He is amazing. He laid the tile out so that the veining looked as if it had been cut from a single slab (for the fireplace). The bathroom flooring was the same so visually it looked like continuous slabs of tile. The shower stall, back-splash , and tiled wall had little “dots” randomly placed for accent. As you might imagine a painstaking process. The areas were beautiful. Lex is talented with tile mechanics and also tile art. He is very collaborative and it was fun to work with him on these projects. The pricing might seem high at first, but he is such a good and efficient worker that it pays off in the long run. You will end up with a space that looks like one of those pictures in Houzz .

Amazing. Lex is an artist. He also is a great collaborator. I had an idea for the bathroom that used large ceramic tiles, with random accent tiles at the corners, I wanted the tiles set on corner., so the pattern ran diagonally. He knew exactly what I wanted and it looked great. above the tile, he ran a glass liner strip and set the tiles so they covered the edges of the ceramic perfectly. In the kitchen, we used a 2 inch by 6 inch subway tile, with the tiles behind a large kitchen fan. Again he figured out a random 2 inch accent tile pattern that looked wonderful. Dramatic and elegant. especially where he cut the tiles to go around the cabinet trim.

Jake is a perfectionist. With Lex's help I picked out tile that coordinated with the existing tile. Lex and Jake then figured out the best pattern to highlight the new tile.

Everything went very well. Lex and his team were very responsive and a complete joy to work with. I had no qualms about giving them a key and leaving them at home with my dog. She loved them too. More important than anything, the tile work is gor-ge-ous! Lex instructed us where to go and what to select. It made shopping very easy because we knew we were going to the best shop and didn't have to second-guess. They suggested a few changes like removing a partial wall and changing the window sill in the shower and we went with it. We are so very happy that we did. I have recommended them to others. I would use them again. The work is not cheap but nothing good ever is. They cleaned up after themselves too.

We decided to tear out the old carpet and remove the baseboard ourselves. We selected an American Walnut for the wood floor and provided at least 3 places we knew that could get it. Lex checked some other places found some American Walnut much cheaper at Lumber Liquidators. This turn out to be a bad decision. Many of the boxes were clearly returns as the had pencil marks showing dings and other imperfections. It delayed the project as Lumber Liquidators tried to track down some quality replacement boxes. Lex and his crew did a great job of installing the flooring and tile. Once it all got here it went very quickly. We would never consent to use Lumber Liquidators ever again as a supplier. The floor looks good now, but we are concerned with its durability. Lex and his crew are great to have around and we have used them on several tile jobs over the years and they all look great and have held up over time. We are hoping the wood floor hold up over time in spite of the difficulty with the supplier in getting unblemished flooring here.

Lex and his guys were great! They were friendly, dependable and very professional. When they were done I felt as though I had lost good friends. They were respectful of my time, always letting me know when they would arrive and how long before they would be done for the day plus respectful of my home, laying down tarps to and from the bath and cleaning up after each days work. The and quot;newand quot; bathroom looks absolutely great and I'm so glad I hired Island Tile to do the work. I am thrilled with the results and highly recommend this company.

Excellent! Lex the owner of Island Tile has an eye for beauty. He proposed polished marble around the bathroom window. The polished marble matched the rough marble on the bathroom walls. Jake did the work. Jake was a very careful, detailed worker. There was one problem, and both Lex and Jake came out at 9 a.m. on a Saturday morning to fix the problem. I highly recommend Island Tile to anyone who needs quality workmanship.

Rudeness comes with a price tag.

Lex and Jake are very professional and hard working. So far the project has gone extremely well and I am very happy that I selected them to do the work. Tile has started going in after all the prep work was done meticulously.

Lex at Island Tile was great. He made a special trip to see us in the evening and give us his estimate. Then, we had a baby and got behind in scheduling him once the tile came in. But he called us and set it up--very helpful for me. His associate, Nathan, did an excellent job, staying late for what turned out to be a little more time-consuming than estimated. Could have done just a bit better on clean-up, but I can't complain as I appreciated him staying as late as he did to finish in one day.

We hired Island Tile to remodel our master bath and are absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Lex provided a very detailed and accurate bid. He kept us informed of the schedule and daily progress. Lex went out of his way to make certain we were happy, explained everything thoroughly and presented our options. We relied on his expertise for tile layout, edge choices, and grout selection. Lex and Jake are very friendly, a pleasure to work with and every member of our family enjoyed having them in our home. Their work ethic is impressive and were they always conscientious about cleaning up daily. Both men have have an incredible eye for detail and the quality of their work is impeccable. Island Tile will be our only choice for remodeling projects and we look forward to working with Lex and Jake in the future.

Lex was extremely professional and they always cleaned up after each day. They didn't just replace the tile, they made the bathtub beautiful. The workmanship is what it's about. If I had tried to do this, it wouldn't have looked half as good as it does. The amount of pre-planning on the layout of the tiles really shows. I learned a lot in this process. He explained how he was going to fix the crookedness of the wall visually so that the eye doesn't notice it and you really don't notice unless you look close and count the tiles. Everyday when I take a shower I admire the workmanship and it's been almost 4 months now!

Lex and his crew arrived as scheduled. There ended up being a mix up with the tile, but it was straightened out with in a day and the entire project was completed in about 5 days. They took care of everything that needed to be done in order to tile around sinks, toilets, radiator and tub. The removed and replaced a glass tub surround so they could install a marble cap around the tub. The final bathroom looks GREAT! A perfect fit for our 1914 house. This is our third project with Lex and Island Tile. There attention to detail is wonderful.

They came in quickly and did the job. They were very reasonable.

I picked out the tile and he did the rest. He was punctual and added highlights and finished an additional room. It looks great. Best contractor I had on the job.

Island Tile did a great job. They are great. They were easy to work with, made them do the job and they did great job. I've told people about them.

Good communication and advice. Able to do the work in a timely fashion and work around the needs of our household since my elderly parents live with us. The carpet was removed the then the wood floor was installed. Beautiful workmanship. A few years ago this company installed our tile in our kitchen. We are extremely pleased with the work that has been done by them in our home.

Lex and Jake were very responsive. They did the work while we were away on vacation. The job was finished on time and it looks great with a nice terra cotta tile pattern. They left the workspace and house clean and neat. We received three similar bids for the job, and Island Tile was at the top end, but I'm glad we paid a little extra for a job well done. We may have them do tile countertops and splash for us next year.

Our overall experience is good and we will use them again in the future.

Island Tile and another company had similar bids, and a third contractor was almost twice as much. The bid was very detailed. Lex and his assistant Jake were very professional and did beautiful work. They cleaned up after themselves every day and protected our floors outside the bathroom. Lex did a great job of keeping me informed of their planned schedule, and called with any changes (later arrival, etc). They occasionally worked on the weekend to keep the project on track. The electrician who did the wiring for the floor was someone Lex recommended. He was much less expensive than the one I found, and very professional. We had that electrician do a few other small projects around the house since he was so reasonable. We had a number of delays due to back-ordered components that I had ordered. Lex just "rolled with the punches" and did the work as parts arrived. He dealt efficiently with surprises (evidence of old leaks with rotten subfloor, poor insulation) and was good at problem solving and offering cost-effective solutions. He was very accurate in estimating how much tile to order (which was good since I ordered it from Costco, so it could not be easily returned). He was always cheerful and good-natured. We are delighted with our "new bathroom" and would definitely hire Island Tile again.

I'm very pleased with the service I received from Island Tile. Lex was prompt in providing an estimate. My project was a small one and Lex let me know he would fit it into his schedule of jobs as time permitted. The tile was installed in a few hours on Thursday, grouting was done midday on Friday, and the sealer applied on Saturday. I'm very happy with the results and I am looking forward to using Island Tile again.

They did really well. Everything was good. I would rate them highly. I will use them again in the future.

It went great. Lex and his underling were on time, responsive, fast, didn't make a mess, courteous. A little bit of grout came out, we contacted him and he fixed it. It is a tricky, crooked wall in an 1885 house so we didn't hold the small infraction against him. And the fact that he was so on top of fixing the problem made us like him even more. I'd definitely hire him again.

Lex and Jake did a great job on our bathroom remodel in October so before they left we had them bid on doing the kitchen floor and lined them up to do that in December. The project included removing old parquet flooring and /14 ply underlayment, laying down new tile board and installing new tile. The were done with the job by Friday. It looks beautiful. They did great work.
