I have been working with Merry Maids since 1986. I have used corporate and franchise offices throughout these years. It was obvious to me to hire Merry Maids once again when I moved to Minnesota. When I hired Merry Maids it was a corporate office. It was, I believe last summer, when a it became a franchise. As time went on regardless of corporate or franchise, the cleaning that was done in my home diminished. I will let you know that at the time of hiring (2015-2016) we did have several animals. I completely understood why some of the work in my home was not done at 100%. This was specific to my animals. However, as time went by and the workers (which were rarely the same week to week) were less than adequate. I came home on several occasions to check up on them. As weeks progressed I was there to remind them of several items they were missing. The last straw was in November of 2016 when I came home to find barely any dusting done, our recently redone wood floor streaked, dust on the mirrors, fans, windowsills, streaks on our stainless appliances. The work was not adequate. I literally had to finish cleaning my house. I had to continually remind the cleaners do not use a dirty mop on the floors please. Do not use a dirty rag on my appliances. The only thing that was done half way decent was the bathroom (and believe me there was room for improvement ). The list of what they were supposed to do was complete but not up to par. Every week, I felt as if I was giving this company over $100.00 to clean my house and getting nothing in return. The note that was supposed to be left weekly letting me know what was deep cleaned was not left. Frankly, there was no deep cleaning done on a weekly basis. Dusting was around lamps and books. How difficult is it to lift a lamp or a book? How difficult is it to use clean mop heads and vaccums that actually work well. To say the least I am disappointed in this company that I have been using for 30 plus years. I have NEVER been disappointed with Merry Maids before. I know that there are cleaners who actually like cleaning homes. I also know that people utilize a cleaning company because they are to busy to do this themselves. Generally speaking, its not how the homeowners would clean their own homes but at least its getting done. I would NOT recommend this company now or in the future.
