditioning work for the best possible price. Steve, the owner came out himself to quote the new furnace and explain my choices. Steve did not try and sell me anything and actually discouraged me from considering a more expensive option. He spent a lot of time answering my questions and explaining things. I told Steve I needed to get things done ASAP before we moved in and before I had even driven away his office had contacted me to schedule the install. Perfection Heating's crew arrived and immediately went over with me what they were doing and made sure all the floors they were going to walk on were covered. I learned over the install how much experience his crew had and it showed in the fantastic wotk they did. They were very conscientious in the work they did and made sure everything worked properly before they left. The office followed up several times right away to see if I was happy, got the inspector scheduled, and even handled my Centerpoint rebate for me. I would recommend Perfection Heating to anyone. I felt extremely satisfied and happy with the work they did.

I noticed the fan motor on the outside air conditioning unit was louder than in the past. I reviewed the warranty infomation and it appeared to be a covered item. I called Perfection Heating and A/C and set up an appointment to have someone come out and check it out. The technician arrived as scheduled. Quickly identified that the fan motor needed replacement. He had the part on his truck. He called the manufacturer and got approval for the warranty part. He installed the new fan motor. Very efficient and professional.

We had to have them replace it, as we had a house fire two years ago. The insurance company reimbursed us with some of the charges that we paid for the new furnace that we purchased. They were very good. The technician who came in to get the work done showed up when he was supposed to. He was helpful when we decided to go with a high proficiency furnace instead of replacing the one that we had. I haven’t had any problems with any of their work. They also explained about everything that I was purchasing from them. The work in our house was started in the end of November and finished around the first part of March.

Our furnace was cycling on and off quite a bit for over a year. It would get very cold in the house sometimes, but most of the time it was tolerable. One day however, it just kept getting colder and colder, so I called several companies for quotes and decided to have them come out because they told me they could get there quickly. I waited over 6 hours before I could get a decent idea of when the repairperson would be out. It got fairly cold in the house, but when he finally arrived, the repair took a short amount of time to repair. I found their work sufficient, but the long wait and higher trip charge rules them out if I had another issue come up again.

Received a bid from Steve on two properties I manage and hired him to do both after listening to him tell me how seasoned they were with this type of work and knowing what to expect. Although they called, both projects were started days late and finished later. He said there were unexpected costs that the city was making him do and he was unaware of that work needing to be done when he bid the job. I thought seasoned meant he would know what is required or "expected"(the city had a list for them to complete prior to finalizing his bid). He seemed to blame the city and charged me 25% more prior to finishing otherwise they were not going to finish. Poor way to handle a job. I had to get the job done which they did when I paid them, but I felt ripped off and hung out to dry.

My furnace quit working on a weekend, so I called their number expecting to get an answering machine. To my surprise, I got a real person! A service person at that!. He (Dustin) was even pleasant despite the fact that I had interrupted his weekend. He told he could come out now but it would be at emergency prices; however, if I could wait until the weekday, to call their office, and schedule an appointment. I did that and Diane was very helpful in scheduling a late afternoon appointment that didn't disrupt my workday too much. Dustin was about an hour late, but called to advise me. When he arrived, he explained that my furnace was old and worn out (21 years) and he could give me an estimate to fix it, but that I should be aware that it is possible that it might not make it through a tough winter. This is not the 1st time I had heard that. Another company that serviced it last year, said much the same thing. I decided not to fix it. He gave me a bid for a new furnace and taught me how to get it started on my own. He even gave me his home phone number in case I needed him to walk me through it again. His instructions worked beautifully. It bought me time to get a few more bids. In the end, I went with another company, mostly because I preferred that brand of furnace, but I was very grateful for Dustin's assistance.

When you call for an appointment, the receptionist is really on top of things and schedules appointments promptly. They come out when they say they'll be here. The workers are friendly and professional and they clean up well when they are finished. I will continue to use them for future service and would recommend them to others.

The process went very well. We were in the middle of the single digit temps outside and the furnace had stopped working. I called late afternoon, and the rep was there about 24 hours later. The scheduler was very good about calling .5 hour before the rep was at the house so that I didn't have to miss additional hours of work waiting for him. The rep identified the problem with the fan very quickly and replaced the part; so the furnace was working within an hour or so. He also recommended that we get a new furnace based on the brands that he's *not* servicing all of the time. Our furnace is over 50 years old; and he said that when it goes, it will be from a crack, which will release carbon monoxide - so, we obviously don't want that. But, he wasn't pushy at all; it simply sounded like good advice.

He did what he came out for and didn't try to charge extra. I was very pleased.

Steve performed work over the course of three visits. He was very conscientious and explained in detail what he found. I could tell that doing the job right and quality work was important to him. Perhaps he could tell I was interested in knowing specifics. He gave tips on maintenance of equipment and educated me on how my home's HVAC system was working. He recommended a duct cleaning company one of few he said, that really knew what they were doing. Though he was not familiar with air exchanger unit (15+ years old) I had, he took it upon himself to call a local vendor and get information needed to re-balance unit and correct a defroster unit issue I discovered after I myself replaced a motor in this unit. He also pointed out a potentially serious issue where another HVAC company had located furnace exhaust only 2 feet away from air changer intake! He then swapped the intake and exhaust ducting to resolve that issue. I was very impressed by his professionalism and quality work.

Jim was very nice, knowledgeable and efficient. He spent time answering all of my questions and coached me on things I could do to make my A/C and furnace run more efficiently. I will definitely use them for all future heating and A/C needs.
