We are having them do a kitchen design for us.

It took them over a year to do the work, which I thought was too long. They did a good job and their cleanup procedure was fantastic.

I couldn't keep the appointment due to scheduling issues.

Hoffman sales person showed up, looked over the project and took no notes. He never contacted us again. Many months later, the company contacted us to see if we wanted to go through with them! Unbelievable! Very unreliable and unprofessional.

They were very professional, friendly, helpful, answered all of our questions on the spot - or found out the answers and let us know. They have good ideas on how to approach a wide scope of work in an efficient manner. They made us comfortable with their knowledge and experience. Their estimate was only a bit higher than someone else's, so we ended up going with another contractor, but we would not hesitate to use them in the future or recommend them to others.

We chose Hoffman Weber after looking at Angie's List reviews. We had an emergency situation with some poorly installed windows from a few years ago with a different company. Hoffman Weber was very quick to help us out with the windows. We were so happy with the windows and the work Pete did we inquired about siding for our home. Mike came out and did a very impressive quote and detailed description of what the siding would look like, the benefits of the new siding and showing us what our home would look like with adding some design siding to the pitch areas on our home. The crew was OUTSTANDING and tore off the old siding, wrapped the entire home and put up the new siding in only 2 days. The inspector that inspected the job said it was one of the most professional and detailed siding jobs he had seen. Mike was quick to come back out and asked us if we were happy with the job and we told him we were VERY happy. The cleanup was also very quick and we are so happy with our new look home. We would HIGHLY recommend using Hoffman Weber and we look forward to working with them again on our next home project. A+++ all around from Pete with the windows, Mike with the siding, the crew with the siding install and Bobby always answering our questions super quick. We can't thank Hoffman Weber enough.

We decided to do something else and put the roof on hold. I will call them back in a heart beat when it comes time for the work. They were prompt, very informative, and listen to what we wanted and came up with best solutions to what we asked.

Removing some of the old insulation and installing the foam insulation went well. The rest of the project had some hiccups. The job started on July 22nd and finished on November 18th. It was to be approximately a one week job. In order to do the insulation work, all of the furniture in the living area had to be moved to the center of the room in order for the workers to cut out pieces of sheetrock so that the foam insulation could be installed. Between the cutting and everything else, all of my personal belongings were covered with grit, old insulation, and dust that comes from using power tools to cut the sheetrock. I had been told that all of my belongings would be covered. They weren't, which I discovered when I came upstairs to see how they were doing. After some very heated words from me, I found sheets etc to use to cover everything as they did not come equipped to do so. I am still cleaning grit etc. from every genealogy paper and object in that room. When it came to the kitchen door there were some problems for the workers because this house is more than 80 years old. There was a lot of time spent to get everything to work properly so that the door would fit. In doing so, a small chunk of stucco that was located just above where they were working fell off the house. They did discuss what to do about it but it wasn't resolved. That still needs to be repaired next Spring. There was confusion about who was responsible for installing and painting the trim upstairs so it wasn't completed until Nov 18th. The furniture was put back into place on that same day and I could finally use the room again. There is still some trim in and outside the kitchen that needs painting come Spring. The interior of the kitchen door needs to be sandpapered and repainted so that it is all smooth and looks professional. The storm door had been installed years ago when the house was not quite so uneven and at that time about 4 inches had been cut off of the bottom of the door to make it fit. Because of how bad this now looked, the plan was for me to buy the storm door and they would install it gratis. Later on, because of the communication problems and the extra amount of time it took to finish the project, the company decided that they would both buy and install the door for me. They bought a better door than I would have and it looks great. [The storm door was not part of the original contract]. I gave them a "C" in responsiveness because their communication skills need a lot of improvement. Keeping in touch with your client on a weekly basis is not too much to ask for. And I had very little contact with my project manager during this time period of July to November. He actually thought the job was finished but never took the time to call and ask me if it was done and was I happy with the outcome. Just doing that would save them from a lot of angry clients. The workers who came were all very professional, focused on their jobs, did not waste time and were very friendly. As to whether I would hire this company again is uncertain. From a quality standpoint I definitely would. From a communication standpoint, only with a lot of improvement.

Nice guys! Fantastic work! My only complaint is that they appear to prefer big jobs to small ones so once the doors were put in I had to find someone else to install new storm doors.

We used Hoffman Weber for a bay window and everything went great! We have an older modular style home and they were very knowledgeable in finding just the right window for our wall thickness and size needs. The installation was done in a very timely and professional manner. As a homeowner, an important factor to us was the clean-up. When they were done, there was nothing for us to do - they were very considerate of our plants and bushes that they had to work around, and they left no debris.

A while back my home was hit by a particularly bad hail storm. The storm damaged the entire roof. Destroyed the vinyl siding on the west side of the home and dented the gutters all around. In the wake of the storm, our neighborhood was FLOODED with storm chasing contractors all intent on signing up homeowners. I seriously had more contractors coming to the house each evening than I have Trick or Treaters on a normal Halloween. Within a few days I had a 6 inch tall stack of pamphlets. My wife and I then began to investigate the companies that had stopped by, and it quickly became apparent that most of them where highly questionable. Many were formed earlier that spring, many were from out of state, and almost none of them had any online presence, references, reviews or BBB accreditation. This was the first thing that set Hoffman Weber apart from the competition, they have been in business for years, and have a solid number of reviews and references and an A rating with the BBB. After meeting with Dan Backlund, we hired HW to perform our repairs. Throughout the process Dan was extremely responsive and stayed on top of our job. Given the size of our claim it was a difficult job, and our insurance company did not make life easy, but Dan was on top of things, which made my role in the process very minimal. I have a large and complicated roof, there are lots of ridges and valleys. HW's crew came out and did the job in 2 days, including repairing and replacing the roof sheathing as needed. I believe they did quality work, I have had no leaks, and the roof looks good. The siding portion of the job went very smoothly. Dan came out with a bunch of samples and helped us match our existing color as closely as possible. The tear off and installation went off without a hitch, the crew was in and out in a day. Some weeks late we did have a piece of siding fall off. HW came out promptly to correct it and explained the issue to my satisfaction. The installation of gutters was also very smooth. As I said we have a large and complicated house, and I feel the gutter installer (Derek) really put in extra time and effort to ensure that the job was done properly. Overall I am very pleased with the job HW did on my home. As with any job there were snags along the way, but HW addressed them promptly and made sure that they were taken care of to my satisfaction.

The window replacement went great. I feel bad that it took me this long to writing a review for them. Hoffman Weber did exactly what they said they were going to do from the start to the finish. I found them on Angie's List as I have others in the past. This was one of the better experiences that I have had with service providers on Angie's List. I was concerned about the install that they recommended with the added cost. Now that the project is done I am glad that I listened to Pete and went with the full replacement. I would recommend this company to others in the future.

I am very happy with the service and work that Hoffman Weber Construction did with our window replacement and installation. We bought a 1923 Craftsman home with original windows. Our master bedroom had the worst of them. We had rot on the windows, cracks in the glass, and some were without screens. When the summer approached, I knew we needed to invest in new windows so we could actually open them and avoid the heat of a MN summer. I worked with Pete at Hoffman Weber to install our windows. We chose vinyl windows due to the great warranty. The work was completed quickly and efficiently and without any issues of a measurement being off. The only problem was one of the window was ordered correctly but manufactured wrong, and Hoffman Weber (Pete) put a rush order on a replacement. He came back after another job one evening - probably working overtime - to make sure we got the window installed as fast as possible. Overall, it was a great experience and I will be using Hoffman Weber when we complete the replacement of our other windows in our home.

I am very dissappointed with Hoffman-Weber. I signed the contract and made my initial payment on June 3, 2014. I was told the job would take 2-3 days. In fact, it stretched on for over three months, and extra shingles, tarpaper, tin and a wooden palette were still in my driveway in mid-September. There appeared to be little or no scheduling coordination as workmen didn't show up when we had been told they would be here and then they would come when we were not expecting them. I have no problem with schedules changing, but a telephone call would have helped. I hope the roofers did a good job but I have no way to know if this was the case as inspections did not occur throughout the process. Soffits were repaired as stated in the contract but the gutters were installed before the fascia boards were painted. When the painter came to do the job several days later he could only paint the exposed parts. Apparently, the wood behind the gutters will just stay unprotected. Until I insisted, no one from Hoffman-Weber came to inspect the finished job, determine the quality of the work, and sign off on its completion. This finally occurred on September 22. The inspector, Eric, apparently a new employee of the company, was very pleasant and I think he did a good job. He cleaned up considerable debris around the house. I was told early in the process that I would receive a written summary of the project but I still have received nothing from Hoffman-Weber except the bill.

My husband and I couldn't be happier with the service we received from Hoffman Weber Construction. Our new deck is the talk of the neighborhood! It's gorgeous! Their guidance, professionalism, service and price were all outstanding. The have also done some roof work on our house and replaced windows in our old house. They are our "go to" guys for any construction projects we have.

It went really well. It was faster than expected. They work was the best of quality. They were very trustworthy and reliable. I will always contact them first when I have anything that comes up.

I found them on Angie's List. As far as the quality of the work they did a fantastic job. The price was about what I expected; it was an insurance job so I did not have to worry about that too much. They were more than accommodating when it came to doing any of the adjustments that I asked for because I had to have a significant amount of structural work done before they could even do the rest. They also had done some insurance research and saved me about $3,000 on part of the decking work because they figured out how to get it covered by insurance because it actually was not up to code. As far as their communication goes they were pretty good, as far as a construction company goes, anyway. I think they subcontracted out a few things but I am not sure what they were. I think the actual roofing was contracted out, but the siding and gutters were all done internally, if I can remember. They did everything I asked them to. They were not the cheapest, but they were not the most expensive.

We were very happy with the Hoffman Weber team. Our building looks so much better with the new roof and siding. Their pricing was great and everything was done as promised.

The estimate was on high end of costs.

We hired Hoffman Weber when they came to our door one day. NEVER AGAIN! Not only were they insanely expensive (our fault for not getting multiple quotes), but one of the workers ruined our ceiling. They stopped off on of the joists and there's a footprint in our ceiling. The salesman was a scam artist. He claimed he provided the best service ever, but they installed the insulation and he never came back to do a walk through, even though he said he would. Never heard from them again. I have no idea how they have an A rating. At best, they are a C company.

We had some issues with the Hoffman Weber representative who came to our home to perform the thermal imaging and provide a quote for the work that needed to be done. He gave us inaccurate information about timelines and was not responsive to my emails. I initially wrote a poor Angie's List review for the company. However, I was contacted by the general manager the next day expressing concern about the review and apologizing for the lack of proper communication. He stated that Hoffman Weber was a company that prided itself on excellent customer service and that they were aware of the communication issues and had taken steps to correct the situation. He said that he wanted to know how Hoffman Weber could "make it right". This impressed me because many companies do not put a lot of stake in reviews and do not follow with a customer's dissatisfaction. He offered to send someone out the next week to repair the damaged dry wall free of charge. Again, kind of unheard of. Hoffman Weber is almost done with the drywall repair. Because of the follow up and seemingly genuine concern regarding the bad experience we had with the salesperson, I have chosen to raise my grade to a B.

5/17/2014 After receiving the estimate we were assigned Dan as our project manager. Dan gushed about their fabulous service, quality and assured us he would be supervising all aspects of the work at all times to our satisfaction. The entire process has been difficult, and I could not recommend them because they do not live up to their promises. First they did not inform us the corner pieces were not in stock in the color we ordered, and installed white without informing us of the issue. Then Dan said it was our problem because they did not have time to order our color. What I wanted was to know of the problem prior to installation. They also removed siding from the front of our home, and installed the new siding which was not part of our work order, and looks out of place on our home. Next the two employees who were installing the siding were making multiple mistakes, and did not follow manufacturer instructions when installing the L P Smartside siding. I called and asked the office to sent out an experienced installer, and they responded, but refused to take down the siding that was cut improperly short and damaged. They then tried to cover the mistakes with thick caulk seams that failed within 24 hours. When informed of the problems several Hoffman Weber employees stopped by to tell me that the siding was installed properly and requested payment ( None of them even climbed onto a ladder to really inspect the problems which are not visible from the ground!) The siding application did not pass city licensing inspection. Joe Hoffman who owns the company came out and inspect the job and assured us it was improperly installed, said that he was having problems with the employee who ran the Minnesota office, and said a installer named Boris would be out to redo the job. We sent pictures of the problems to our inspector and to Hoffman Weber.The poorly installed siding is still on our home, and we are worried about water intrusion and have no warranty coverage because manufacture installation instructions were not followed. Hoffman Webers website claimed they were a preferred installer for our product and those claims have now been removed from the web page. Joe Hoffman did not respond to our email sent 5/17/2014. A company representative called us 7/29/14 and asked to come out and get a punch list of the problems and I told her our siding needed to be redone completely. She will be visiting tomorrow, and I am upset that they did not order up the product and send out Borris their top installer to get the job done like Joe Hoffman said they would do .

I initially hired Hoffman Weber when one of their associates came to the front door, cold calling to try to drum up business. This representative was so cheerful and polite (and knowledgable) that I was convinced to give them a try. I couldn't have chosen better. Their prices are not the lowest, but the quality of their work and their employees is outstanding. Also, the house was cleaner when they left than it was when they walked in.

We had roof damage from a storm in Summer of 2013. The representative assigned to me, Ryan, was very knowledgeable and helpful and even worked with the insurance company to the best value out of my claim. The work was promised and done it a day except the gutters. They got around to replacing the front end gutters at some point after the roof was done as I noticed one day but I wasn't given notice when it was done. They originally forgot about the additional gutters on the back but that was early in the year of 2014. We also had originally requested our deck to be repainted but there painting contractor apparently was let go due to complaints so they were unable to do that and I was reimbursed on my final statement. Overall, I got what a paid for and wanted with some small hiccups along the way.

They were over and above and beyond what they said they were going to do. They were just fantastic. They were so professional. They were so kind. They were on time. They were punctual. They had a time line laid out. They said everything they were going to do and they did it exactly. There were no absolutely no surprises. I would use them again in a heartbeat! They can come over and do my laundry and hang my drapes! I don't even care less. They can do everything here.
