+ -1 moreWish I could give them an A+! I was very impressed with Todd's expertise and customer service. We will definately be going back to Legend for future testing needs. We wanted to test some building materials from our 1920's house for asbestos before doing demolition. I called and consulted Todd over the phone on costs and sample collection before bring the samples over. Their rates for bulk analysis of asbestos were very economical in my opinion ($35 for 1 sample or $25/sample if multiple samples w/ 3-5 day turn) with options to pay for expedited results if you don't have time to wait ($50 for next day/sample or $100 for same day). When I arrived, he came out to talk through the samples and was very knowledgeable about building materials and which were likely or unlikely to contain asbestos. We had some multi-layered plaster and Todd explained how it was constructed and which layers, if any, were the most likely to contain asbestos. We dropped our sample off at 8am and requested next day results since we planned to start demo. We had results later the same day.

It went fine. We are in Colorado and they did the whole process in Minnesota so we weren't there. I didn't hear any bad feedback. They did it quickly, which was good. They got everything done when they said they would get it done. It didn't take longer than we expected. They were able to get out to our house pretty quickly. It was extremely easy to work with them. I didn't have any issues with them. Their price was about what other companies would charge. I haven't been in the house since they did the work.

+ -1 moreIt went extremely well. Cheryl is highly knowledgeable and endorsed by the N.I.S.T. for her expertise on asbestos. She took the time to explain a number of issues to me thoroughly and clearly. Todd tested our samples thoroughly and offered test results very quickly. They offer a discount on quantity of samples. Legend is a joy to work with. With the prices and turnaround times they're able to offer, there's no reason not to find out what's in your old home.
Description of Work: Cheryl Sykora advised on asbestos-containing materials and how to tell if an asbestos abatement company is legit. Todd Georgi tested half a dozen samples of materials from our home for asbestos.

+ -1 moreVery well we had just had to send them two samples and then they sent us the results back really quick. It is very good. The last time I contacted them probably was a month ago. It is very quick turnaround time like a couple of days. It is $35 per sample so it was $70 total. We have linoleum and then the paper backing so we have to send a sample of each. They send a really detailed analysis to total content of the samples so it was good.

Their website was lacking in information about how to bring in samples yourself. When I emailed to get more information, they responded quickly and answered my questions. The turn around time for results was also quick (within a day).

+ -1 moreI am closing on a property this Friday! After walking through the house a second time, I noticed 2 asbestos wrapped pipes. I absolutely freaking out! Thinking to myself, if it was in once place it had to be everywhere. I went back to the house to get same samples. I sampled just about everything I thought could contain asbestos. I brought in about 10 samples. THANKS to Todd, I only ended up having to test 1 because some were able to be ruled out. He didn't think the popcorn ceiling contained it but I wanted to know for sure, so I had it tested. And he was right, it did not contain asbestos. I had my results within an hour of leaving their office! Todd was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me. I will definitely be a repeat customer and will refer him to all friends and family!

Description of Work: We had Todd come out o our house again (used him last Spring for humidity testing in walls) and do lead testing with XRF gun (I think that is what it is called) and to do humidity testing. As usual it was a great experience and we feel like we got very good value for our money. We have considered buying those home test kits but when checking them online they are not considered to be reliable by the EPA. Also the kit with the swabs cost 10 to 15 dollars for 6 of them, and you can only use one swab per sample area, and we wanted the whole house tested; all walls, ceilings, trim, doors, windows etc. So for the money we paid and the amount of RELIABLE tests we were able to do, it was a very good value for money. Please note, for exact amount of lead paint in the sample tested I think you need to send it to the lab, the XRF will only confirm presence and indicate level of lead in the sample, not the exact amount. We have just done a huge remodel and feel like with most people we hired money is the driver and quality and customer satisfaction are not. Here we felt we got good quality and value for a reasonable price. Also dealing with Todd is always a pleasure since he is reliable, professional and friendly. Also as a mother of small kids, it was a good investment for peace of mind since we did not have any high levels of lead in any indoor areas. It will also save me time when stripping paint or sanding since we do not have to be as careful as I would have been if I would still have suspected lead paint but not known for sure.

+ -1 moreDespite the nature of the service (asbestos and mold not most fun topics) it was a great experience and Todd was great to work with. The Mn Dept of Health had a number of laboratories that were certified for Asbestos and Lead paint. I called around to a few of them, including Legend Technical Services. Todd at Legend was very helpful in explaining the test method used, time it would take to get results and pricing, including discounts for submitting several samples, which I felt was good service. He was very patient listening to questions and providing answers. We picked Legend much due to this contact, but also pricing and proximity. When my husband turned in the samples, Todd came up to look at the samples and saved us 40 dollars by telling us straight up that one sample was mold. He got back to us the next day with results for no extra fee (unlike some of the other companies I called) - no asbestos in any of the 3 samples we submitted which was almost too good to be true. We have both decided that we will use Legend again.
