MULLENS POOL MAINTENANCE

Things were pretty rocky from the start. We travel a lot so we were counting on him to take care of the pool. After two weeks, we noticed tons of debris in the pool and realized that he had not been cleaning it. We also noticed that he was not adding chlorine sticks to the skimmers so the chlorine was depleting from the pool. I mentioned this to Derek and he said that he would make sure to do both things. Another week passed and we came home to a completely cloudy pool. There were no sticks in the skimmers, the skimmers were full of junk, the pump basket was full of junk. I called Derek. He took a water sample to Valley Pools and the results showed that every chemical was extremely out of whack and we had no stabilizer in the pool.. Valley Pools Is recommending adding chemicals daily for the next two weeks in order to resolve the water probelm. Instead of talking to me directly, Derek sent me a text message saying that he could not meet my husbands requirements to resolve this issue and recommending calling another provider. So he essentially neglected my pool until the water turned extremely unbalanced, then did not want to take the time to fix it, so he quit on me while I was out of town, leaving me in a lurch to find another provider. He did not even take the time to tell me what was wrong with the water. I had to call Vally Pools to get the report myself. Not very professional all around.

He is a likeable young man but was somewhat unreliable. He would say he would do things which he would eventually get to but he did not get to them within the time frame that he identified. My gravest complaint with him is the fact that his end product is okay as far as the servicing but he just was not timely.

After going through many pool services with no end of problems and lack of customer service Valley Pools put us in touch with Derek Mullen. For many years Derek has serviced our pool personally (does not send untrained people as many companies do) on a weekly basis. He also comes when we are out of town to insure nothing is going wrong while we are gone. Frankly our pool has been clear with maybe two exceptions for many years (as long as Derek was servicing our pool) and those exceptions were weather related. He is prompt with communication ie returning or answering calls (very rare in this business) and flexible with any changes in schedule or if you want him prior to a special event. Derek also provides our chemicals and charges the same as if you went and got them yourself. Derek is professional and has become a friend over the years and I highly recommend using his pool service. I had tried many services until I found Mullens and none compared. His cost per week is about average if not a bit under what most charge.

I have used Derek Mullen for about 4-5 years now and with few exceptions my pool looks great for the entire summer. Derek is responsive to calls with any concerns and questions and is very nice to do business with. It is so nice not to have to worry about the pool...I never do anything...just swim. I highly recommend him.

HAVE BEEN THROUGH A FEW COMPANIES FOR POOL SERVICE. GOT DEREK THROUGH VALLEY POOL, AND HAVE BEEN VERY SATISFIED SO FAR THIS SUMMER. VERY POLITE, PUNCTUAL AND ACCOMMODATING. POOL HAS BEEN NEAR PERFECT. LEAVES CHECKLIST LISTING EVERYTHING DONE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR STRESS-FREE POOL SERVICE (MANY ARE NOT!) GIVE DEREK A TRY. I ALSO CHECK MANY REFERENCES AND TWO OTHER COMPANIES BEFORE MAKING MY DECISION.

DEREK WAS VERY POLITE, INFORMATIVE AND HELPED ME GO STEP BY STEP THROUGH THE PROCESS NEEDED TO GET THE POOL TO A PLACE IT COULD BE CLOSED FOR WINTER. IN THE SPRING HE'LL COME OUT TO CLEAN/MAINTAIN THE POOL FOR $35 + CHEMICALS PER TIME. MADE THE EXPERIENCE VERY PAINLESS AND WAS VERY REASONABLY PRICED.
