He took the time to give me info and do an estimate even though, like I said before, he usually does not handle that job. He did a ballpark estimate due to being new to the company.

They were very good. They came out very quickly; we were in a rush for time and they took all the information and were able to come out in a couple of days. They got back with the quote in the time frame that we were looking at.

They were right on with what their estimate was. They were on time and very professional.

My bathroom was thoroughly worn out. There was no shower, only the old clawfoot tub. Water flow has become totally inadequate, and all of the surfaces were ugly. I contacted JET and another contractor in May for bids. Charlie Dana at JET was fantastic to work with, providing advice and helping to brainstorm solutions to various questions on the proposal. I feel that Charlie was very honest and straightforward on things like pricing and how it was determined. The thoroughness of JET's bid made me confident that they understood the project and would be able to compete it on budget and with the desired level of quality. To keep cost down, I performed the demolition myself. This was easily coordinated with JET. The trades on this project were all subcontracted. Everyone JET brought to the house was punctual and pleasant to work with, and able to discuss the details of their work and the tradeoffs of various options. Work progressed in a timely manner. We seldom saw more than one trade per day, which was appropriate to the available space and level of urgency. Work was completed to a high level of quality by the end of August. The one area where I feel JET could have performed better was in the details of completing the tick list, closing out permits, and wrapping the project. This took place over a rather longer period of time than I felt was ideal.

They are very high on quality and they are skilled. They are nice people but I ended up not choosing them because they were a little more expensive than some other estimates.

Highly recommend this company if you want first class work.

Original Post (edited) : The trim on the siding was lifted out of the concrete, leaving a gap above the concrete to where the trim starts. Below the gap there are two holes in the concrete (formerly covered by the trim). My concern is that water gets into these holes, and then into the garage. The threshold is level with the sidewalk (though there is an unfilled gap between the 2x4 and the sidewalk) but you have to step up onto it coming from the garage. It would've been nice if they had put metal over this with a small incline on the inside to prevent tripping. From the inside of the garage you can see a large gap between the new frame and the garage all along the right side of the door. There are a few shims in this 1/2" gap, and nothing else but daylight. The estimate stated that a deadbolt would be installed. There is no deadbolt: just a doorknob which locks. There was no paperwork given to us other than the estimate (no contract, no receipt, no warranties). Update: After seeing my posting, James Jet himself came out to seal the gaps. He also explained that the threshold is treated wood and will never rot, so does not need a metal plate; and the large window in the door leaves no room for a deadbolt. I have re-evaluated the job based on this. Jet Construction does seem responsive: you just need to let them know if you don't like something. I didn't meet him personally, but my wife states that he was very personable and easy to work with.

Their quote was around $14000. They were not pushy and we liked them but we did not go ahead with them. I would consider them in the future.

Everything worked out great. They updated us and called anytime things needed approval, the workers were friendly, and everything was cleaned up quickly when things were dusty or messy. We get lots of compliments from our neighbors on how the porch looks. Thanks JET!

It was excellent. They are a little high in price, but they do quality work and create an outstanding product. They are easy to work with, pay attention to detail. They went out of their way to correct a manufacturer's error on a door as well.

Their bid was too high and we went with someone else.

We were ready to do a straightforward bathroom remodel and had heard good things about JET, including from Angie's List. We called and Richard Dana, the company's owner, came out to meet with my husband and me to go over the project on a Monday. Dana said he would have a bid for us my the end of the week. When we hadn't heard from him by the middle of the following week, we called and left a message. He called back that Thursday and left a message saying that he had thought we were going to make our fixture choices, but that he would go ahead and get us a bid with estimates by early the following week. Again we didn't hear from him for a week and a half. The day we were going to call and tell him we were going a different direction, he called and said he hadn't been able to get to the project and didn't foresee being able to get to it in the future. Odd--we had a reasonable budget for the project and reasonable expectations for contractors, having already done several major remodeling projects with other contractors. Doesn't seem like the kind of economy where contractors want to turn down good projects, but that's what Dana did. Unfortunately, he set us back on month while he figured out he didn't want the work. He won't get our work or our recommendation.

The work they do is very high quality. Dean is one of the best guys I've come across. He comes in less than his estimates. I would not hesitate to refer them to everybody.

It turned out great. I was very happy with them. We had a few discrepancies on price but we worked it out. They were easy to work with and they were all nice guys. I was very pleased and would use them again.

Jet is excellent at coordinating and managing subcontractors. The work proceeded on schedule with little gap time between contractors' arrival or material arrival. Because we were very involved in the design and decorating of the spaces, we purchased many of the additional items such as towel bars, mirrors, lighting fixtures, etc. and the project manager was very good about managing and installing these items as well. Also, since the bathrooms were in a "stack", at their suggestion we roughed in plumbing and electrical for a future bathroom in the attic. This will save us some money on future renovations. We have done many projects with Jet before and since the bathrooms, but this was our most complicated single project. We've worked with Jet since 2002 and they have always done excellent work for us.

They were terrific to deal with and very trustworthy. I have no issue with them being in our home when we aren?t here. I don?t know if they generally do the smaller handyman jobs but we have a nice relationship with them so they did the work for us.

We had them do some small odd jobs while they were in the house and they just added the cost to our total. We only got one other quote but I believe the price was fair. The quality was excellent and they were terrific to deal with. They were great about follow-up and they always got back to us right away. They were here when they were supposed to be and they were great with cleanup and communication.

Project went great. All work was done on time and on budget. Quality of work was excellent. Allowances for materials were adequate. The project was carefully laid out prior to beginning, and communications were excellent throughout the entire project. The project lead was especially pleasant and easy to work with throughout the process, and often had valuable advice on many of the decisions to be made. The subcontractors involved were all very good, and seemed to have strong ties to Jet, which helped keep the project on schedule.

Went great. Communication was always great, they were conscious of costs and sensitive to our budget, work quality was excellent. They also worked very well with designers. Extremely considerate of our schedule, our privacy, and wear-and-tear on the rest of the house. Very easy to talk with. They also provide some nice value-adds, like tips on where to find inexpensive extra's, advice on the most reliable products and some how-to's for project that I undertook myself. Also talked to some of their subcontractors; they have strong relationships with quality people.

They specialize mostly in older Victorian houses. They are honest, very nice and extremely friendly. I can discuss things with them if I am not happy with something and they will take care of it. There were a few things I was not very happy about, but, overall it was a good experience.

Great experience. James the person who did the estimating and the work was very response at returning phone calls. He did the scheduling and came when had said he would. His work was also very good quality.

As I let him in the door, Richard's first question to me was, "What do you do for a living?" Hmmm.... I showed him the job, which was to finish off approximately 500 square feet of unfinished space on the second floor of my home. His next question was, would I be willing to spend $100,000.00? I sort of laughed, and said you have got to be kidding. This was obviously not Summit Avenue, but a small bungalow with an unfinished expansion space on the second floor. The house just isn't worth that much, and come on, we are talking about a relatively small space here. He then needed to know how much I could spend. I said about $30,000-40,000, which others had told me was reasonable. I gave him some plans drawn by a structural engineer and he said he would get back to me with an estimate. I later left phone messages but never heard anything further from Richard. I guess if you have $100,000 to spend on a small remodeling job, perhaps this would be the company for you.

They did excellent work and cleaned up nicely. The young man who came here worked all day and did a lot of extraneous little things included in the cost. They are very good about keeping in contact with the customers and he made sure there were no leaks before leaving. The guy was very pleasant and knowledgeable and he was a pleasure to have around.

Their punctuality and professionalism were first rate. They are very good about documentation.

I BELIEVE HIS NAME WAS JAMES. HE CALLED BACK THE SAME DAY AND ARRANGED TO GET ACCESS AFTER THE WEEKEND. HE WAS TIMELY, EFFICIENT AND GREAT AT KEEPING ME INFORMED ABOUT THE SMALL PROJECT.
