As usual this company has dropped the ball. I had long email and phone conversations with them about my negative Angie's List review and they claimed they would fix the problem and replace my water filters at no cost. I also explained concern to them about our water softener not working and they had already had someone come out to tell us that it needs fixing but they don't have the "parts" with them and would them next time. The day they come in it is a new the service man who had no knowledge of our Angie's list dispute or their previous visit here. Once again he did not have the right parts to fix our water softener. Before he left he asked me how I was going to pay for the replaced water filters. I told him they were to be replaced for free due to my Angie's List dispute. He had no knowledge of this so he called one of his managers who had no knowledge of this either. They had a brief conversation and just let me have the filters for free even though they had no documentation of knowledge of this even though I discussed this with them many times. The service man told me he would call us in a few days about the water softener "parts" that need to be replaced. As usual they did not follow through and now I am going to have to call them again to remind them about my situation. It is nothing but phone tag with this company. As usual this company is very disorganized, unresponsive, and couldn't care less about its customers. To summarize my whole experience with Crystal Canyon Water/Just Water: I have been a customer with Crystal Canyon Water/Just Water for almost 5 years. We had nothing but problems with Crystal Canyon Water/Just Water since the beginning. First, when our filters clogged it was hard to get a hold of them to replace them and the replacements were expensive. The replacements were Ecowater brand, proprietary so we had to go through Crystal Canyon Water/Just Water to get them and pay their inflated price. Second, they installed a shoddy, illegal valve on our plumbing for the water filter that began to leak in the summer of 2009. We didn't notice the leak until an estimated 3 days after it started. We didn't know Crystal Canyon Water/Just Water had an emergency hotline for this kind of situation so we ended up paying for a plumber to come out on Sunday and pay a premium to get it fixed. The leaking water warped our kitchen floor and insurance would not cover it because it was a slow leak. When I called Crystal Canyon Water/Just Water about it the manager had an attitude, showed disinterest and threatened to void our warranty with them since our Ecowater systems we bought through them were looked at by a separate plumber. After a long discussion they were willing to keep our warranty and willing to come out and fix their problem for $75 with no apology. Third, we had issues with our reverse osmosis filter system clogging too quickly. They said they wanted to correct the problem by having a line installed to our kitchen faucet (which did not receive softened water) but they never showed interest in doing it when they came out and always passed the buck on getting that done. Forth, we began having problems with the water softener. It was not softening our water correctly. The water was remaining hard and salt was clumping and clogging often in it. When a technician came out to look at it he said that it needs parts (disks) replaced, but never followed through with getting the parts and coming back. We had to always call them to remind them of our problems, only to have them send their technicians out without prior knowledge of our problems and not have the resources to fix it. Everyone had a slightly different opinion on what was wrong with our systems. Finally, I found out about their negative reviews on Angie's list and other internet sites and realized it was time to take action. I filed an Angie's List Complaint Resolution Process with them asking for full refund of our purchase price with them plus money for all the stress, headaches and damaged floor they caused us. Their counter offer was free replacements of our filters. I let them do that, but left the case open because I am not satisfied with the counter offer. Once again the technician sent out from Crystal Canyon Water/Just Water was clueless about my Angie's list dispute, had no knowledge of our softener problems, and their offer to replace my filters for free in collateral to my complaint. He called the manager to ask about the Angie's list complaint and their offer to give me free filters, the manager he talked to didn't even know about it either, but let us have them for free anyways. He then told me that they will probably contact me in a few days when they receive the parts for the softener, but I should maybe call them, but as usual, they never followed through with their call. I placed a second request through Angie?s list with them to refund my money, the full amount of $5000.00 and they again denied it. I later called them on the phone asking for the general manager, the receptionist refused, claiming: ?he is not in his office today.? I told her to give me my money back. After the second Angie?s list request, they didn?t get it through their head to cancel the appointment I made with them to come out to fix the softener. The Crystal Canyon Water/Just Water technicians came out after I had sold their existing Ecowater softener and filter systems and got Water Doctor?s new systems. I basically told him to beat it, tell the company I am looking into pressing legal charges and I am sick of their s***. I'm looking into maybe taking legal action with them now because I think I have good case to win a lawsuit. They installed a shoddy, illegal valve on our plumbing. I still have the valve and I have photos of it taken when it was leaking and our kitchen floor was getting warped by the leaking water caused by their shoddy, illegal valve. I plan on showing this to my lawyer if they don?t give me my money back. I will also be filing complaints of them on all places I can find including the Better Business Bureau, Minnesota Attorney General, Minnesota State Bar Association, Ecowater suppliers, and all service review websites they are listed on such as Angie?s list, yahoo reviews, google reviews, DexKnows, yellowpages.com, etc. They already have many negative reviews, unanimous bad reviews on Angie?s list and many complaints with the Better Business Bureau including a ripoff report that had a hearing in court seen here: http://www.ripoffreport.com/plumbing/crystal-canyon-water/crystal-canyon-water-taking-b3626.htm. If you?re looking for a quality water conditioning company I recommend Water Doctors Water Treatment Company or Puretap Water Systems, LLC. As usual this company is very disorganized and unresponsive. We got an Ecowater Softener and reverse osmosis water filter system installed in our house by Just Water/Crystal Cayon Water. We have always had problems with them and their customer service is rude. One time there was a leak happening at our facet that was caused by a shoddy valve installed by them. We had a plumber not part of their company come out to fix it. It happened on a Sunday and didn't know that Crystal Canyon has an emergency service available on Sundays. We had to pay $300+ to get it fixed. Then Crystal Canyon Water /Just Water had the audacity to threaten to void our warranty because someone else looked at it. They finally agreed to have someone come out to fix their mistakes for $75. When I called and complained about it to their General Manager he was rude with me on the phone, got an attitude, and told me that since a plumber has looked at it our warranty might be void. I would never do business with this service again. If you are looking for a reputable water company in the twin cities try Aquarius Water Conditioning & Plumbing Inc.
Description of Work: They basically ripped us off with an Ecowater water softener system and reverse osmosis filter system. They couldn't care less about their clients. They did shoddy work, were completely incompetent, disorganized, lied, couldn't keep anything straight, and installed a shoddy, illegal valve on our plumbing that leaked and ruined our kitchen floor, which I am now looking into suing them for. UPDATED ON 02/29/2012: Replaced filters and was suppose to fix water softener.

It appears to us the issue stems from the customer not receiving their filter change in a timely manner. Our service records indicate that there was a delay from the factory in receiving our customer’s filters in a timely manner. That should have been better communicated to our customer, and we take full responsibility for that. Even though we pride ourselves in our high level of customer service, we have to admit we can always get better. It is not possible to refund an entire contract on a product that was sold in 2007. We are prepared to give them a complete filter change at no cost for their inconvenience, since that was their issue.

After testing my water, he said he would check to see how much money was left in the research funds and hopefully he would be able to "help me out with my poor water quality". He said that it may be as cheap as $60/mo. to install the proper H2O treatment system, but that I would also need to use the certain products he had as well. He couldn't give me a definite answer as to how long I would be paying $60/mo.. He also asked to get names of other neighbors, so he could check their water quality as well. I did not give him any neighbors' names and the next day(after viewing the 2 reports on Angie's list), I emailed him to say I wasn't interested in pursuing anything his company had to offer.
Description of Work: This company called to set-up a "free" in-home water inspection. After the first guy failed to show-up, they called back to reschedule. They had told me on the phone that the visit would only take 10-20 minutes. The guy that came out was at my house for aprox. 2 hours.

The actual installation went ok. The problems started after that. I was not told before hand that they do not provide owners' manuals, so when I asked for one, I was told, "no". After several futile attempts to contact someone in the company to explain this to me, I finally reached the General Manager who basically just told me what a beautiful, sunny day it was. Finally, the office manager told me they had owners' manuals on site and she would send them to me. She did send one for the reverse osmosis system , but not for the water softener. I'm then told by someone else they have to order the other one from the factory because they don't usually give any to the customer. The reasoning for that is that if there are any problems, they want the customer to contact them directly. I had tried to reach my salesman, Rick Canada, about this to no avail. He did finally call me only to tell me to send in a letter of recommendation for them. That's the only time I've heard from him, even after explaining my frustrations to him about the owners' manual and the total lack of communication and straight stories from the company. He even agreed that the company dropped the ball on the communication/customer service issues, but that hasn't changed anything. I haven't heard from him since (5 weeks ago). I filed a complaint with the MN BBB, but that also hasn't helped, as their response was a non-commital, "we'll attempt to contact the customer about this". One important measure of a company's integrity, ethics (or lack thereof), and concern for the customer is how it deals with problems that occur after the sale. This company fails miserably in that category. They are probably the most unprofessional, non-communicative company I've ever dealt with. "Customer Service" does not exist with them. Even though my system has a 10 year warranty on it, I'm afraid that if I ever needed to call them about a problem, nothing would happen, and they would be as unresponsive as they've been so far. This is NOT a company anyone should want to do business with. The customer will get different stories about a problem, depending on who he/she talks to, phone calls are not returned, and professionalism is totally lacking. Also, be warned that their pricing system is the old sales tactic of quoting a ridiculously inflated price (for me that was $7850) and then working their way down, trying to convince the customer that he/she is getting a great deal at the price that should have been quoted to begin with. I am so sorry I ever did business with this company. Kay Pickett Bloomington, MN
Description of Work: "Just Water", otherwise known as "Crystal Canyon Water" at 153 East Thompson Ave., West St. Paul, MN, installed a reverse osmosis drinking water system and a water softener. This is an update to the response the company gave in Jan. 2011. The response that this company gave is absolutely false. First of all, I don't have an "extensive" service agreement. It is a simple, rather generic agreement. Secondly, I just received my owner's manual about 3 weeks ago. Contrary to what they claim, they never sent me several copies that I either "never received in the mail" or that I "threw out in my junk mail". This response that is totally untrue is another reason that people should avoid doing any business with them. They are manipulative and certainly not honest.

Our service records indicate the equipment that was installed for the member is functioning per company specs and that she does not have an issue with the quality of the product or the servicing of the equipment. We do regret her not receiving an owner’s manual in a timely manner, but they are not typically provided because of the extensive service agreement that she received with her equipment. Prior to this letter we have sent her an owner’s manual on two separate occasions. We are not sure if she is just not receiving them or tossing them as junk mail. We are processing a request for a third manual and we hope she hangs on to this one for her records, Christine Gheron office manager

I got a phone call offering me free water quality testing. They said they are doing a survey of the city water in the area for marketing purposes. The salesman said his job was to test the water. I asked if I would get a sales call from his company and he said yes. I ask him how much the equipment would cost and he wouldn't tell me. He said that he needed to do his job and test my water. He was using scare tactics during his entire test to scare me into buying his product. He finally told that the equipment cost $9,550. This included water filter, air filter, and detergents for dishes and laundry. They want me to be a neighborhood representative for their service. He offered to save me money on my purchase. Taking the cost down to $5,730. I told him I could not afford it. They said that they would give me a check for $648.00 to pay for the first six months of payment. He also informed me that I was not to tell their loan company about this agreement. I kept telling him I couldn't afford it. I ended up signed the papers because he was really upsetting me and couldn't think straight. Also because he would not let me think about it. He wanted to have his team come in that night to install the system. I didn't want them to and he started using scare tactics again. After signing the paper work I realized I didn't want the system and I canceled it the next day.
Description of Work: I was cold called to be sold a water treatment system.
