Olin was attentive to details and to our needs: we wanted shallow stairs, we wanted flower boxes, etc., and he took the time to figure out how to create a beautiful deck to our specs. We also have an old, beloved tree that he had to build around--and he did so creatively and with regard for the health of the tree. We would not hesitate to refer anyone to him, as he is so thoughtful and so skilled. And we will call him in the future if we need a first-rate carpenter.

This is the second time we have used Ben for our remodeling projects. He does an excellent job; is easy to work with, is priced competitively and accommodates our, and other contractors work schedules. He works alone so the customer must be cognizant of his communication constraints; we are more than happy to do so. We will certainly use him again.

Winter of 2010 was a bad one with all the snow. Our garage roof became too heavy with the snow and one corner of the garage began to crack open. We called our insurance company and they sent an inspector who decided that the garage would need to be torn down and a new one built. The man who had put in our automatic garage door many years ago, (Steve from and quot;North Countryand quot;) suggested Ben Olin. We called Ben up and he came over immediately and gave us an estimate. Ben lives very close to us. The estimate had to be OK'd by the insurance company, and it was. Ben sent us some designs for the new garage and they were very professional and easy to read. We were told that the garage would be completed in roughly 1 month. It was completed in 1 month and 3 days! Ben had to work with the three other companies and coordinate when each job had to be done. Ben worked extremely hard and is quite the perfectionist! Ben worked by himself for most of the construction and spent about 6 hours per day building. Ben also put the siding on the garage and a motion detector light. Ben put in two opening windows and a metal door with two locks. Ben gave me choices on the kind of metal I wanted for the knob and locks. Ben was also able to match the siding on the garage to that of our house. Ben is easy to work with and cleaned the workspace at the end of the day. Ben will be doing more work for us on our front porch in the coming months.
