Description of Work: They came twice. Once to inspect the fireplace and later to fix the chimney crown, which had cracks. Weather postponed the crown job twice. Chris, who handled it was SO conscientious and thoughtful about keeping me informed. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat!

Description of Work: Two young men showed up at my door on time. They performed routine chimney cleaning service including checking all aspects of chimney function. They were very thorough and cleaned up nicely. One of the men had a lot of experience but the other was very new. Overall they did a very good job and I would recommend them highly!

Description of Work: They were great. Weekend service was no problem. Punctual, professional, explained the process clearly. Agreed to install new rain caps that I had on hand for no charge. The work was efficient, clean, and well done. I will use them again, and would recommend them. Description of Work: They arrived early (which was OK) and were neat, organized, and efficient. They cleaned and inspected the chimney and fire box and pointed out a few things with the firebox mortar that would need to be fixed in a few years. Would definitely recommend them!

Description of Work: Our chimney has been chipping, dropping large chunks of brick on to the deck. On Oct. 12th I decided that I had to have something done to stop this before winter because I am getting my house ready for sale. The temperature was dropping quickly and I was afraid it would get too cold to apply sealant. I called Nick's on the morning of Oct. 12th and after explaining the problem, Nick agreed to come and apply sealant that same afternoon, which he did exactly as he promised, charging exactly what he had estimated the work would cost.

 + -1 moreI was very impressed with him. Nick did a quote over the phone and stuck to it even though he had difficulty getting the cap on. He also went way above and beyond in looking at my wood burning stove. It was in the house when I bought it and I had one bad experience and never tried it again. He explained it all to me and since he said the chimney is safe, I will begin using it. He never charged me for it or even mentioned what a great deal he had given me. I respected that! I was worried about dirt in the house and there was no evidence he was even there other than the fireplace was cleaner than when he came!! He also found some other work that needed to be done on the chimney and told me about it and the problem of leaving it like it is. He did not try and sell me anything more than I asked for. When I decide to do the other work, I will call Nick.
Description of Work: I needed my chimney cleaned and a new cap put on that had blown off during a storm. I had already purchased a cap intending to do it myself. When I called, I told them I had one and he said, "Great, we will just use that!" I was very surprised at his response. Too often you hear that you have to buy from that company or they won't do the work. They cleaned my chimney, fireplace inside, put on a new cap. The cap did not fit exactly, but they found a way to get it to work. While there he saw I had a wood burning stove and asked if he could take a look at it. He checked the chimney and stove for safety and when I told him I never used it and why, he taught me how to use it.

 + 0 moreWe first used him to inspect a chimney on a house we were thinking of buying. We were impressed with the thoroughness of the inspection. We hired him to clean out 3 chimneys on our home. We were having trouble with one with smoke backing up into the room. He evidently identified the problem & had the materials with him to correct the problem. I highly recommend.
Description of Work: Cleaned 3 chimneys. Also checked a fireplace for smoke backing up & fixed it. Sealed some flashing around chimney.
