Description of Work: I saw that Lawn By The Yard had a high rating on Angie's List. I was going to be out of town for most of October and wanted the gras mowed and leaves cleaned up. I called on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and left a message asking for a call back. I even said that I had seen the company name on Angie's List. I never received a call back.

Description of Work: Service was for lawn mowing. The mowers themselves were punctual and did a very good job, although they scalped the lawn in some areas. However, the person in the office was very unresponsive when I repeatedly asked for periodic billings so we could budget for payments. When we finally did receive a bill, it was for the entire amount and we had to delay payment. Because of their unresponsiveness thruout the summer, I did not pay an additional 10%, as the bill requested, when I paid the bill in full on 11-7-14.

 + 0 moreThanks to Angie's List, we were lucky to learn about Lawn By the Yard. Nick came out quickly to give us an estimate for lawn mowing and to discuss additional landscaping projects. His price was reasonable and he was able to fit us into their schedule within a short amount of time. Austin, who mows our lawn, does a great job. We find it very pleasant to work with both Nick and Austin. I look forward to considering Lawn By the Yard for additional landscaping projects in the future.

 + 2 moreNick did a great job! His first concern was always to make me happy. He always answered his phone. He offered great landscaping advice, lawn care and plant/tree care tips. He helped me stay within my budget, and never tried to sell me anything that I didn't want. The tree he planted is beautiful! The rock and edging looks great. I would definately recommend Nick for any landscaping jobs! I plan on hiring him again for my next project.
Description of Work: Nick put river rock and edging around the back three sides of my house. He removed a small dead tree, and transplanted sod from another part of the yard to where the dead tree was. He planted a maple tree in the back yard.

 + 1 moreAfter talking with a couple of landscaping companies we chose Lawn by The Yard. We really liked Nick when we met him. He had a lot of knowledge of landscaping as well as boulderscaping. He took time to listen to us and made lots of suggestions. He really wanted to work WITH us. The landscaping came out wonderful, we're very happy we chose him to do the work.

 + 1 moreNick's company takes care of our yard maintenance on a weekly basis from May through October. They mow the lawn and edge around the sidewalks and plant beds. They also blow leaves etc. off the deck and sidewalk. They do a Spring and Fall fertilization/weed treatment. They also take care of the fall leaves. We have had good experiences with Nick and his crew. They are quick and dependable.
