Excellent. Matt came as scheduled, was very professional, worked quickly and efficiently. I've had this company come before and have never been disappointed. Matt really went above and beyond with the skylight cleaning and even used a lifeline to get down to one in a difficult location. I'll be calling them next year to also clean my gutters.

Last year (08/2016) I had the upper half of my chimney redone and coating. Nick's price was similar to the other quotes I had, but they guaranteed their work for 15 years. When they finished I had the best looking chimney on the block. They blended in the new bricks, replaced the cement crown and the correct cap. 2015 I had ice coving my cap, this past winter no ice at all. In June 2017, I notice a couple of bricks peeling (spalling), so I called Nick. He arranged someone to come out and take a look. Besides a couple of spalling bricks they notice the crown needed a little reinforcement. They scheduled me for an appointment the following week. I was going out of town, but they said no problem. I got back from my trip and saw my picture perfect chimney. Just like before, they cleaned up so well that it looked as though no one was there. MN winters are harsh and to provide a guarantee and someone who stands by it speaks volumes to why you should hire Nick to do your work.

Went well initially. The technician had his son working with him, however assured me that he would be the one inside making sure that things went well. I asked if I needed to cover anything and again, he assured me that there was no need as he would be using a shop vacuum to suck up soot and particles being directed downward from top of chimney. His son at some point was the one inside using the shop vac to suck up the debris. All went well until he wrapped up the vac. He accidentally let the coil of the vacuum touch the arm of the sofa and the side of the ottoman leaving black soot on both pieces which were brand new. I showed his father when he came in and he was visibly upset that this happened. His son apologized emphatically as he felt bad about what had happened. His dad initially said I could use soap and water to clean it up, but I told him that I expect compensation for any cleaning done by professional as it was spot on both pieces. He took pics and sent them to Nick the owner. I took my own pics and emailed, as well as called to resolve the issue. I was called back immediately and spoke to Nick who apologized and assured me that I would be compensated for any professional cleaning of my furniture. After I had my pieces cleaned, the company I used sent Nick the receipt for services rendered and I had a check in the mail less than a week later. Other than this little mishap, I would highly recommend Nicks Chimney Service because of the professionalism and expedited resolution when I had a problem.

It went great. Actually I thought my chimney was leaking, but the technician did a little more checking and noticed a slow leak from my hot water heater. I was very happy with the work he did. He gave me lots of information, answered a my questions and left the work area nice and clean.

I paid for an Angie's list deal to have dryer vent cleaned for $79 . When they came they said to really do it well I would need to purchase an additional service for an additional $20-30. I feel like it was a bait and switch and while I paid for it, it made me angry. And it still seems to be not completely cleaned out.

Nick's Chimney Service came out on one of the coldest days of the year to replace the cap. I was worried about animals and weather. They were quick to respond, quick to come out to the house (2 days), totally reasonably priced, really nice and clear on the phone, and the work was excellent. I will absolutely hire them again for the more significant chimney work I'll need next summer. Highly recommended!

It went great. We have a two story home with a steep shake roof and some chimney cleaners will not work on our roof. Nick arrived on time and did an excellent job. We have used Nick for several years and he does the best job of anyone we have used.

Matt did a fantastic job! He came out to do an inspection and found the main chimney needed cleaning and repair. He took pictures to show me and explained exactly what was going on and what would be needed to get the problems corrected. Matt went above and beyond to get the work done that day which gave me great peace of mind because everything had been in really bad shape. When he was finished he took more pictures to show me what had been done. I plan to have him back in the spring to check this chimney again and do work on another one.

Matt came out and gave an estimate for the repair.($125 for estimate which he notified me of prior to coming out so it was expected.) We needed approximately 20 bricks replaced on our chimney but the lining was still in good shape . Our home is 110 years old. The chimney has not had much if any maintenance done on it. Some bricks were spalling (not sure if this is the proper term for bricks starting to split and flake), and some of the flashing had been pulling away (due to debris and age) from the chimney and we were experiencing some water coming into the house. Matt checked the weather and determined temps would be warm enough to allow proper drying and arranged to come out to do the repair the following Tuesday. We have three large dogs, so I was a bit concerned about having a workman around the dogs and in and out of the house. When Matt arrived, we introduced him to the dogs and the dogs quickly became comfortable with Matt. That means a lot to me as I have found my dogs are a very good judge of character. Matt showed up on time and worked tirelessly. I'm not even sure if he took a break for lunch, if he did it was barely long enough to down a sandwich. Matt originally estimated that the job would take most of the day. He explained that he would not be able to complete the job before it got dark and would need to return the following day to finish. I was concerned about having him work on the roof after dark and preferred he return rather than risk injury. It gets dark here by 4:30 PM so the days are really short. He also stated that whoever originally built the chimney did a good job and that was why he was having some difficulty get some of the bricks replaced. Matt returned the following day and completed the job. He offered a discount for immediate payment, which is always appreciated and so it saved me $100. Matt was professional and kept me appraised of his progress. I felt comfortable with his level of expertise and it was a pleasure doing business.with him. I would hire him again.

Absolutely the best in the business. We had several people out to give estimates on our chimney--Nick was by far the most thorough and professional. Nick was able to explain it to us--other companies wanted 10x the money for things that didn't need to be done.

Nick did an inspection on my Fireplace and Chimney before I bought my new house. It was now time to fix what needed to be done. I have never seen such clean Tuckpointing ever! Alex and Alex were professional, did an excellent job, and left my home and yard spotless! I am extremely impressed! I would recommend for any chimney or fireplace work you need done! And if buying have Nick do the inspection. Some of what he found and today was fixed could have been a fire hazar! Also the work itself comes with a 15 year warranty. I've never heard of THAT before! Very pleasant surprise.

We hired Nick's Chimney Service & Duct Cleaning to do a full fireplace and chimney cleaning. The team of two guys were great to work with and very clean. There was no dust or ashes left over when they were done. I will be calling them again for the next cleaning and may even use them for a duct cleaning.

We are selling our home and one of the conditions of the sale was to repair the chimney and add a cap. I emailed several providers and Nick replied within an hour on a Wednesday evening. He gave me an estimate based on a photo from the inspection. We arranged a time that worked with my schedule. His team arrived early and were very polite and communicated well. There were some additional repairs needed that weren't in the photo from the inspection. Nick himself joined his group to re-*****. Nick told me exactly what was minimally needed to meet the requirements of the home sale and the pricing impact. I agreed and his crew went to work. They were done within a couple hours and the chimney looks great. I was very happy with Nick and his crew. The repairs were done quickly on a schedule that worked for me. This process took a good deal of stress out of our home sale.

This was a good experience. I had a rough idea of what the services would cost and I was able to provide photos of the required work for Nick via email. He got back to me same day with the quote and they told me the work would be done as soon as the weather allowed. It turned out that there was a warm day the following Tuesday and the appointment was made. They showed up at the appointed time and did the work as quoted. They made no mess, did a good job and were easy to deal with.

They did the work quickly & it looks fine. Their communication leaves a lot to be desired though. The frustration in trying to get ten to call back taints the whole experience.

They did a great job. There were 2 technicians that came out to my house to service a wood burning fireplace and chimney. They were quick and efficient. Explained all the work that needed to be completed to ensure the fireplace was safe and usable. I know the technician was honest, as he explained all the repairs that needed to be done and why, and it was most important that the fireplace was safely functioning.
