First, Jake came to my house and he put on slippers over his work boots to protect my floors! We discussed and looked at the items on the work order. We talked the extra things I wanted to do and he then gave me a free approximate estimate. I felt very comfortable with Jake so I asked about a bidet for my handicap toilet Jake explained the different types and which styles would work for my bathroom. Jake referred me again to the website where I could select the new products I wanted, they were very elaborate which was really helpful. He took care of the disposal and leaky pipes (Don't Sleep With a Drip, Jake's slogan) HeHehe. He thoroughly cleaned up. We chatted a bit, he let me know another person would be with him next time which I really appreciated. We set an appointment to finish the rest of the work. Jake inspected all the work when done for accuracy. I was very impressed by their cheerful, polite, fast, and clean JOB. They are the plumbers for me! Thanks! Anticipating colder days and nights, I went to my thermostat to start up my radiators. I punched up the temperature, but nothing happened. After messing around with the thermostat a bit, I realized the boiler wasn't responding. I logged into Angie's List and searched for help. I looked for highly rated, local plumbing/heating shops. Jake the Plumber fit the bill, and I remembered hearing the name from a friend who had used Jake the Plumber a while back. I decided to give them a call. I am very glad I did. As soon as I dialed the number, Adam answered the phone, and I told him my situation. He asked several questions and then said he would send a technician right away. Within about 15 minutes, I saw a Jake the Plumber truck pull up. The technician politely reviewed the information and went right to work. A few minutes later, he showed me the problem and explained that the boiler was shot. He quoted me a price for a new one, and I was somewhat skeptical about the cost, which seemed significantly less than I expected. I told him to proceed. He contacted his shop and left, saying he would be right back. Less than half an hour later, I saw the Jake the Plumber truck again, this time with two technicians. They brought in the new boiler, then set about the replacement. The whole process--which included draining the system, disconnecting the old boiler, setting the new one, replacing the connections, reconnecting the wiring, refilling the system, starting up the new boiler, and cleaning up--was highly efficient. The men didn't waste a minute, and before I knew it, my new boiler was fired up and the radiators were making their sweet warming sounds again. The men cleaned up, removed the old boiler and parts, and checked everything twice, including all of the shut-off valves to make sure they worked. They even labeled my pipes. The lead technician reviewed the operation of the new boiler with me, walked me through the work they had done, provided me with recommended service, maintenance, warranty, and contact information. When he asked if I had any questions or concerns, I found that I had none, since he was very thorough. That was it. They were finished. My heat was back, and I was happy. Today, after cross-checking boiler replacement prices from a couple of other sources, I am even happier. Jake the Plumber did a fantastic job--clean, efficient, careful, thorough. In a word: professional. And the price was, as far as I can tell, the best in town. I highly recommend Jake the Plumber for any boiler or furnace related service. Thanks, Jake!

After getting several estimates, we knew right away that Jake was the company we were going to use. They took their time to measure everything and look for possible problems they might run into before the job. The other company that came to look at the job was in and out in 5 minutes. I got the feeling that they didn't want to be there. John provided us with several options and forwarded rebate forms for us to get rebates through Excel and on our taxes. He also gave us pricing on a new AC which he said doesn't need to be replaced immediately, but should probably be done in the next few years. There was also something extremely personable about everyone we worked with there. They seemed down to earth, compassionate and honest... which is what we ultimately look for in a professional contractor. Their Pricing was transparent and upfront. They also did a few add ons at no charge and offered us a discount for being on Angie's List. Now, our new furnace is running wonderfully... just in time for our beautiful Minnesota winter. I would certainly encourage anyone who who appreciates honest, professional service to check out Jake The Plumber before they hire a plumber. There is something about having a plumber you know and trust.

We have used Jake and his team for lots of projects. Some larger than others but they take the same approach to all jobs no matter how large a project you have. Honest and reliable is how I would summarize Jake and his team. Jake has helped us out on several occasion when we have been in a bind and couldn't find any other plumber to do work same day. Do to our business sometimes we need service same day.

Jake did all the work in a timely fashion and got everything working properly. We have used Jake for the past three years at all of our restaurants and he has done a great job. I'd recommend him to anyone.

He also looked at a couple other things while he was there and didn't charge us to fix their leaky sprayer on the kitchen sink!He cleaned the area up before he left as well. We felt he was very reasonably priced. I will for sure use Jake the Plumber again.

I was happy with the service provided. Stu was punctual and professional. Made several recommendations as he had come to replace my bathtub faucet and shower head. The bathroom faucet was leaking and he replaced it promptly. He asked if I wanted to replace shower head too? was clear about the charge and time required for replacement. I would use them if required for my future needs.

Jake the Plumber was the second quote we got on a job in our century-old condo unit where we are relocating a washer/dryer and revamping a kitchen and utility room. Based on online recommendations and Jake's thorough examination of the job, we asked him to do the work. On the first day the crew showed up at the designated time and worked through the day. Unfortunately, our old building had a surprise for us. After shutting down the building's water to install shutoffs to our unit, the building's valve failed and obstructed the flow of water to all the other units Jake and crew stayed on the job until after 9pm to repair the issue, and were complemented by the other occupants of the building on how well the situation was handled. Jake went to each affected unit and checked for pressure, and cleared grit out of water lines as needed. (Apparently this fragile old building has had other plumbing issues in the past, so the other owners here were remarkably understanding!) Despite the extra work (our association covered the expense of the failed building valve - Jake's charges were very reasonable), Jake and crew completed the work on time and within budget. This job is the first of several as we rehab our unit and we will be calling on Jake the Plumber to continue when we begin the next phase. Thank you Jake, Steve, and Paul for your friendly professionalism and commitment to the job!

In the end we went with another plumber recommended by a friend. Jake's price was fairly close to several I received, and he was prompt and courteous in his replies, so I wouldn't hesitate to use him in the future (although I can't comment on his work directly, since he didn't do any for me).

Very nasty situation, with toilet and janitor's closet suddenly overflowing with sewage. They did crisis management to mitigate damage to the space and its contents, and then worked over 2 days to address the source of the problem, fitting us into an already fully booked schedule. They flushed and then scoped out underground lines, and finally found the broken pipe that was the cause of the problem. They helped us reduce the expense of it with various problem solving suggestions. And they were patient, friendly and more than dedicated, staying late into the night to get it fixed. These guys are golden!

The short: Jake's Plumbing services were excellent and I would highly recommend them. Very prompt and responsive to my dire situation. He diagnosed and performed the needed repairs. No run around or outrageous quotes trying to take advantage of a bad situation. I cannot say same with past dealings with other metro plumbing companies, so I highly respect his integrity. He also provided advice and contacts for restoration services. The long: I called Jake to find out cost and availability to repair what I thought to be a single frozen exterior pipe. Jake's gave a rough estimate over the phone and said he could be out within the hour. He was on time and got right down to diagnosing the problem. Rather than one burst pipe, there were several breaks and a lot of water. He fixed all the breaks and mobilized enough pumping equipment to get the water out fast. All this in frigid weather. He stayed until he was sure everything ok which was well into the evening! Great service and dedication!

They are really knowledgeable. They were professional, and had matching outfits, they were clean, and didn't smoke.

Jake was prompt, professional, and personable. He gave me a good deal on the water heater and installed it expertly. There was an issue with the pipes in my home due to its age, but he was able to get the part we needed right away without any extra hassle. He got the old heater out of the house without damaging the walls, which shouldn't be a big deal, but the staircase to the basement is a tight fit and I've not been as fortunate with other service companies. His scheduler and staff were all friendly and efficient. I was so pleased with his work that I just had him come out again for a small repair job. I highly recommend Jake the Plumber!

I contacted him through Angie's List. He came the same day. It was late afternoon, and he twisted the arm of the supply house to deliver the heater before they closed. He finished the job. He was professional and pleasant, and seemed to know his stuff. I am completely satisfied with every aspect of his service. His A is well-deserved.

I didn't meet Jake, nor did I talk to him. I never felt I needed to! I am happy to report that my plumber Stew was an exceptional ambassador for the "Jake the Plumber" company. I am a single mom who has found that dealing with contractors can be a nightmare. They can be condescending, intimidating, and most certainly less than helpful or fair. Stew never made me feel like my small job was a waste of his time or talents. Nor did he shoo me away while he did his important work. Instead he invited me to kneel next to him and learn. It seemed he understood the priceless value of a basic plumbing lesson to someone like me. Stew replaced a supply shut-off valve under my sink. Not a huge job, but important non-the-less. He showed up on time, was friendly, careful, honored the quoted price, and threw in his tutorial services for FREE! I am done looking for a plumber (thank heavens). Now I know exactly who I will call if something big and horrible happens! Thank you Jake and Stew!

I was having trouble with a Bosch Aquastar tankless hot water heater. Intermittently, the main burner would not fire when I turned on the water. Jake worked with the Bosch tech center to diagnose the problem. He checked all systems on the unit, adjusted the gas pressure, and flushed the unit with a vinegar solution until the water ran clear. When he left, the problem was resolved and the hot water heater was running fine. Jake arrived on time and billed according to the rates I'd been given on the phone. I will use Jake again in the future.

I contacted Jake the Plumber because of the positive Angie's List reviews they had and because they offered evening and weekend hours; I work full time. I scheduled them to come out on a Tuesday at 5:30 pm. At 4:20 pm that day, Steve calls me and asks if we can move up the appointment. I tell him I'm at work but can be home in 20 minutes. I leave work immediately. When I get home at 4:40 pm I don't see a Jake the Plumber van outside my house. I open all my curtains and go outside and get my mail while I wait. At 5:10 Steve calls me to ask if I'm home; he had been sitting in his unmarked car outside my house this entire time. I had already partially disassembled the handle in an attempt to fix it myself. Steve takes a picture of my handle and tells me the plumbing supply store is closed but he'll bring the picture in and get a replacement part. He says he or the scheduler will call me to set something up for Thursday. Steve leaves me a voicemail around 4:30 pm on Thursday explaining he's been up since 2 am working on a plumbing emergency and he doesn't think he'll be able to come by but he'll try. I spend the evening at home waiting. At 7:15 pm he calls and says he won't be able to make it and schedules me for Saturday "late afternoon". He assures me he'll be able to make it because he doesn't work on Saturdays but he'll be in my neighborhood installing a hot water heater. He says he'll call me when he's on his way. On Saturday at 4:30 pm I receive a call from Steve saying his car battery is dead so he has to have Jake come and jump him. He'll give me a call when he's on his way which he does at 5:20 pm. Steve arrives at 5:45 pm with the part. After shutting off the water to my house, Steve removes the old part and inserts the new part. During this process the cartridge comes apart. Steve says he has a tool in his truck that will fix it. At this point, he's been at my house for 10 minutes. Steve goes out to the truck and after 30 minutes of being in the truck I check on him. He says he doesn't have the tool he needs and the wrench he tried broke. He put the old part back in the shower and turns my water back on. Again, the plumbing supply store is closed so he isn't able to get a new part until Monday. I should mention that my hot water has been shut off to my bathrooms for this entire time (no shower only shut off) and I had been showering at a friend's house. Steve knew this and his only comment was, "Is your friend inconvenienced?" to which I replied, "No, but I am." On Monday morning I call Jake the Plumber and briefly explain the situation to the woman on the phone. I ask to have my shower fixed today by someone other than Steve. She assures me she'll do what she can. Around noon another plumber, Stu, calls and says he can fix it in 30 minutes. I leave work to meet him at my house. Stu was fantastic. Had I had Stu originally this review would have been glowing. Stu came in with tools (Steve brought his phone to the first appointment and a wrench to the second.), took time to explain everything he was doing, and was very careful while working. He took time to clean the minerals out of my pipe before installing the new cartridge since he suspected that caused the other one to break. He was here for about an hour. Because of the hassles with Steve, Stu charged me for the part at cost ($43) and waived the trip charge. I was also charged for an hour of work ($155). When I called to set up the appointment I was told they charge $155 per hour but they never mentioned that the first hour is always billed whole regardless of the time spent, something Stu explained. When I brought the problems I was having to their attention they found a solution promptly and for that I have to give them credit. However, I had to leave work twice, spent more than a week showering elsewhere, and still spent nearly $200 to have this problem fixed.

I don't normally write these, but service in this case was extraordinary. Sunday night (naturally) we developed a water leak. Calls to brand name companies were not successful. Call to Jake the Plumber was answered by Jake himself on second ring. He arrived within 30 minutes, was efficient, professional and friendly. He accomplished exactly what he expected to and within time he predicted. Jake is a younger guy who started his own business when the housing market crashed in 2008. I am happy to recommend him and his company to anyone, and he will be my first call next time.

Jake was able to squeeze me in on short notice and came the same day. He had to run and get a supply/part, but was able to wrap it up that same day. Explained what he was going to do, the cost, did it, and ran me through how to maintain it. I will call him again when I have another plumbing need. I don't remember the cost, but I do remember that I thought it was fair.

Called Jake for an emergency on a boiler. He was unavailable, but referred me out. However Jake called back twice, once the night of the problem to see if we still needed help, and again the next morning to check if all was well. That is way beyond the call of duty. I will be calling Jake the next time I need a plumber.

Jake was great. He was able to come out quickly, explained everything he was doing and got the pipe fixed in an hour. He called at our appointed time to let me know he was going to be there within the hour (his dog got out!). He was great to work with and I'd definitely call him again.

We had an old water heater that finally went out. We live near Woodbury and wanted someone local. We called Jake The Plumber. The office person was very helpful. They said that Water Heater problems are "considered Emergencies" and they would have someone out in the next 2 hours to look at the problem give us an estimate on repairs. The plumber (Jimmy) was polite, likable and knew what he was talking about. More importantly, he explained the problem with our water heater in language that we could understand. The gave us 2 options; one to replace the water heater, and two, installing a high efficiency model. (We chose to replace the existing unit.) They were done in 3 and 1/2 hours. got rid of the old water heater and gave us a few recommendations on how to extend the life of the new water heater. They also gave us a free estimate for replacing one of our old toilets that keeps backing up. We found our new plumber... And we like him. Jeni and Jaden
