The staff at Hoffman Weber were very courteous on the phone, and very prompt in coming out to get a sample of the existing siding in order to find a match. The installer arrived today with the new siding, and he too was very courteous. The siding is an identical match, and the 2ft X 10ft area of new siding looks perfect. A great company, great people, and great service! THANK YOU!!

The dates for the quote got messed up and I waited for 2 hours and no call no show. A few days later Kimberly called and apologized for the no show and she made a mistake. I like how she said it was her fault and she didn't try passing it off on someone else. So the following week someone did show but that's where I started thinking twice about hiring them. First he wanted to know how much money I had to spend on the job before I even told him what I wanted done. After showing him around he started to show me how bad Hardy board is, well that lasted 20 mins. I didn't know much about LP and thought the price would be the same so I just asked could you give me a quote for hardy and vinyl and he got into a 20 min thing about hardy. When he got done he wanted to come back another day to go over everything. I just wanted a quick quote, nothing in stone yet. So in this case the first on site impression killed the deal for me.

They showed up when they said they are going to show up and did what they said they will would do.

They were absolutely fabulous. I liked his followup. When he said he would be there, he was there. He was an advocate for me with the insurance company. It was amazing and I would have been totally lost. They came out and gave me an estimate and he said that was nice, but it didn't include this, this and this on things that also needed to be replaced. I really would have been at a loss if he hadn't shown me what we needed. His price was very reasonable. I have actually contacted him for additional work so I would absolutely use him again.

I just bought a forclosed property in Andover and a small patch of the siding was missing. I wasn't sure who to call as the previous homeowners left me no information about the siding company/color so I just went online to see if someone would be willing to help me. Hoffman construction's website made it easy to request a bid and I received a phone call the next day. I knew the color would be hard to match as the house is 15 years old and the siding is original but the area that needed to be sided was in a very inconspicuous place and I knew no one would notice if the repaired area was a slightly different color. Joe came out and repaired my siding with a close color match the very next day. Thank you Joe Hoffman. He made it easy for me to cross this small project off of my long list of things to do for my house.

They did what they were supposed to do. I hired them to insulate my attic after the inspection. However, their truck knocked down my basketball hoop. They said they would fix it, but they never came back. I called and called, but they never called me back. Eventually, I gave up.

Terry John Zila - bathroom designer had many ideas he was enthused about, but not so interested in what I wanted. I clarified again, I only wanted the design discussed and planned. Terry John Zila said this was all about bidding and I could not have a design. It would not be worth his time to do the design if not assured the work, since he estimated at least 20 hours of design work and refused to provide a design. He offered to refund my fee and I accepted. He did not tell me anything about how this refund needed to be initiated by me through Angie's list. In other words, he was done with me. I wasted lots of time on exploring this and obtaining my refund. Angie's list makes it easy to request the refund and is prompt and helpful about follow through. This experience, however, changed my impression of what Angie's List is really about. Be careful about what is posted by companies in their worded offer. I consider this a switch and bait tactic by Hoffman Construction sending Terry John Zila and NOT providing a free bathroom design.

Very professional staff , great crew, our roof looks beautiful! Was completed in a timely manner and helped us submit to insurance.

They were very responsive, and sent information about hiring the right contractors and what to look for as red flags when hiring contractors. They were very prompt and called us to let us know they were on the way. They came out to inspect the roof for hail damage, came down told us there were some hail dings but that we probably had another 8 years with our current roof and that it wasn't worth a claim because there wasn't enough damage to cause any problems. He did say that there was a "softer" spot on our roof and that if anything we might need some more insulation. He volunteered to take a peek in the atic to assess our insulation and gave us a quote on blowing in additional insulation to help prevent ice dams and explained the process/why it was good to do. While we didn't use them this time for services, we would most definitely use them in the future for other projects.

Total Nightmare on Doors, storm windows on front enclosed porch and siding (particularly my upstairs back porch). The only thing I wasn't upset about was the roofing work but now, even that has become a major issue. They claim it was the ice dams this past winter and the winter of 2010 that caused major damage to the inside ceiling and walls. However, I was told that with the venting, I wouldn't have ice dam problems. Prior to the new roof being put on, I never had the leaking in my house to start out with. At this point, I wish I would have just left the old roof on. I only wrote this review because I'm now on Angies list looking for a new contractor to redo what I spent thousands of dollars for to start out with and happened to run into this company that has been a nightmare for me.

They are a local company and that’s why I used them. However, I wasn't very impressed with their staff because the project manager changed couple of times.

I purchased a basement design consultation and drawings for $25.00 (this is the money I want refunded). Dan, the representative came out and took measurements and asked what I was looking for in a basement remodel. I told him that 'my basement is a blank canvas with lots of possibilities. Please design something that uses the entire space most efficiently." Then I mentioned the different types of rooms we'd want; a bathroom, a laundry room, storage, a workout room, etc. Dan sent an email with a drawing of a bathroom. Just a bathroom. And the bathroom was so large and extravagant that it took up 1/4 of the entire basement. I was highly disappointed because my number one point was to use the space most efficiently. Plus, where was the rest of the basement design? I spent a couple weeks playing phone tag with Dan, exchanging emails, etc. in hopes to actually get a design and drawing of the whole basement, which is what I paid for. I never got anything. My last few phone calls and emails have remained unanswered. We never got the design and drawings that we paid for. Therefore, I'd like the $25.00 refunded. Thank you!

Awful service really he come to my house and take a couple picture and did not come back no feed back . I call him and did not retune my call.

Hoffman Webber was great to deal with. They were responsive, friendly, and punctual. I hired them to replace many windows in my home. The replacement windows look and work great. The installer was professional, clean, knowledgeable and friendly. They worked with me to provide the best value of service at a price level with which I was comfortable. They were able to match or beat the other 2 competitive offers to do the same work. I have already asked them to come out and give me an estimate on the roof.

My husband met Dan from HW for a first meeting and estimate on a reroof of our house (4-layers) plus garage and gutters. As soon as he left and before we ever got the numbers, my husband was sold on Hoffman Weber. When the numbers came in they were very competitive. And Dan was willing to answer all my questions patiently and even work with me on finding other ways to save on the job, keeping me well informed as he investigated options on our behalf.

The salesperson was polite & on time for initial appointment to determine the scope of the work. After that however my job was "lost", the thermal imagining portion of the Angie's list deal was never completed - either before or after the insulation was added, and the billing was also a bit mixed up so I ended up going to their office in person to get it sorted out. It is my understanding that the salesperson I was working with left the company shortly after my project was complete. My score for responsiveness reflects the salesperson's fumble. The teams of workers that did the roof and insulation work were great - came on time, completed the work and cleaned up after themselves. Also, I was pleased that one of the principals of the company stepped in to resolve the project timing and billing when needed. The other scores for the company reflect the grades for these members of the staff. I would use them again because of this and their competent work crews.

We had a punctual and informative visit when our insulation needs were assessed in late Nov. What we thought was perhaps a gutter problem-lots of dripping and icecicles, turned out to be inferior, and in some cases missing, attic insulation. We were able to reduce costs by removing and disposing of the old insulation ourselves. With my husband training and testing for a new job at the time the contractor was available, we had some scheduling problems which got ironed out and the job was completed before Christmas. With the extremely cold winter we ended up having, we were certainly glad we got the insulation in at that time. Our only complaint is in regards to the $300 advertised discount. This does not come from the company, but rather from Excel Energy after the work is completed. We filled out the paperwork and sent it in only to be informed by Excel the R-value of the new insulation was not sufficiently high enough from the old to warrant a discount. Our feeling is that if this is part of the company's sales and advertising plan, they should certainly be aware of what is necessary to receive the discount. Be advised that the $300 discount advertised is not necessarily a sure thing. I did not know enough about insulation differentials so assumed the professionals were knowledgeable in what they were advertising.

At first they were great (Ryan was amazing), very professional, on time and open with communicating what was happening and the timing of everything. The ice dam damage was repaired in both the living room and attached heated garage was completed in a timely manner with the crew cleaning up really well! They had to scrape the the popcorn ceiling and redo, I think I have found maybe one or two popcorn pieces! That is amazing to me! The next stage of construction was getting the attic insulation put in. They came back out and re-measured everything since it has been more than 6 months since the last time they had looked at it. The estimate was higher due to some improvements they said needed to be done on the outside soffits of the house. I do agree that the work needed to be done. We also found that when they repaired the garage there were no roof vents at all!! So I also wanted 4 put in (again a little extra, but well worth it). So they came out, put in new soffits and 20+ inches of blown in insulation and 4 new garage vents for us. Everything was done great and I was happy. It looks wonderful with the new soffits, we did not do the whole house, so my plan was to have them out in a few years (when I have the money saved) to complete the rest of the house. We had a few hiccups along the way, the follow up was a bit slow, but everything has worked out and we are very happy with the end result. I can say that I am impressed with the professionalism of the crews and the work that they completed.

It was good. It was what I expected. I can’t say anything bad about them. The people were very nice. They were pretty helpful and gave ideas. They weren’t able to help with the situation for my house. They gave ideas on what we can do to improve our house and I pretty much did all the improvements that they said already.

The workers showed up an hour late and did not have the necessary supplies and were not apprised of the scope of work. Later, our sales rep called and asked to be paid. I was out of town at the time and replied that I would need to inspect the work first. When I returned home a few days later, I inspected the work and realized they did not complete the work as specified in the work order. When I called our sales rep to inquire, he admitted he changed the scope of work without notifying me before, during, or even after the work was done. It took many phone calls and several weeks before the workmen returned to complete the work as specified. Overall, the quality of work was fine, but communication with our sales rep was unsatisfactory.

The sales person was very pleasant to work with and focused on solving my issue vs. trying to do a “hard sell”. I was very impressed with the sales person. I thought their prices were very competitive and they also were professional, pleasant to work with and also followed up with me to ensure that I was satisfied with their work (which I was). I had a slight issue with the invoice not originally containing the Angie’s list discount but I called their billing dept. and they were very accommodating and corrected it immediately. I would highly recommend their gutter installation. I was impressed with their overall service and work quality.

You may do good work but overcharging the consumer isn't a wise decision.
