Description of Work: These men are craftsmen. The quality of their work on Victorian houses is incompatible. They have decades of experience. Their workmanship is meticulous and exactly authentic. Bob Hengelfelt knows more about Victorians than any book i have ever read, partly because i suspect he will have read most, but mainly because of the dozens of houses he has worked with. They are dependable and honest and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Bob took down our old porch and designed a new one. Because the house is in a historic preservation district, Bob's plans had to be approved by the St. Paul Heritage Commission. Because he had a lot of experience working with the HPC, Bob was able to get through the process smoothly. The design was beautiful and fit within the historic character of the house and the neighborhood. The finished product was amazing. Bob takes pride in his craft and built a durable and beautiful front porch. He pays attention to every detial ensuring that it is done properly. He does not cut corners and is very knowlegible about structural issues. (We had a bedroom that was added on top of the porch many years ago.)

+ 1 moreIt was part of a neighborhood restoration program and the quote was too high so we did not move forward. He was very nice, very knowledgeable, and he has excellent work but it was just too expensive for us at that time.
Description of Work: We got a quote from Hengelfelt Restoration Inc. in June of this year for a historical restoration of the porch and some windows on the front of our house.
