The price with the Big Deal couldn't be beat. They are very punctual, professional and knowledgeable about their product and installation. The installation took about a day and they left the house without any mess. We are very happy with the finished product so far. Would definitely use them again.

Tom did a really nice job. We initially found him through a Angie's roof inspection deal. He was good at explaining what he did, he's been doing this for a long time. He works with crews he's had for over a decade. They arrived at 6:30 am (one fly in the ointment - we hadn't expected them until 7, and I wasn't up yet), and were completely done with the roof by 5 pm. There must have been about 8 guys working together. Tom has his own dumpster trailer, which he brought in and took away the same day, he had the materials delivered the day before. He was there at the beginning of the day and the end, and I think he stopped by during the day too. There were a couple things he wasn't expecting (part of out roof is over an addition and hadn't been vented properly, and so needed a different treatment), and he made the alterations at no extra charge. The gutters were done several days later, and the gables perhaps a week or two later, by different crews, who were also efficient. Our neighbors were very impressed, and we're going to pass his info on to them.

I had a very good experience right from the start. Tom Halbur explained in detail what the project involved. He was extremely knowledible about how my roof needed to be vented to prevent future issues. He also went above and beyond what any other roofer said they would do. Tom did everything he proposed to do and then some. He kept me well informed of the timeline when the weather was going to delay us. This is my lake home and very often when I have worked with other venders up north I've had problems with them showing up on time or at all. The crew was excellent, very hard workers and there when they said they would be. Tom was also with them working and supervising. I would highly recommend Lake Region Home Improvement and would use them again for other projects.

WOW!.... This was one of the best experiences we've ever had when it comes to remodeling. We interviewed at least five (5) contractors to install our windows and without a doubt, this company was the best. We knew when we first met Tom that he would be the one hired. Aside from the fact that the overall cost was significantly better than the others, Tom's approach and overall professional representation of himself and his company was outstanding. He was the first one on the job site (8:00 AM) and the last one to leave (7:30 PM). I work around a lot of contractors on a daily basis and I can honestly say that I've never seen a crew work as hard and as dedicated as these folks. They never stopped working. They were always moving and doing something! Tom told us when we signed with him that the price he quoted would not change... "no matter what we discover when doing the work." He was a man of his word. The 11 windows that we replaced were at least 20 years old. They were not very good to begin with and workmanship to install them was poor. Tom and his crew had to rebuild the framing structure for all 11 locations. This was certainly not what he or we expected. He stuck to his original cost and honestly, we should have offered him more. If you are thinking about windows, or any project for that matter, I would highly recommend hiring Lake Region Home Improvement!!!

Excellent - I went on Angie's list because its so hard to find really good help or trust companies and their promises these days. Found 3 good ones on your (Angies) roof references and interviewed each. Tom was punctual, professional and most knowledgable. His quote was fair and I felt like I was getting a superior product. I looked up the products of all 3 roofers were recommending, and Tom's product had very good reviews, solid top quality product - Timberline. Just as advertised the job was done on time and I paid after the work was done, proving his "satisfaction guaranteed". I also had a small drip piece I noticed missing on the side of the garage, mentioned to Tom and He came over and replaced himself. After looking at it closer, it was most likely was missing before the project started, but he replaced it no questions asked. Great service by a small business owner - Just the business I want to work with and trust with my big jobs. Bottom line - I will us Tom (Lake Region Exteriors Inc) again and refer him to friends and family. Thank you Angie's list! Doubt I would have found him without your service. That is why I am a member - I get to write nice reviews on companies that deserve it!

What a relief! I finally have a new roof, and it looks perfect. The shingles are spaced perfectly, even where they meet over the top of the gable, Everything was completed exactly as promised. They cleaned up after themselves, Tom made the final walk around to make sure that it was clean. When they didn't need all the shingle squares, he issued a credit. A person always wonders if you will actually get the quality of workmanship you want and are paying to receive. I happy to report that I did.

Tom was very friendly and professional. He did a great job tiling the shower which included accent tiles and shelving. I would use Tom again in the future.

It went very well. Builder and his crew members were very helpful, kept area clean after work is done and replaced rotten wood around the old windows.

Working with Tom from Lake Region was a great experience. He gave us a quote for each part of the job - and stuck to his price - no matter what! We paid exactly what we expected to pay, which was great. His workmanship was superb. The crew that he used to install the vinyl siding was truly second to none. I would without a doubt recommend Tom to anyone - without question!

Showed up on a Saturday afternoon and showed us the problem and explained why we probably needed more that just caulking. Gave us an estimate on a total repair.

He came early, which worked out for us but coming early is as bad as coming late sometimes. He did give us a report on the condition of our roof and put something around our vents and pipes to hopefully stop our leak until we can get the roof redone. He was professional and courteous and had a brochure of roof shingles so we could look through it and then call him when we are ready to replace the roof. Absolutely no sales push or pressure to make a decision at that moment, I liked that. I will call him back when we are ready to proceed with our new roof.

Had to make a different apt. as had a personal problem. it worked out fine. Had one more worker and they did a very good job and it did not take that long. Cleaned up well and it looks good

We are very pleased with the bathrom remodel that Tom (Halbur-owner} provided for us. Canvas tarps were put on the floors where the workers walked, plastic hung in the doorway so the dust stayed in the bathroom while tearing out the tile and counter top.His crew left our place clean. Tom went out of his way to keep the project on schedule and kept to the bid. He made extra trips to assure the the drywall mudding was faultless - end result perfect. We really like our new bathroom and enjoyed working with Tom. We would recommend him and would hire him again.

He seemed very professional, personable and knowledgeable. I would recommend him at this point.

We had called the company for service and set up an appointment for last Monday 8/5/13. He was a no call, no show. We did however receive a visit and a follow up on Wed 8/7/13. He left a voicemail stating that our roof was too steep to perform the maintenance.

It went great for us. Unfortunately, we had old windows that required chiipping away of old wood around the windows, so it took them longer than expected. But they worked late to get the job done in the committed two days time. Tom is great to work with -- and his crew worked well, left the place clean. Then we had one window that had an issue, but Tom came out & fixed it right away. I will call Tom & Lake Region Home Improvement again when I need work done on my home.

Exceptionall! Tom was such a perfect guy for the job. Helped me understand what each process was and how much it would cost. Waited for me to get 4 other bids before he would take the job, wanted to make sure he could give me the best rate. My roof was a nightmare, a gutter had fallen off due to deteriorating roof. 4 layers of shingles, tall 2 story house, lots of valleys and very steep. Got the job done in two days. Very friendly and honest. Stuck to his bid even though numerous complications came up. His crew was very quick and cordial and worked very hard! Trust is an important thing in the construction business and he sure has mine!! I had mentioned something about my windows when he came over to go over the project when it was finished and he offered to take a look and proceeded to tell me why my windows were not working right, and how one would fix the bad installation job. Didn't try to sell me anything, just wanted to help while he was there, genuine care for his customers! Would recommend to anyone!!! Great owner and crew! My roof looks superior to many I have been noticing, very detailed work!

I called because my roof was leaking in two places during a morning rain storm. Tom was able to come that evening to look at the roof. Unfortunately it turned out that my roof needed to be replaced. A number of shingles were not properly sealed to each other and the nails had gone through. He showed me pictures, talked me through the issues, and explained my options in detail. His pricing for the new roofing was good. I ended up having another contractor do the work mainly because I had insulation and a bathroom fan added at the same time and that company could do all three.

I paid for ice dam removal, but when I called to arrange removal of ice dams in several areas, I was told that they were too busy and that they were passing their Angie's list clients on to another company. They stated that the discount would still hold. However, the other company stated that they used a hot air blower as opposed to scraping. Basically that involved 4 guys and at least an hour of service and would require me to spend over twice what I had already put in. They ended up scraping my one area of greatest concern and claimed that the rest of the roof was fine. Consequently, I now have major ice dams in the 2 other areas that were of concern. 1/2

Tom did me a favor recently. We had some new appliances coming and we have a swinging kitchen door that we could not figure out how to take off. So I called and asked him if he could help me with that. I told him I would pay him for it but he told me not to worry about it; he said he was in the neighborhood and he had just done my roof so he came over later in the afternoon and within 30 minutes had the door off and did not charge me. I thought that was pretty cool because I did not expect him to do that. He is a really nice guy; I consider him to be a friend. He is very respectful to my wife and is nice to her. I have three dogs and he is nice to my dogs. He is timely, courteous and is a very reputable guy. He is focused, professional and dedicated and gave me a better deal on my roof than three other contractors; by about $500. My roof looks beautiful and he did it fast. He responds within the same day; if I call him he usually responds within the next hour. If he says he is going to be here; he gets here; he is very top-notch.

Tom was very professional and personable. I paid for two hours of service. I received about 1 hour of actual repairs and 1 hours of advice and preparation of the estimate. Overall I was satisfied and would recommend to others.

Adviced me about replacing some more stuff to prevent but I wanted to do just what I paid for and he was happy to do it

Lake region did a nice job replacing my roof and gutters. Tom was very responsive and returned calls quickly. He was helpful with suggestions without being pushy. He did not take offense or try to talk me out of only taking part of a suggestion regarding the roof vents. The crew working on my house showed up 15 minutes early on the day the roof job was scheduled. They were just completing the cleanup when I arrived home at the time Tom predicted they would be done. When the forecast changed to include rain, Tom made sure the new gutters were installed in time so I wouldn't have to worry about getting water in my basement. When discussing gutter covers Tom did not try convince me the most expensive option was the only way to go. In fact, he presented samples of several options in several price ranges. Tom seems to take a lot of pride in making his customers happy. He followed up on my calls and questions promptly. When he stopped by to follow up on a question I had he took a photo to verify what I was seeing so I wouldn't haveto go up on the roof myself. Tom is so confident in the work he does that he didn't require payment upfront but brought the bill by in person to make sure I was satisfied with the job before requiring payment.

He showed up right on time and worked very quick to measure and give us a quote. We set a date and time and he and his crew showed up right on time. The crew worked fast to tear off the old roof and did a great job putting down the new roof. When they were done, clean up was amazing and my yard and driveway looked better than when they showed up. Tom had great communication and always got back to my questions quickly. He also let me throw some of my basement demo materials away and hauled them to the dump for me. Great work, great price, great communication.
