Nick's Chimney Service & Duct Cleaning

We are very happy the service that Nick provided. He was early to the appointment, was conscientious of our clean home, and had a nice conversation with us about our fireplace. Overall we were impressed and would think to work with Nick in the future.

Cleaned up afterward. The shop vac that was used smelled smoky and made the living room smell smoky, no dust though.

Nick worked with our realtor (we were several states away at the time) to inspect two separate chimneys and determine condition and need for cleaning. Nick showed up on time, was very responsive to what we needed, full of information, and determined the chimneys did NOT need cleaning or further repair or work. He charged very minimally for the work he did. Excellent experience and we will continue to use Nick for annual inspections and to refer if friends ask for the name of a great chimney service!

It went perfect. Nick was on time, did his work cleanly and efficiently. When he was done, he answered some questions I had about the flue and also made some suggestions based on some observations while he did the outside inspection. He wasn't pressuring about it but did let me know in plain terms what was wrong and his suggestion to take care of it. Overall, great experience.

I bought a deal through the newspaper for chimney cleaning. They did a great job! They were prompt in contacting me and showed up promptly. They were thorough and quick in their work. I asked about cleaning the dryer vent for an extra charge because it had never been cleaned. They looked at it and then did it for free. I'm very impressed and would use them again.

We were in the midst of selling our home and closing that same week. Our buyer was requesting us to fix our fireplace and chimney after another company deemed it "unsafe to use", and quoted us at $2,500 to fix! I called Nick for a second opinion. He was prompt, professional, and provided excellent customer service! He saved the day with quick service and a fair price!

Great guys. They arrived on time, did the work and checked to make sure satellite service was back. Very happy.

The guys doing a boiler tune-up told me our chimney was clogged and the boiler & hot water heater were actually venting to the basement. They told me that we needed a chimney sweep asap and that they'd have to turn the boiler off until it could vent properly for the obvious health & safety issues. It was a cold day with a few inches of snow on the roof so I thought $$$ and a long cold wait. Turns out I was wrong on both counts. I called Nick who said he could be at our place within 2 hours. And he was, arriving with a merry band of 3 other men. They got right to work, unclogged the chimney, even vacuumed out the muck that had backed up on the inside of the boiler and restarted it for me, all in what seemed to be no more than 15 or 20 minutes. I thought it was going to cost a lot more than I was charged. I'm pretty sure I was visited by St Nick and a few oversized goodly elves. Merry Christmas to me!

I have/had a mysterious water issue surrounding my chimney in my 1940s house. After a season of worry about what was the problem and just how many thousands of dollars it would take to fix it, I finally (at the last minute due to winter's approach) called for professional help. I gotta say that Nick was very professional on the phone and more than willing to help out if he could. I am only sorry that our schedules didn't match up. I have the feeling that he gives great and knowledgeable service. I can see why he gets such high reviews on Angie's List.

Nick and his crew were on time, polite and informative. I feel they did a thorough job and were easy to work with.

Called and talked with Nick - scheduled appt for Sat 11am. Was told to print 10% coupon off Angies site and present at time of service. On Sat I got a call around 10:45am letting me know they were running behind and would arrive at 11:30am. When they arrived they went to the top of the chimney but said unable they are unable to clean it that way because the cap is cemented on. They said they prefer to clean top down but that in this case they would clean it bottom up. They worked quickly using a shop vac and when they were done they told me they were out of work receipts but that someone would drop one off on Monday. Later on Sat I looked more closely at my fire place only to discover that they did indeed clean out the fire place but didn't bother to vacuum the dust and cob webs on the screen and doors. I think for $150 dollars they could have spent another minute and vacuumed those areas also.

I can't say enough good about this company. I called in the morning expecting to have to wait several days but Nick said he was in the general area of my house so he would run by there the same afternoon and install the screen and cap on my chimney. Since I am working with a tight schedule because I am selling my house, Nick's prompt serivce was much appreciated. He did the work to my satisfaction and left an invoice for me in my mailbox. I would recommend this company with no hesitation.

They came on time, got right to work, and finished up in good order. They inspected all the important parts of the fireplace and chimney and noted as such on the receipt. I'm happy with the work.

Due to being out of town, I could not get the time before the coupon was done. Nick told me to not worry about it, he would honor the coupon. Joe called me on the day and said they could come a little earlier if I was available, which I was. They were very nice, and it did not take very long. Joe told me that the chimney was not very dirty, and was in good condition. At some time within the next few years, I might want to get some of the top repair, which is coming loose with the wind.

Nick showed up at, as requested, at 7:30 am and had the job completed in a very short time period. He took before/after pictures, so I could see the work performed, and also looked at other parts of my roof to answer an unrelated question. Nick was very professional and I'd hire him again. |

I had a local guy come in to evaluate the chimney in the house I just bought. He told me I needed a new insert, chimney repair, etc. Then he swept my chimney (I thought) and charged me over $200 after being there 45 minutes. He said not to even think of using my chimney in the condition it was in. We decided to get a 2nd opinion. Nick came in with his crew. He said the chimney had not even been cleaned (the week before!), but more importantly, the chimney was in good condition and no major repairs or inserts were needed. Nick could have sold me all kinds of stuff based on what I had been told, but was totally honest. He cleaned it good, charged less than the first guy and was on his way. We have been enjoying it since. This is how you do repeat business. Highly recommended.

It went well. Seemed honest and not out to sell me things I did not need. One of the two caps on the chimney (not the new one) did blow off later, possibly because he did not re-secure it well enough after the inspection. However, he said he will not only re-attach it, but will replace it with another he has available. That is to be done soon.

Great. I let them know upfront that I'd bought a deal on Angie's List (for a $110 chimney cleaning and inspection) that had expired, but they said they'd honor it. Two guys showed up on time, one got to work cleaning, the other hopped on the roof to check out the chimney top (which I knew needed repair). He took pictures of the areas needing repair, explained the fixes, and gave an estimate. The interior cleaning was tidy and pretty quick, cleaned up completely, and even took time to show me how to use my fireplace properly (just bought the house and my first time using a woodburning fireplace). Very happy and will call them in the future.
